Outstanding job! I had to laugh because when we first started restoring tools you would always beat me to the punch by posting the same project the day before me! 😂. I think I prefer the German models over anything we produced. Amazing job!
Thanks ScoutCrafter! I don't feel so bad restomoding the German knock offs.
That screwdriver is now a thing of beauty!
Thanks! It did turn out pretty nice!
Wow, that was a real transformation Magdad, seeing how beautifully that ended up it's hard to believe how it started out ! The Purple Heart scales are beautiful and you matched the shaping perfectly, also you kept the geometry of the facets spot-on, great idea using the Sharpie. It now is deserving of the name "Perfect", top notch restoration !
A Perfect screwdriver for the "Little People" !
Thanks Andy! I'm glad you like how it turned out!
Beautiful work. The handle scales came out great. Lots of work there.
Thanks Gary!
Very nice job on that rough little but perfect screw driver. That wood for the scales really transformed to its named purple wood when you sanded and waxed it.
Thanks!
Happy St Patrick's Day and that little bugger turned out nice from trash to treasure
Thanks Larry! Happy St Patrick's Day!☘
Happy St. Patrick's Day, sweet work on Mrs. Magdad's new screwdriver and as always Chuck's supervision on the Flitz polishing 🎉
Mrs Magdad liked the purple heart! Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
What a fantastic job an outstanding finish Wood steel and brass always looks great Thanks for sharing your time and skill 👍👍🇬🇧
Thanks Brian! It was a fun project!
Great tip on marking the facet with a Sharpie to keep up with sanding. Awesome outcome! The Purple Heart looks great on there.
Thanks David!
Super job Magdad, the Purple Heart looks ravishing.
Thanks Dale!
I'm always amazed when I see the final result. Another beautiful job! Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and the entire magfamily.
Thanks! Happy St. Patrick's day!🍀
Wow! That was a spectacular, museum quality restoration! Amazing! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm glad you like how it turned out!
I've always liked those style of screwdriver. Problem is, by the time you get one; somebody has almost always used it for a chisel. The ones I have are rounded like you did. I think that is the way they came. Nice job.
Thanks Stephen. The German made ones always seem to have that squared off butt section.
Looks great Magdad. I like the scales and enjoyed seeing your Hand Dake in action
Thanks John! I had to apply a little Magdad Muscle! 💪
Beautiful mini Screwdriver Restoration Mr Magdad and Mr Chuck The both of you should sit down and lay back and Guzzle green beer and chowing down on some great corn beef and cabbage LOL ... Hey take care great video and Happy Saint Paddy's day looking forward to next weeks video
Thanks Roger! We had corned beef last night! Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
Your tool restoration videos are second to none.
Wow! Thanks! Chuck and I try to do our best!
The faceted shank really gives a distinguished style, along with the richness of the wood and brass you've created a real gem.
Thanks! I dig that faceted shank!
That was an awesome job between making new scales and the work on the blade. Excellent! 👍👍
Thanks Frank!
Very good job, I have seen several of these types of screwdrivers restored and yours is right up there with the best!
Thanks Fred!
Love that funky zydaco background music!
Thanks Joseph!
Man, that looks amazing! Great work!
Thanks Phillip!
Great job on the "Wee" little screwdriver Magdad! Now that it's so shiny after Chuck and you polished it, I'm sure the leprecaun will be keeping it in his treasure stash. LOL 😊👍
Thanks! It was a fun project!
Great job boys. You’ve done yourselves proud on this one. Happy St Patrick’s day to you all.
Thanks Gayle! Happy St Patrick's Day!☘
Happy Paddys day.
Thanks for watching!
It looks gorgeous! Great restoration
Thanks!
That turned out darned nice!
Thanks! It was a fun project!
Belt sander section on the metal was the second best part. It drowned out the background music.
Of course the best part was the completed tool. 🤠
Thanks for watching Mark! Sorry you didn't dig the music.
Masterpiece Magdad! I’ve seen quite a few Perfect Handle restorations and yours is absolutely the best. And, tiny has to be more difficult, at lest for my mitts. Thanks!
Thanks Stan! I'm glad you like how it turned out!
Nice work as always. I've never seen purple heart wood before.
Thanks! This was the first time I've worked with it.
Most Beautiful Perfect Handle.
Screwdriver I've Ever Seen !
Newk from Kentucky
Thank Newk!
"Everyone's favorite, the Dake"...I mean, The Vice. That's a little work of art.
