Hang on, the days of fun, cheesy crossovers in hotel rooms involving hostage-taking, fake murder and frequent creator abuse... was in 2008!? Jesus, my hip...
Feels so nostalgic to me (I remember growing up seeing some movie/video game critics collab videos back in the ye olde early TH-cam days). Happy to see some collabs still happen! ^^
It's been a dog's age since I've seen a good old fashioned reviewer hotel crossover video! I blame the pandemic. This was a delightful return to form and I very much enjoyed the two irish folk dunking on the englishman.
The dunking continued, the day after we filmed me and FB went to the Ulster Museum and I warned him when we were about to enter the 'English are bastards' period of Irish history lol.
@@disconnected22 The Lock In, Star Paws, Island of Doctor Moreau, the Pray movies, Pirates of the Great Salt Lake, The perv parlour, Voyage of the Rock Aliens, MonsTURD. I love a good collab :)
Hope you enjoy! They're eclectic as all hell! But the Sudden Fury, Remington and the Curse of the Zombadings or Nesting Dolls are good movie reviews to get started with.
Brian Flim looks like he had a hell of a lot of fun filming this XD it's great to see you guys have a good time! ALSO as someone from Australia it's funny that so many Irish people say they're going to come here but don't... we love an Irish accent so people would probably get a decently warm welcome if they could manage it lmfao

I might have actually teared up a bit seeing you on Ryan's video. How I've missed your vodeos, youtube stopped telling me about any uploads and things got buried.
I get the sense that part of the subtext of the film is about the harm that alcohol does to communities. There's the parallel between drinking blood and drinking alcohol and many of the moments where people are in danger are within the context of having consumed alcoholic beverages, empty bottles, excessive bar tabs going unpaid, losing control of vehicles and crashing them, the main characters being barred from the pub due to an incident that happened when drunk, etc. The whole town being turned into servants of the vampire then waking up with no memories of what happened and a headache also supports the idea. The pub landlord ties his business' viability with the presence of the sealed away vampire. The reaction of the father to the protagonist trying to redirect the bypass to circumvent the grave makes sense in the context of an addict trying to create justifications for why they don't need to stop drinking. Ultimately, viewed through this lens it's possible to read the ending as the protagonist dealing with his grief and developing a healthier relationship with alcohol, one where he can exercise restraint and moderation instead of being forced to accept the dichotomy of either letting it control his life, or having to fully abstain and becoming increasingly socially isolated as a result. It's also of note that a lot of the characters who are killed are the people who most enabled his drinking, with their deaths potentially representing a need to remove himself from their influence.
The whole thing about it being a law that TH-camrs can invade hotel rooms and force people to do reviews reminds me of that time Caddicarus flew to America just to do that to SomecallmeJohnny 😂 Maybe I should rewatch that after this
Maybe its because I live in a town that has cattle at the university but I'm very disappointed we get a blurry cgi bull instead of someone bothering to go film an actual one.
‘Germans would have more sense than to come here and look at a pile of stones’ ... Me, a German who has been thinking about making a trip to Slaghtaverty Dolmen throughout the whole historical video introduction... X,D By the way: We Germans only get to play two roles in films from English-speaking countries: Backpacker or Nazi. Now the Canadians are taking away the funnier of the two roles! I protest! We have stones. We love stones. Don't take that away from us XD
I actually remember this film popping up on shutter. I actually did have to turn the subtitles on because I couldn’t understand a fucking thing anybody was saying throughout the entire thing.
Anything antediluvian is something that took place prior to the Abrahamic Flood that Noah built the boat for. In the context of the World of Darkness vampires, this would be any generation of vampire that was sired prior to the flooding with the first generation being Cain (and maybe Lilith?), the second generation being the 3-6 vampires he sired, and the third generation were sired by the second and founded or inspired the creation of the clans players can chose to be part of. The city that the second and third generation created and everything that went on there is a cause, if not THE cause, for the great flood. I wonder if I still have that copy of the Book of Nod that WoD release somewhere. I dug the lore in that universe.
I don't usually "Squee" over something I see in the Mistress' reviews, but then I saw Fra Fee (He was also in the Les Miz movie with Hugh Jackman) was in this.
26:47 - LOL that's silly. Our hearts are protected by a ribcage for a reason. If you could just push a broom in and get it out through the back, then the ribs might not even need to be there. I can accept him getting impaled by that rather blunt object, but getting the heart pop out of his back is silly.
(Weeping for Ulster) 😂😂 This review needs to be an extra on the DVD/bluray! Only physical version I could get was a German release. Odd there was no UK blu ray release.
That'd be amazing, my review of Preaching to Perverted ended up on its official bluray because the director liked it so that kinda thing's not impossible. I have a Region 1 American copy, the lack of a UK/ Irish release is maddening.
I have a friend who's a Celtic folklorist with his specialty in fairies and according to him Stoker's Dracula is inspired more by Dearg Due. Right down to taking a lot of the stuff (no reflection, for instance) from Dearg Due lore.
Always interesting to see you talk about Ireland. I don't know what it is. Maybe a loving antagonism? Anyway, onwards to see the other half of the crossover!
Why is everyone angry at him for causing William's death, should they not be mad at the person who owns that bull, and let it roam free? Heck, do we ever see the cops capture the bull?

Loved the VtM reference. I I am absolutely sure that if Abertach had been known at all in the US during the 90s, he would have been an established character in Masquerade. Probably a 4th or 5th Generation Gangrel and it was the Garou who buried him.

As a reader of MD Massey's Junkyard Druid books, and also a huge fan of Canadian masterpiece TV show Letterkenny, I'm getting whiplash from recognising names and phrases.
oh a King of the Hill reference, now we're in my territory it's interesting how y'all bring up southern rock being popular half a world away, considering a lot of southern rock is borne of CCR/Dan Fogerty who was from California. But his blend of rock and country just really caught on and we kind of adopted him. Same with sludge metal, a staple of New Orleans, it really comes from The Melvins who were part of the late 80s Seattle scene which gave us Nirvana and Soundgarden (listening to the latter's 4th of July you can really hear the sludge).
I had no idea there was a subset of Irish people who want to move to, specifically, Australia. I think there should be some sort of Australian/Irish exchange program, I know so many fellow Aussies who desperately want to live in Ireland
Regarding the barman chewing him out over the field, I feel like the point is that they went there at night. They only got in the way of harm because of the poor visibility (and the vampire, probably, but I doubt he actually believes in the myth) so I would imagine that he's making the very sensible point of saying that walking around drunk and making a bunch of noise, whilst waving torches around in the pitch black, on uneven ground, near a bunch of large animals who could feel threatened and charge at them, was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do and contributed to the guy dying. It's rural Northern Ireland and there's no light out there after the night comes in, so it's much more responsible to walk down the road where the ground is flat and the only significant danger is from cars, which can be seen approaching due to their headlights. I don't know if either of you have lived anywhere like that, but it was definitely my inference and I don't really agree with the idea that him blaming them for being there is incompatible with the fact that his business relies on the tourism it generates during the day. The context matters.
