    FWIW, at almost any US Aldi, if you forgot your quarter, they will be happy to loan you one or an open basket. You don't have to walk around holding everything. ;-) Just ask nicely at the register and they will be happy to help you out.

      I didn't know that. I've never tried to ask before, just figured if I forgot it then it was on me.

    I love Aldi’s vanilla brioche bread! We make French toast with it. They also have Keto bread. Absolutely fabulous !! I love Lidl lamb chops and ground lamb. So delicious 🤤.

      Omg! 😋🤤 I've seen the vanilla brioche and it looks really good but I've never tried it.

    I’ve never bought electronics at Aldi but I do love their Aldi Finds section. I bought a toy organizer that I priced elsewhere for almost double what I paid, planners, candles, and even a beach chair.

      They had some really nice planners this year but I'd already bought mine from 5 below. I've never tried their candles, but I have their wax melts, which I wasn't too impressed with. They do have nice toys and things like that though, which I didn't mention.

    Ty for this Video- LIDL just opened in My Town in NJ (the chirping of smoke alarm- low battery -was a bit distracting) 🤷🏼‍♀️

    I am very lucky. I have them both less than 1 mile down the street. I go to both because I am vegan. And I feel that Aldi is cheaper on fruits and vegs but they don’t have all the vegan options at Aldi. Lidi does have the best rosemary bread!!!

    Here in the UK I think Lidl has stayed closer to its German origins. We have Aldi Sud here. Until recently I had only seen one place which had both Aldi and Lidl.

    Well, when I saw the thumbnail I said well she's not in Las Vegas. I love Aldi when they first arrived in St. Louis, MO I helped get their employees I work for the employment office. I've never heard of Lidl. Back when Aldi came to St. Louis the employees had to remember all the prices and had to pass a test unlike now, but they paid well. I just left Houston so I have experienced Aldi's recently. Lidl pastries sound good. I did experience Wegmans when I lived in VA. that store is definitely one I would like to expand to other areas.

    I can attest to the quality of the products at Aldi’s. The cereal is as good as the name brand. I love Aldi’s. An Aldi employee informed me that Aldi closer to Walmart is more inexpensive.

    Danielle, that was a very good review. It was very helpful knowing what type of item is best to buy from one store or the other. Now I'll be cautious about buying appliances at Aldi, and look for my tools at Lidl.

    Hi from Germany! Over here the food market is very competitive . Even great supermarket chains have their own discounter knock-offs. So there are at least 5 different discounters like Aldi and Lidl, fighting hard to get customers (plus 4 big supermarket chains who have their own „cheap“ shop brands in addition to several name brands). That said, when comparing quality and price between each of them, Aldi stands out as a winner on most items, Lidl being just behind them. There might be others with lower prices on some products, but if so, the quality is lower. In Germany Aldi and Lidl are known to fight very hard with producers to get highest quality at lowest possible price. BTW last year Aldi kicked out a manufacturer of sausages and meat, because he delivered products of lower quality. It was a matter of one week that you could not see one single item of this manufacturer in the shops. They were replaced by a different producer in no time. Aldi and Lidl have quite strict quality control, many manufacturers of their store brands are the same ones that produce nation wide known name brands.

    • @DanielleLaShawn
      @DanielleLaShawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe that, and I agree that Aldi is the clear winner for most items but Lidl has them beat on a few things. Aldi is still my favorite to this day though.

    I enjoy going to both stores in my opinion. I think I can make out pretty good going there in terms of groceries. As far as the alcohol I tend to lean towards the beer sold at Aldi's versus Lidl. Very good entertaining video. Very informative 👍🏾😁

    I shop both stores and really like the meat/fish selection at Lidl better. I also like their personal care selection and laundry selections. I do love the Aldi "Aisle of Shame"! Aldi socks for men and women are the best I've ever purchased, no matter what kind - wool, winter, cotton, etc!

    A little late with a comments. I live in Jersey. Prices are on par with each other. Stock in Aldi is better. Quality, Aldi has a slight edge. With that said. I prefer Lidl as a better option for me since I have no patience to wait in the long lines at Aldi and Lidl is bit cleaner. Most Aldi’s are bit messier due to volume of customers.
    You were on point with most of your observations.

    • @DanielleLaShawn
      @DanielleLaShawn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting. Until the recent price hikes the Aldi locations where I live (MD) were cheaper, the lines are typically long at both Aldi and Lidl unless you shop off-peak, and I would say the Aldi that I frequent is definitely cleaner than the closest Lidl. I didn't factor into my analysis that these variables would change between cities, states, and regions. Thanks for your comment, you provided an interesting take.

    Lidl this is not a good start
    Lidl in Belleville New Jersey do not honer Lidl 10 dollars coupons and sales;
    If you see and ask for, you have to return your stuff and scan again...
    They either claim they forgot to scan or the scan is not working.
    It happened to me and 3 other customers when I was there.
    Looks organized with the word from upper management.
    They Lidl also haz at the entrance the flyer from past week; you get that and think you get good sales but you don't, you had the wrong flyer and now you will be embarrassed to question.
    If you do question you will be embarrassed again, because you got the wrong flyer...
    The cashers are trained not to help and prompt over sales via phone app.
    Lidl this is not a good start.

      I do find that I get overcharged frequently because the prices are incorrect or not updated for the current sale. I bought ground turkey there yesterday and had to get a refund because I was overcharged. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I definitely agree that they need some help with organization.

      You are very nice!
      However what they do and may look like mistakes or lack of organization; not keeping up with sales or placing items on wrong shelves or putting handy old flyers is done by design...
      Let me know when these mistakes are in our favors. Did you ever got an item on sale not being on sale, or any mistake to be in your favor? No!
      They teach their workers, people like me and you to take advantage from us to make profits bigger for the owners.
      And what happens if the workers don't comply? Well they loose their jobs?