Thanks Hal! The vise and a little Magdad Muscle!
Turned out great.
Thank you!
Great job on that screwdriver. Looks awesome. 👍👍❤...
Thanks Larry!
That is a very cool little screwdriver and you did such an amazing job with it! I like the idea of using the vise to preform the outline of the scales. Nice work MagDad!
Thanks! I bet the factory did something similar.
Beautiful job and love the choice of wood for the scales 👍 it really compliments that screwdriver 🤩
Thanks! I'm glad I remembered I had that purple heart!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Very nice job on the screwdriver, love the scales.
Thanks Tony! Happy St. Patrick's day!🍀
I have a bunch of these that I need to redo. Definitely using this video for motivation!
Give one a try! Keep in mind it may take you a few tries to get results you like.
That wee screwdriver is now a display piece love that color of scales . Thanks .btw dont drink green beer for st pat's day that should be a crime
Thanks Douglas! No green beer for me!
Great Job!!!!
Thanks Kenneth!
Purple Heart.. Nice!
Thanks! It was fun trying a new to me wood!
Que belleza de resultado. Que San Patricio siga cuidando sus habilidades.
Thanks! Happy Saint Patrick's Day! 🍀
Another fantastic job.
Thanks Stewart!
Outstanding job.
Thanks!
Nice one Magdad!
Thanks Greg!
Nicely done!
Thanks!
Thank you a for a fantastic video and restoration, a beautiful wee screwdriver. I have been subscribed to your great channel for a while and have enjoyed your videos immensely, your Flea market finds are a great watch. You can’t have enough tools👍🤗, I found a similar wee flathead screwdriver at a car boot sale( flea market) although it is a ratchet drive and the shaft is bent it still works after a good clean and a lot of Leprechaun Sauce known here in N.Ireland (WD40) 🤣
Thank you again and take care
Sam
I'm glad you enjoy the channel Sam! I'd love to see some photos of your project! 357mdad@gmail.com
I just sent you an email there👍 hopefully it went through 🤞
Pot o' Gold!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
Looks great
Thanks Mike
HANDS DOWN the best Perfect Handle Screwdriver. Period. Between the tool, the purple heart and my heritage 🍀, I thoroughly enjoyed this Magdad.
I'm glad you like how it turned out! Happy St. Patrick's Day!☘
Better than new
Thanks!
I’d like to own it, nice job
Thanks!
I have that same screwdriver. Haven't restored mine yet.
Replacing the scales is challenging. Using the vise to form them to the metal helps a lot!
Chuck told me he was a descendant of leprechauns.
LOL Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
I just did a small one like this as my first attempt at a perfect handle. Wish I had gotten that vise crushing tip about 3 weeks ago.
Why not peen the brass pins to hold them in place?
Thanks for watching Jim! I have had no luck with peening.
Great work. If I was going to use the screwdriver I would thin the faces of the screwdriver, It seems too thick for the width of the tip. Maybe it is just the camera fooling me, or maybe you have some thick slotted screws to use it with.
for watching Walter! I tested the screwdriver on several screws and the tip fits great. Having lots of old screwdrivers around means you can always make a custom tip for a particular job.
WoW!
Thanks Jerry!
"Shillelagh for sale. Can double as screwdriver. Bargain price; three bottles o' Guinness and a Four-leaf Clover" 🍀
Fair price Mark!
@@357magdad Look what dat leprechaun made me do, now!
You knocked that one out of the park mate. A stunning transformation. That Purple Heart looks amazing with the polished steel.
Thanks Shedman!
Beautifully done MagDad. The facets are amazingly sharp. Clever trick on using the vise to make the impressions on the scales. I will remember that one!
Thanks! I bet the factory used the same technique.
🍀🪛🍀 Purple Heart and Brass look great together! Maith Video 🤠👍
Thanks Vic!
Great video. Now I feel up to tackling my own beater Perfect Handle with beater handles. Just one thing, though. I think that writing said Jimmy DiResta. Now we'll never know.
Thanks Chuck! Go for it!
Exceptional job...smart move using the vice to make the impressions that's a keeper move for me now...🖖
Thanks! I bet the factory had a similar method.
Beautiful work Magdad! It looks great, especially with the Purple Heart scales. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks John!
Beautiful restoration. I think that of the small perfect handle vintage screwdrivers, the small ones like you have must be the most rare. I'm glad you saved this one and made it look so good. By the way, after watching so many Magdad videos, its apparent to me that a Dremel is a really valuable shop tool for any tool restorer. Thanks.
