So, squaring up is to show like you may go underneath on the dodge, but the inside roll will be more effective and protect the stick better. If you’re dodging on a shorty, go ahead, but keep your stick protected when dodging on the pole. I usually step away and look up like I’m going to pass. To each their own though. It’s not wrong if it works. I usually think about stepping away and squaring a player up as something to be done up top or on the wing against a shorty.
