    I NEVER leave comments. But as an Ordinance Worker, I have found this series profoundly helpful in appreciating and understanding the depth of the many blessings and details that make the Temple such a blessing. Blessings that I had previously been unaware of (and that are NOT taught in Ordinance Worker training). Thank you so much.

    Thank you, brother Dunford for all your work and this series on the temple ordinances. I also really enjoy the talking scripture podcast for come follow me. I had started listening to this particular one this morning and when I was at work, I was faced with a situation that I didn’t know how to deal with. All of a sudden I thought about the sticker that’s on the whiteboard in our ordinance training room at the temple which simply says “loving kindness“ and as I applied that to the situation I was in completely turned everything around. For sure, charity never faileth and because I had learned that as a temple ordinance worker it helped me in that very moment. The point of the temple is loving kindness.

    Why do higher covenants bring higher burdens? I really appreciate this episode, it's super timely as I find myself just grappling with some things and not feeling the help I wish I was...

    • @BryceDunford
      @BryceDunford  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There must be opposition in all things. You cannot have higher blessings without higher burdens. “The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?” (D&C 122:8). “He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all things, in that he comprehended all things, that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth” (D&C 88:6). I think that suggests he could not comprehend all things had he not descended below all things. I would suggest the same thing as true for us. There are some things you only learn through those higher burdens. D&C 136:32-33.
      But that is why you have the higher blessings: so that we have the strength to face and conquer the higher burdens.

      @BryceDunford thank you for the reminder. Sometimes I get caught up with what's in front of me and forget to look at the big picture. And think celestial. Thanks!

    Good day Brother Dunford. I was curious of your take on the growing popularity of 'biblically accurate' angels, as described in Isaiah. As was taught by Joseph Smith, angels have a form like that of men. Should Isaiah's descriptions be viewed as symbolism, or are there other classes of angels than those that Joseph Smith spoke of?

    • @BryceDunford

      Read D&C 77:4 and tell me if that answers your question.
