I made a very small goal of 5 since I knew I was having my son this year. Yet with having a baby I did manage to read 7 books and working on my 8th now. Trust me me sleep deprivation with a baby doesn’t go hand and hand with free time to read. Maybe one days I can set a goal of 60 books. Lol

I usually make my Goodreads goal low because school keeps me busy. I like to make it attainable because it keeps me reading throughout the year without stressing too much about reaching that goal.

For the past 2 years I set my goal around 50ish books, this year I did 35, because I knew I'd be working more and I just didn't have the time like I did last year. I'm happy to say that I not only got to my goal, but also surpassed it. I'm now 38 of 35 books, hoping to have at least 45 by the end of the year.

My goal used to be 100 books a year and then that was too much when working full-time so I brought it down to 52 a year for the past two years. This year I went 110: 52 books, 52 graphic novels/comics, and 6 nonfiction books. It's working so far. I'm at 81 right now and I feel like that's a pretty good number. I feel confident that I'll accomplish my goal by the end of the year. ❤️

I don't think I've ever beat my goal without editing it right before the end of the year (lolll). And this comes from me at one point this year being 9 books behind schedule this summer! I set mine at 36 because I was working on my bachelor's degree and I just hit 70 over the weekend. 38% of those are books I listened to, which is something I tend to do when I'm overwhelmed with whatever class I'm doing. I get a little break until February when I start my masters but my goal for 2020 is going to be low like this year! It's nice to hit it early on and then not worry about it for the rest of the year!
I am actually shocked with my Goodreads goal this year! I started at my university and got more hours at my job so I set the goal at 50 thinking that would be hard to reach. Well I have had to continuously make my goal higher cause I keep reaching it! So, far I have read 109 books. More than I can ever remember reading!

I just read The Beautiful, and I would put it more as a mystery/thriller than anything. Very atmospheric, dark, sexy. A strong as hell female protagonist. Not nearly as vampire based as I was expecting, but it took all the good parts of Twilight and wrote them how we wanted it to be.
I set my Goodreads goal this year for 300. I exceeded that and reset it for another 300. I have read 545 books this year so far. I have slowed down a lot over the last month or two, because I have been writing a lot more. I will probably set my goal way lower next year since I hope to focus more on my writing projects. I loved The Raven Cycle series and hope to reread it soon. I own Jonathan Strange and hope to indulge it soon.

Last year, my Goodreads goal was 52 books. A book a week. I also worked from home and had a good bit of time to read whenever I wanted. I read 98 books! Sure, some were short and sweet, but I also read some thick babies. Haha!

This year my goal is 150 with zero books on the tbr for November because of Nanowrimo and I'm currently at 140 :) So while I am proud of that, it also took quite a few years to work up to that. My first goal a few years ago was 100 and that was such a struggle to reach (even though my average page count was super low), and my second years goal was 50 with double the average page count of the year before. For me its hard to make myself use my free time to read over surfing the web or watching netflix or something without having a goal I want to reach

My initial reading goal was 30 books but when I hit that mark in August already I raised the goal to 40. I have 6 more to go now and I'm nervous because there's only two months left and school is stressful and usually during exam phases I don't get around to read more than 2 books a month. However, I'm happy with how many books I've read so far anyway, even though it doesn't sound like a lot compared to most booktubers or people in this comment section. Last year, I had a very bad reading year with only 10 books! So this year's been a success either way.
You read FAR more books than I so goals are good to shoot for but as long as you get near the target "no worries"! You are a great book "recommender" - apparently not a word.... at least for me. I buy books that you rate 4 stars and up!

I am so SO behind my goodreads goal. I normally am behind this time of year, but not by this much. And I can always catch up and meet or beat my goal. I don't think I'm gonna be able to this year. My goal this year is 170 books - last year was 165, I add 5 each year - but I've only read 53 books. I still haven't added the fanfiction I've read - because I do count them as well - but I just haven't read as much this year as I usually do. I started a new job, my family home is in the middle of a remodel, and there have just been so many things going on this year that has taken away from my reading time.

I'm 25 books away from my goal. But I read a lot, and fast, so I dont worry too much.
I am so SO behind my goodreads goal. I normally am behind this time of year, but not by this much. And I can always catch up and meet or beat my goal. I don't think I'm gonna be able to this year. My goal this year is 170 books - last year was 165, I add 5 each year - but I've only read 53 books. I still haven't added the fanfiction I've read - because I do count them as well - but I just haven't read as much this year as I usually do. I started a new job, my family home is in the middle of a remodel, and there have just been so many things going on this year that has taken away from my reading time.
I have never beaten my goodreads goal 😅
I always reach my # goal. I know what I can read for the year and pretty much stick to that (50). My goal that I don't always reach is 5 classic lit books and 5 non fiction. I can't win them all. 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️😁

Last year my goal was 50 books and I read 63. That was the first time I reach my goal. This year my goal is 75, and I don't think I'll reach it. But I'll keep my goal at 75 until I reach it. Mostly I just like knowing how many books I've read in a year

I beat my goodreads goals usually. But that is because I'm not above reading 30 picture books on new years eve
My good reads goal was 25, but I only started that goal on June so I have read 22 so far! I also just finished the beautiful, it was amazing!!! I think the next book is going to be even better!!!

I set my goal for my age each year and aim for 50 if I hit it by my mid-year birthday. Made it to 48 and 50 the last two years, but I'm only at 24 out of 29 (😬) now.. ah well lol
My goodreads goal is always lofty as it is always 200 and I have only beaten it 2 out of the 8 yrs that I've been on Goodreads
I always set my GR goal a little lower than what I expect, so I always complete the goal 😂
If you want to succeed with your GR goal, Just read graphic novels, mangas or short stories. I always do that when I'm in a rush

I always go over my goodreads challenges last year my goal was to read 100, I read 147 then this year I knew I’d be working more so I made my goal 70 I have already read 101
My goodreads goal was 30 books and now I already finished 37 books so far 🤗🤗 (I had some bad reading years in 2017 and 2018 so at the beginning of this year 30 books seemed really challenging for me)

This is my first year setting a goal, so I went for 100, so far I've read 119 books and I'm excited to read more this summer holidays (school is out in four weeks for me)
I have read 75 books and my goal was 70 so I am quite happy. I have an inner desire of getting to 90 books but I don´t care that much :)
My only reading plan I made for myself was reading at least one book a month that wasn’t a YA fantasy because that’s pretty much 90% of what I read this year 😂
Actually my original goal for this year was 60 books , but I actually read 83 books by now so I changed my reading goal to 100 and if I keep reading as I've reading this year I will beat this goal for sure

Last year I've beaten my goodreads goal by 10 books, this year I've already beaten it by 5 books so with 2 months left, we'll see. Granted my initial goal this year was 52 books, so maybe in 2020 I should actually challenge myself....
So: yesterday I was in the bookstore. And LOW AND BEHOLD ‘the toll’ by Neil schuesterman is lying on the SHELVES. So I’m googling and it’s supposed to come out the 5th and yet THERE IT WAS IN THE STORE.
