Why not? I laugh at all the crap that's joked about white guys, and laugh without even thinking its "racist"! Some of the funniest jokes I've ever heard were from Red Fox, Richard Pryor, Flip Wilson the list goes on were they racist? HELL NO that was REAL comedy, even today when I see them on old school past reactions I still enjoy them! Those were the special years! Now comedian has no meaning and those that at least try for it are chastised and ridiculed! If you can't laugh at your own race's faults and idiosyncrasies, then you're the racist no matter what shade you are!

I'm a big fan of comedy, especially things like satire and stand up. To me it's one of the purest forms of art because anything can have a joke made about it. Comedy has the power to help us cope and help us heal and help us see how we as a society can improve upon ourselves and each other. It lets us talk about difficult topics and not fight but engage with each other, learn, understand and grow. Katt Williams on one of his albums talks about the hard work and effort he puts into his writing and you hear Daniel Tosh do a bit about how anything can be funny and it's so true. There is a purity to the art form of Comedy and we are all better for it and those that can do it well.

The thing with your example is that it boils down to the difference between reality, and fiction. Just because something is funny in fiction, doesn't mean it's funny in reality; whereas the fact that fiction isn't real allows it to turn tragedy into humor. The problem is that there's too many people who will complain about comedy in fiction as if it's reality, because they somehow can't tell the difference.
