    put some spacers in your wheels and use some speed rings it'll be 1000× smoother as it'll let you crank the axle nuts completely down taking away all the slop and shimmy from the wheels

    is that easy to do tricks on? i want a cruiser board but i think having a regular skateboard deck makes it easier to do trick?

    • @hannahtorrance
      @hannahtorrance  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cruiser boards aren't designed to do tricks on. If you're wanting to do tricks I suggest getting a normal street skateboard. But it's pretty easy to ollie on this one.

    Hi Hannah 🌸 have you tried doing simple tricks on the Cruiser Board? I'm curious.
    I'm sure others would like to see a video on that, too. And maybe you can even share how you have to adapt to the different (heavier?) cruiser.

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we kind of need more cruiser board trick videos indeed. However, knowing this is basically a regular board with risers high trucks and big wheels, there's no reason why most tricks couldn't be done on a cruiser. I do think the board is likely heavier, but in terms of concave and in terms of size a lot of 'regular' mini longboards or cruisers can do basically all tricks you could imagine. Especially those with at least 'half' a nose and a decent kick tail.

    i like smaller trucks instead of bigger on my cruiser boards bc cruiser wheels are bigger and if you put big wheels on regular trucks you can see the wheels sticking out when you're standing on the board and i don't like that. (especially with those penny wheels which i have on my board too) lol. plus it makes it easier to do tricks if you want

    • @hannahtorrance
      @hannahtorrance  7 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @amit2897

    Hey Hannah thnx for the video, need some guidance, me a 43yr old new skater, starting with a cruiser board and will still to this style of skating only...now on a penny nickel kinda board, wanting to upgrade and assemble my own cruiser soon. I have these fury Evo 2 trucks 8" available here in local decathlon....are these good to start a cruiser build? With a 8" skateboard deck? ....confusion is , are all decks and trucks cruiser build compatible, if not, what should one be looking for ? I want to stay away from extra riser hardware as much as possible , use 60mm wheels , and have a very carvey feel to the board(lots of turning capacity...) , The deck available here is a regular popcical shape 31"x 8" wide...

    • @hannahtorrance
      @hannahtorrance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool, those trucks with a standard 8” board is fine if that’s what’s available locally. You’ll probably need riser pads to prevent wheel bite considering the larger wheels through - which might mean longer hardware. If you want carve style turning you also might want to switch those bushings to something like Bones Soft ones. Hope this helps.

    • @hannahtorrance
      @hannahtorrance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quick note on the riser pads/longer hardware. Most cruiser decks have a cut out to prevent wheel bite. But standard skateboard decks don’t.

    • @amit2897
      @amit2897 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thnx for the prompt response Hannah...I appreciate the help ...now I get it, I need to always look for a deck with those cut outs for larger wheels.... anyways, I have reconsidered my decision, I think I will stick to the penny nickel kinda board/cruiser for now...and get loads of practice on it before jumping to something new n expensive...I think these boards too are plenty serious for my my kinda experience....and play n experiment wih stuff like bushings, bearings, wheels etc to keep it interesting....once again, appreciate the help....