Thanks Pat! I am always on the lookout for the tine perfect handle screwdrivers at the sales. I don't know what I'd do without my rotary tool!
Wow! That looks awesome. Great project. ☘️☘️☘️
Thanks Robert! Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
Magnificent work my friend. Certainly have talent doing this work
Thanks Timmy! Cleaning up old tools is fun!
Well done Bud!! Stamp SIMANCO on there and give it to Mom!!☻
Thanks RoadKing! She liked those purple heart scales!
Happy St. Patrick s Day! Great job as alway! Those scales fit perfect.

Nice!! Love the Purple Heart wood. It just gives it an extra pop.
Thanks Barry!
Very nice. I think the Purple Heart looks quite good.
Thanks Larry!

Happy Saint Patty's Day to you both thank you for the video
Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
Beautiful. Great job as always.
Thanks Ben!
Great job! I love perfect handle screw drivers.
Thanks Kenny! Me too!
Beautiful! Really good video this week!
Thanks John! I'm glad you liked it!
Who needs a Dake when you have Lepracon fingers. 🍀
Thanks Chuck! Go for it!
A very nice restoration for your growing collection!
Thanks Steve!
Beautiful! Great idea with the scales and the vise.
Thanks Drew! I bet it is similar to how the factories did it.
Great job, Happy St. Patricks day.
Thanks! Happy St. Patrick's day!🍀
Have a safe Paddy’s day. Tell Chuck not to get to blitzed tonight.
Happy St. Patrick's day!🍀
Holy moly, that’s gorgeous. Purple Heart is beautiful wood. Nice job magdad. We cooked out corn beef and cabbage yesterday. I always look forward to that. In another town south of me, the tradition is to drink green beer and get rowdy on st patties day. I won’t be doing that because I’m not 25 anymore and I don’t want to pee green tomorrow. Thanks.
Aww go for it anyway!
You only live once i say go for it BTW TIKTOK says peeing green foam in the morning is good for your health
Thanks Joe! Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
That's the coolest screwdriver I've seen.
Thanks Terry!
Great Job! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
That came out very nicely - very cool!
Thanks!
Very pretty little screwdriver.
Thanks Mike!
This is some of your finest work.
Wow! Thanks Andy!
Great job looks too nice to use.
Thanks Robert!
That looks better than new. Very well done. Making new scales for these always takes a lot of time.
The purpleheart and brass look really good together.
Dave.
Thanks Dave! Form fitting the scales with the vise makes the job a lot easier!
WOW, Magdad, that is the best wood prefect handle resto I've seen! That even edges out Scoutcrafter's and he is the GOAT!
Wow, thanks!
Looks better than new
Thanks Mitch!
That was a beautiful and perfect restoration, looks great!
Thanks Larry!
Great restoration
Thank you!
Such a beauty!
Thanks Eric!
Wow. That purple heart looks amazing. Excellent work and Happy St. Paddy's day. Cheers
Thanks Joe! Happy St Patrick's Day!☘
That is beautiful. Lots of fun and very well done. Thanks so much for sharing and have a good one.
ToolScouter! It was a fun project!
Amazing. I have an old HD Smith catalog. It says the scales are riveted on and lock in under pressure. I wonder if they're referring to a similar proces.
Thanks Alex! I think the factory used a similar method.
Very nice work M.D... Any leprechaun would be proud to own that... Those handles turned out beautiful...
Thanks Gary!☘
🍀🍀🍀Excellent!
Thanks! Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
@@357magdad Thank you! You too!
C’mon Magdad, what did we do to you to deserve that god awful music, on loop, for 13 minutes. I think I have the same screwdriver with the same pitting. It’s only 4” long and I can’t find any markings but it sure looks the same. I’ve put off restoring it for fear of ruining it but now I’ve seen you do it I think I’ll give it a go. The scales on mine are in about the same condition as the good one was on yours so I don’t want to remove them. I’ll let you know how I get on. Cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺
Sorry you didn't like the St. Patty's Day music Stuart! Good luck on your wee screwdriver!
@@357magdad Thanks Magdad😂😂
That is a beautiful restoration Magdad. Wow! That purple heart is beautiful. Nicely done sir. Happy St. Patty's day☘️
Thanks Ivan! Happy St. Patrick's Day! 🍀
