  • Disclaimer, I am not trying to bitch about anything in this video lol, I just wanted to share my experiences with you and maybe get some advice or start a conversation. Despite these obstacles, I am nonetheless extremely excited for college and a new chapter in my journey! (sorry if I repeated myself a little bit)

    Hi Jentry!
Good luck with college! I have CP myself (Spastic diplegia) and graduated Cum Laude from The Catholic University of America with a B.S. in Biochemistry. College was a great experience for me and I hope that you will have a great experience too. One advice that I would like to give to you is to put yourself out there and join a student organization while you're in college. Feel free to contact me if you like more advice!

I went to college from September 2001 to May 2003 and I would've preferred my own room. After a couple weeks of being there my roommate told me he hated me because I was disabled. He told a girl he liked that he'd punch me but "he didn't want the disabled group aftèr him" I was there when he said that over AOL instant messengers. Anyway, I went to the resident director and they made me move into another room.

Hi Jentry - I have a friend, Katy Fetters who runs a very popular blog titled Teen CP. You can Google it. Katy, who has CP, is a junior in college and I think you two would hit it off really well. I know that she has talked about some of the same frustrations that you just did. Just wanted to pass that along. Love the tattoo! Stay strong! John

Hey! I know this was 5 years ago but I can resonate with your situation. I too have CP and use a wheelchair. My freshman year of college, I did have my own bathroom, but they put me in a dorm room for 2 people. To clarify, that's a single room for 2 people. Not the best situation for a person who uses a wheelchair. What is your status now?
