put some spacers in your wheels and use some speed rings it'll be 1000× smoother as it'll let you crank the axle nuts completely down taking away all the slop and shimmy from the wheels
@@hannahtorrance thats awesome! Yeah I put together a cruiser deck and had loose trucks to carve and went for a turn and ended up on the ground. So i had to ask especially with you flipping the deck so well!! Clean !👌
Hey Hannah thnx for the video, need some guidance, me a 43yr old new skater, starting with a cruiser board and will still to this style of skating only...now on a penny nickel kinda board, wanting to upgrade and assemble my own cruiser soon. I have these fury Evo 2 trucks 8" available here in local decathlon....are these good to start a cruiser build? With a 8" skateboard deck? ....confusion is , are all decks and trucks cruiser build compatible, if not, what should one be looking for ? I want to stay away from extra riser hardware as much as possible , use 60mm wheels , and have a very carvey feel to the board(lots of turning capacity...) , The deck available here is a regular popcical shape 31"x 8" wide...
Cool, those trucks with a standard 8” board is fine if that’s what’s available locally. You’ll probably need riser pads to prevent wheel bite considering the larger wheels through - which might mean longer hardware. If you want carve style turning you also might want to switch those bushings to something like Bones Soft ones. Hope this helps.
Thnx for the prompt response Hannah...I appreciate the help ...now I get it, I need to always look for a deck with those cut outs for larger wheels.... anyways, I have reconsidered my decision, I think I will stick to the penny nickel kinda board/cruiser for now...and get loads of practice on it before jumping to something new n expensive...I think these boards too are plenty serious for my my kinda experience....and play n experiment wih stuff like bushings, bearings, wheels etc to keep it interesting....once again, appreciate the help....
Clean setup! I love cruisers, too the point when getting off onto your normal board at the park feels so strange! Cool video Hannah, setup vid on my channel if anyone's keen
+Hannah Torrance Cool Video!! Very restful too actually! Sweet tricks there also, WOW! Can I ask what the music track was that was in background, i really liked it. Thanks.
Just wondering how you ended up liking this build? I'm thinking of making a cruiser myself and I'm wondering if you would recommend this build or if you'd make changes? Thanks
Hi Hannah 🌸 have you tried doing simple tricks on the Cruiser Board? I'm curious. I'm sure others would like to see a video on that, too. And maybe you can even share how you have to adapt to the different (heavier?) cruiser.
Yes, we kind of need more cruiser board trick videos indeed. However, knowing this is basically a regular board with risers high trucks and big wheels, there's no reason why most tricks couldn't be done on a cruiser. I do think the board is likely heavier, but in terms of concave and in terms of size a lot of 'regular' mini longboards or cruisers can do basically all tricks you could imagine. Especially those with at least 'half' a nose and a decent kick tail.
Cruiser boards aren't designed to do tricks on. If you're wanting to do tricks I suggest getting a normal street skateboard. But it's pretty easy to ollie on this one.
i like smaller trucks instead of bigger on my cruiser boards bc cruiser wheels are bigger and if you put big wheels on regular trucks you can see the wheels sticking out when you're standing on the board and i don't like that. (especially with those penny wheels which i have on my board too) lol. plus it makes it easier to do tricks if you want
You should get some super juice or hot juice from oj wheels they make the best cruiser wheels in my opinion I like this set up I’d still do some slash grinds on it
Heyy i would really like to know if it is it harder to do tricks with wheels of a cruiser? What's the difference between normal skateboard wheels and the wheels you've used?
i really want a cruiser borad like the one you built because i just want to ride but i don't know how much it would cost me btw i enjoyed your video so much it's so peacefull 💓
why does the shape of your “cruiser” board and the look like the shape of a regular skateboard and why are the trucks the same as an actual skateboard’s trucks 😭 im so confused
can you do a video of just cruising around? love the set up btw x
I wanna be as unbothered as that dog was while you were skating
I want to be that cat in the bed :D *-*
@@RabbitConfirmed why did i read that as i want to do that cat in bed lmaoo
That graphic is a real hoot! ;)
But seriously, really sweet looking board.
There's nothing more beautiful than a brand new complete
Beautiful board, excelent artwork and color. White wheels were perfect! Congrats!
That art work on the deck thoo.

slop and shimmy
Wtf does all that mean
This makes me sooo happy because I had just bought a welcome board for the first time last week. Their graphics are so cool. Loved the video.

