I spent 2 days solo in my kayak chasing splake trout in one of my favorite lakes in Northern Minnesota, even caught a surprise fish. It was a great relaxing time. Music: Audionautix
Reminds me of countless treks back in for beaver removal as a Federal ADC agent. Too old now , but I enjoy going again through your camera !! Thank you !
Nice fish! When I lived in Wisconsin, I used to make trips up your way to fish trout lakes off the Gunflint Trail - along with a few near Isabella. Would carry my float tube into those lakes. Most I won't mention (out of respect) but I always did well at Thompson and I always wanted to fish Divide..... Great country up there!
Thanks, glad you liked it. Not in the BWCA, just close. This is a pretty small lake, and gets winter ice fishing traffic, but, summer its a chore fighting swamps and bugs, still well worth the effort though. I just love the isolated lakes that you don't see much traffic.
I have a very understanding wife, she puts up with and encourages all my hunting and fishing adventures, sometimes she comes with, but most times I'm solo.
Tried both small jointed Rapala, and spinner with salted minnow. If they don't go for the rap, I go minnow, but they are good at stealing minnows from the spinner without getting the hook.

How do you escape your family. Mine would somehow hunt me down and yell from the forest that they need a favor

How deep is your lure
About 8-10 feet, summer drives them deeper as water warms.
