Sir, you are amazing! Even creating custom tool parts on the fly, wow. Purple Heart is my favorite wood along with Black Walnut and Maple, especially birds-eye maple. This combination and the inlay is beautiful and elegant!
Your videos always inspire me to push myself farther and take my work to another level. Truly magnificent work! I never tire of watching you work. Please don’t stop posting and I wish you well.
Excellent craftsmanship. Could you please show or tell how you ensure that both end and side pieces are same length when you place and cut them one at a time on your table saw jig? Thanks
Do you speak Mandarin? How would you know that is he said it in a foreign language? The project was a purple hart inlay jewelry box. He showed his impression of it. This could have been done 15000 or more ways this was his This time. Im sure he's thinking how he might do it next time. In my oppion a hidden latch system would set it off even more. You cant open it unless you know the puzzle.
It gives me much solace that even the amazing Young Je sometimes measures wrong. I will remember it the next time I measure wrong, to remind myself that it can still turn out awesome (:
Really beautiful work, my friend! It looks fantastic! 😃 Purple Heart is a wood here from Brazil... It's really beautiful, isn't it? 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Apologizing if I missed it, but how did you get the strip of light accent wood in the middle of the purple heart inlay strips? It's such a thin delicate layer. Very beautifully done!
Very humbling to watch..thank you for another beautiful project! Is there a significance to using the cold press glue, as opposed to a good quality wood glue? In Europe, our wood glue is white, and it sets almost completely clear (I believe in the US/Canada you prefer a yellow tinge)..is that why you chose the other glue?
I googled cold press veneer glue as I'd never heard of it before. Titebond's web site says it is an alternative to contact cement. It has a fast set time, clear glue lines, and none of the nasty chemicals that contact cement has. Looks like a good use for the inlays as you can put one in, have it set up quickly, and move on the the next one without worrying about dislodging a previous strip because the glue hasn't set up yet which would the case with white glue.
while I appreciate your skill I can't help think that what looks like 3/4inch stock is way overkill for a jewelry box. I made 3 for friends last Christmas and used old cedar fence posts resawn to 8mm thick and 2 internal trays, all dovetailed. The box proved plenty strong enough.
Stunning. Just an amazingly elegant design. Thanks
Simple elegance. Looks good.
Beautiful. Simple and Elegant 👍👍👍 . Thanks for sharing

@@jimmccorison Thank you! I've not heard of it either, thought it might be a "new" thing or maybe a traditional way of doing things in his culture..