Such a neat graphic and setup, the clear grip looks great!
Holy crap that kickflip was SO clean!
1st Impression, this Girl don't skate. 2nd impression, whoa she's better than me! Props Sistah, nice video.
Cool board. Cat is cute. And 4:00 dog is cute, too.
Might do some tricks on my other board *kickflips* , i'm amazed.
Welcome is a sick board co.
The board is gorgeous! ❤️ I wonder if you still have it.
I do!
@@hannahtorrance cool, I got a Maow Hawgs Lil EZ wheels, but I'm still on learning
Thumbs up for clear grip! Why cover up such beautiful wood? BTW - doggo is funny!
Funny I've done the same thing, I've created a hybrid, welcome 9inch deck plus longboard trucks and wheels with risers to prevent wheel bites 😅😅
Looks great Hannah! I built a solid wooden cruiser and did a full build video too! Keep it up!
The Board is soooo Sick !!
DAMN that's one seriously pretty board.
Did you ever have problems with wheel bite ? Those wheels look big for that board but looked like they are fast and a smooth ride!
MR. REE no issues! The risers do the job well

Quick note on the riser pads/longer hardware. Most cruiser decks have a cut out to prevent wheel bite. But standard skateboard decks don’t.

Did we need to change the truck too..if we are gonna put a longboard wheels in a skateboard
Clean setup! I love cruisers, too the point when getting off onto your normal board at the park feels so strange!
Cool video Hannah, setup vid on my channel if anyone's keen
The story behind that was if this video got popular, new viewers can see that I actually skate!! Hahah
Hannah Torrance yeah that's a good idea! Covering your back haha, enjoy the cruiser
I remember doing something similar to your board, except I didn't get risers for mine so I got an insane amount of wheel bite.
Thanks
Hey - I would change to Bones Reds bearings and probably Jessup griptape and cut a hole in the grip where the Welcome logo is haha.
When you do tricks on your skateboard, they look so cool, your pretty good, nice cruiser as well

Where can we mail some white rim shades to go with the setup?
Thats a sick ass board

Cruiser boards aren't designed to do tricks on. If you're wanting to do tricks I suggest getting a normal street skateboard. But it's pretty easy to ollie on this one.
Hannah Torrance would it work if i got street wheels but a bit softer than normal
Rachel Timbersnakeland Yeah that would be cool.
Hannah Torrance okay thanks for your help! 💕
should i get longboard wheels or penny board wheels for a regular skateboard as a cruiser
Awesome cruiser
We’re did u get the wheels?? :3
Love the graphic on the deck

Haha, I love seeing the wheels when I'm riding it.
You've got such nice pop!!!
Won't your board get wheelbites?
If you enjoyed skating on the grass, you should look into Mountainboarding 🤘😎
My cruiser board is a welcome board size 8.25 and I got clear grip for mine too😅 but I got it before this was posted
Wow cool and clean setup, I like it
I loved that board but some one at work jacked it.
Love the tricks 😮😮😮

Has the skate got any weel bites?? Because i've got a classic skate and i will make a "cruiser"
Hey the wheel bites aren't bad. The trucks are relatively tight. Make sure you have riser pads though!
Hannah Torrance ok, thanks you for your answer
Last take was awesome! Keep doing videos :)
I want to get a cruiser of my own but i don't know how to set up one.just starting to get into the skate thing
You could go to a skate shop, they always seem to be pretty helpful in there.
Hannah Torrance thank you so much
Another great video!
I love that board graphic, would've chosen the same one!
Nice vid, is it possible to do ollie on this type of board?
Yup!
A lot of us wish we could have a driveway like that, heh... but great video:)
So cute and great video.
That was legitness😂!!!
Which Size of Truck is good 5 5.25 5.5 7 7.75 8.75"? can you help elaborate benefits please?
Try to get trucks that are just shorter than your board is wide
Can I ask, what shop did you use / where did you buy the set up?
Kate Cherenkova they were local ones. The Good Room, HyperRide.
@@hannahtorrance Thanks! what hardness are the wheels by the way?
Wow very beautiful board 🛹 💖
The dog is just dead on the pavement 😂😂😂
Can I stop by and we can ride double on my cruiserboard?
Can you make a video of you just cruising around
Heyy i would really like to know if it is it harder to do tricks with wheels of a cruiser? What's the difference between normal skateboard wheels and the wheels you've used?
It is harder to do rri5cka with cruiser wheels because they're bi9dder so they make the board higher of the ground which makes it harder
What length or hardware did you use with the 1/8th inch riser pads?
Mr. Editor Hey, just 1” ReVive Life Bolts
@@hannahtorrance Thanks, M8!
Is it safe to you use this same setup but with a 7 3/4 deck or is it recommended to get a bigger board?
It doesn't really matter, I just thought the bigger board would look better because of how big the wheels are. Balances it out a bit.
any know the ambiemt music in the back?
Hey, how are the wheels going? Gonna put together a cruiser, would you recommend the penny wheels?
Hey, they're good! I'd recommend them but if you wanted a wheel with a cool graphic on it then I'd suggest something else. Haha.
nah just looking for a smooth ride, and they're pretty cheap, might grab a set. Thanks!
4:59 that'd be a good start to a skate game
Any wheel bite on this setup so far?
Very minor!
Did you use a skateboard deck
Yes
You are good at grip taping😎
Good video. Get both one for tricks one for cruising.
