Dan It's so sad that people don't appreciate how much effort and time goes to create a video or even taking a simple photo. some times a very simple picture of the sunset can take so much effort and time like waiting for hours in a certain place to capture it of running to reach a certain place on time to capture it. One time i ran 2 Km sprinting to go to the beach to capture the sunset and i reached exactly on time and took the picture, after i returned i showed it to my friend and he told me "it's good" in a it's normal/it's wasn't that hard to take the photo way, and it literally destroyed me. Imagine a video like this capturing footage everyday for 50 days and trying to get the perfect shot every time. Adding to that trying to edit them to fit all together and look good, choosing the right music, colour correcting, and each one of those things can take up to 5 hours or even more. After all of that, trying to export it several times because every time the program crash or something goes wrong. Seeing a simple outcome doesn't mean it was easy to make. :)
The music you chose for this...beyond perfect. Your shots were wonderfully constructed for each change in the music. Beautiful film art...just spectacular.

Great moving images there, Sawyer. Any of these could be a building block for a feature movie. I don't know if you are familiar with Detour, a 1940s public domain movie. It could definitely be remade today with lots of drone footage. The basic story is very good and it could be altered a bit to make it a bit better.
Your sense of beautiful moving shots matched with very recognizable scenes is inspiring, nice job. As a drone pilot my worry is that you shoot wayyyy to many "risky shots", if not totally against the FAA rules, OK. But others watching will want to do the same thing without correct waivers and contributes to the growing resentment of these tools that make the nice videos. Still love the compositions though.

I think it is forbidden to fly drones in parks in the USA. Maybe that's why. Although I thought it was also illegal to fly them in the city, over cars, people etc... it is legal to fly them somewhere?
Daniella3d There is a law for National Parks, you could face up to 6 months in jail! But state parks and wilderness areas are still open for exploration.
+Daniella3d +Reagan Actually, it is now illegal to fly drones in wilderness areas too (and you can get a huge fine for doing it). It is because of the "no motorized machines" in wilderness areas. Also because drones disrupt the wilderness character and disrupts other people and wildlife. Still, there are some areas that aren't wilderness areas where you can fly a drone.
This was so aesthetically pleasing. Loved the shots and the music! There were certain shots where I just had to pause the video for a second to appreciate the view.

When people say they love Los Angeles, and that they want to move to L.A, they mean all that area, not just what is qualified as “Los Angeles”. Most people that dream about living and being successful in Los Angeles, are people abroad. They’re not Americans, they don’t know exactly what is what about our cities, only thing they know are that they’re big, famous and beautiful. And some Los Angelenos who say that the city is overrated and filled with bums, that’s what pretty much every large city is. L.A has more than 19 million people, naturally there is going to be crime and poverty. But in general, that’s not what Los Angeles is. That’s the Ghetto parts, better known as East/South Los Angeles. Still, the place is way safer than what it was back in the 90s and early 2000s. Improvements must be made, but it’s not as bad as some like to portray it. There are homeless people in Paris, in London, in Rome, in Vancouver, in Shanghai, in Sydney and so on. Greetings from a New Yorker btw.

Familiarize yourself with the local law and FAA regulations. A lot of the stuff I am seeing here is at least borderline illegal. Flying over people and roads/highways, in downtown LA between buildings, next to a power plant, hovering around a helipad @10:54, and here's the kicker -- @5:45 a helicopter zooms by while you continue flying forward undisturbed. This is what got quadcopters (aka "drones" by the ignorant masses) and the hobby in general in hot water; and it's why flying your "drone" will eventually be banned in the US. Beautiful video, sure.... but fly safe.
Yes this is sad. It might be that some day all the drones will have no fly zones embedded in their firmwares, so they won't fly over city etc...They could do it, it's easy to do with GPS localization and firmware.
Almost all of this is illegal. You can't fly over most LA city parks/beaches at all. Around redondo beach near the lighthouse is one of the only legal places you can fly.
