Start your descent on approach a little bit earlier. As soon as your even with the numbers on downwind, power to 1500-1700, set flaps 1 and maintain 85 kts. Turning base set flaps 2 maintain 75 kts. Turning final set flaps 3 and maintain 65 kts. That should help with the shuttle approaches!
The 172 G1000 is one of the planes with CFD simulation enabled since a little while ago but I see from the changelog of this mod that they disabled it and took the old config files as their base for the mod.
This new mod and also the Bagalu Mod having the doors and windows and close and other goodies makes this 172 pretty Awesome and aving a few hours maybe a little more in different varients in the 172 .
Second go around was a bunch better !!! Windt conditions really effect this Lil plane trying to coordinate wind speed pitch altitude glide slope is a chore for folks like you and I with little seat time ...I got the Just flight version of thus plane and love it....However last weekend I lost the ability to use the world map entirely it's kinda pink and yellow has a b c d airspace markers like a sectional map.. Just jacked waiting it out cause I don't know what to do at this point.... Great vid !!!
I have yet to find the effectiveness of rudder pedal control on the ground to be accurate with any of the flight sims, they are overly sensitive. With real aircraft nose wheel steering on the ground has a very solid feel to the rudder pedals making it very easy to control the aircraft. Even during the takeoff roll directional control with the rudder pedals has a very solid feel. MSFS and X-Plane have done a very poor job simulating rudder pedal control on the ground during taxi and the takeoff roll.
@@antonioiozzi291 Unfortunately how well a flight control works is greatly impacted by how well the coding has been written to represent a response by the control input.
@Lonnie Bruhn I'm referring to the aerodynamic response of the aircraft not control sensitivity. For example, when you bank an airplane, it should cause adverse yaw (the movement of the nose towards the rising wing) due to the increased lift caused by the lowering of the aileron on one wing. Another example would be during a power off glide, left rudder is required due to the reduced slipstream.
If you use the default you will have opening doors and windows. Thespiral notepad in ther pocket, click om the spiral and you will get a lot more nice bits.
You should be able to taxi without much rudder input at all. Also since sim update 8 or 9 the physics of the plane got alot more accurate. The climb speeds and cruise power setting are jut about bang on. But I'll give the mod a go and see if it's necessary or not
I find the rate of climb is a bit high. Over 1000ft/min is way above what the POH says. I just started taking lessons so I'll have to pay more attention to what the real plane does. I do feel like the drag of the flaps is much better with this mod. I was hoping the landings would be less floaty because if I come in at 65kts I can flare at the numbers and float past the 1000' marks.
@@TurboNeon185 kind of weird. At full power and pitching for 74 knots I climb out anywhere between 500-1000 fpm depending on the weight of the plane. Not sure why you're climbing at that rate.
@@mrboss20ten That is weird. I fill the tanks and put 170lbs in both front seats to mimick the real world condition and climbing out at 80kts I'm at 1000fpm. Sometimes 1100. 🤷🏻♂️
@@TurboNeon185 very interesting. I fly mainly in the carribean because that's where I'm from so density altitude is usually higher than most other places. But real interesting.
yeah, pretty sure that's not torque - most of their planes try to weathervane into the slightest wind... while they should be firmly on the ground.... one of the bigger problems w the ground handling right now, along with super twitchy rudder that turns into super ineffective rudder after landing ;)
Yeah the live weather is completely broken, especially with their janky "turbulence" implementation that is just wind gusting back and forth several times per second causing incessant tail wagging.
idk, i use the default c172 w/ g1000 and it doesnt like to move right when going down the runway. i have to use full rudder and even then it doesnt want to work right. no problem in the air. might just be msfs
You're a great teacher. I bought SMOOTHTRACK but can't get it working. John Goering explained it in one video but not working. Close but not working. Would you help John out by explaining how to make it work?
I'm new to MSFS, and (as others have said) I'm SO disappointed with the wind effects in this sim. Getting yanked around like that while taxiing in light wind is absurd. Then on that takeoff roll, you had maybe a 1kt crosswind component; you should have needed a fair amount of right rudder to keep it straight, and certainly not left rudder. Also I've yet to do any light GA flight in anything higher than calm wind and not be fighting sickening turbulence the whole time. :(
I despise glass cockpits and use them as little as possible. I hope they do the classic version. And I flew the Warrior and the Archer in my initial flight training in flight school. Never liked the Cessna that much but will fly it if I need to. Easier to find one of them to rent than a nice Archer, locally anyways. Greg
Why live weather? You can eliminate that variable easily by using preset weather. Sorry, but quite frankly, this was little help in evaluating the mod. But, most importantly, I am now aware of the mod and can give it try. Said and done -thank you once again
Permanently broke c172, this wont load, then removing also removes default c172 from the sim and even reinstalling doesn’t work.. IVE WASTED HOURS ON TUIS GARBAGE!!!

My take off and landings with this mod are pure comedy the effects of wind make this thing unflyable heck damn near un taxiable
Thanked for the update, I was hoping someone would do this. This gentleman did some great upgrades for XPlane 11 planes.

Yes I find the wind has way too much effect on the amount of rudder needed on the ground. And it's the same with or without this mod.
Great video! Thanks for this concise update. Looking forward to SU11

Yes what you say is true. In my opinikn even joystick are generally too sensitive.

Ground handling is an issue in fs2020, and its such a challenge keeping it on the runway during take off or landing, no matter how you adjust it.
I am also noticing a lot of stuttering lately. I’m consulting previous TH-cam videos to fix the issue. I’m interested in what you find to fix that.

Is there any reason why a lot of MSFS aircraft don't have fully realistic flight models? Especially something like a C172 which is rather easy to fly.
They have improved most models that come with the simulator including the 172 since it first came out.
