it's part of Kitri's character, you have to rehearse the character as part of the variation :) But of course it is truly impressive, it can be achingly hard to keep that smile on!
Now that Novikova is finally Prima Ballerina!!! I am looking for her everywhere. Definitely my favourite Russian (is there any other kind?) ballerina. I also love Zahkarov and Osipova but Novikova has it all.
Okay everyone there is no sickling period nor winging. There is a position in Ballet called Sur le Cou de Pied that is the foundation of teaching a dancers foot to point with the heel forward and the toes back. There are also floor exercises that they go through for 8 years to deal with the feet so that they align properly from the knee to toes. The turnout is not forced and in the vagonova school they address these and if not corrected they are put out of the school. So she is gorgeous okay!!
exactly sometimes when your working on a variation you need to nail it technically before the character can come freely without worrying about the steps. Kitri I consider a great part not a role like Aurora or Odette because there isnt much character development throughout the ballet. Makarova (to paraphrase) once said its how she feels is what shapes her movement not makes it. I encourage every dancer to take a Vaganova class, you'll learn so much and learn what to focus on in all your dancing
It's because in the russian schools, they perfect one aspect, then move on, perfect another aspect, and then move on... if you'd ever taken vaganova training, you'd know that. watch a class sometime.
wait.. did you just say that you think winging can look sickled.. winging is like the total opposite of sickling. anyway i think she is very well turned out when she landed in fifth o couple of times it was a perfect fifth with the pinky toe of her front foot to the heel of the back foot.
I don't see her as sickled as having to work through her turnout, its not natural or easy for her, at least that is what I am seeing. Occasionally I have found over the years, winging/beveling can look pickled sometimes. But she works so quickly its hard to really tell, but she would never have made it this far if she were. Her russian teachers would most literally have beaten it out of her...
I am so impressed not only by her technique but how she smiles thru the whole rehersal over and over and over! I am exhausted

She has such sweetness, such natural charm. There is no artifice here. Serious and sweet. Beauty and grace.
And a damn fine dancer!
Novikova should be promoted, she is a stunning dancer! As should Kolegova and perhaps Matvienko or Osmolkina.
She was finally promoted in on June 20, 2021, long after she should have been promoted in my view.
i LOVE her entrance! she FLOATS!

Kudos to all pianist out there, playing the music to accompany the magic of ballerinas in their rehearsals.
she needs to be promoted
i ADORE HER!
.... How high is her freakin stamina 😂😂😂😂😂
美しいバレエダンサー―は星の数ほどいらっしゃいますが、この方は+世界一可愛い
Love kitri
could you possibly put english subtitles because I would love to know what she is saying? It sucks not knowing russian:(
Preciosa!! Bella!! Bravo!!!
Ну знаете, это Мариинский театр! Мало тех, кто там выживает… таких как Олеся, надо на руках носить и давать танцевать на радость театру и зрителям..

One Vaganova class?! I encourage would-be dancers to enrol in academies that teach the Vaganova method.
Какой труд,!!!!!!!!
@theamazingsoter it's called REHEARSAL darling..have u ever worked in a top company?

Oh my god! Her legs defy physics laws! That pas de bourrée! GOD!!!

Her teacher is Οlga Moiseeva....
Она, к сожалению, вчера умерла... Светлая ей память...
Великая Ольга Моисеева!!!
Her face is just, too cute, I can't.
Send help.
Olesya is utter perfection, but I am so sick of the music for Kitri I have to mute it whenever I watch anyone perform the variation.
That's pretty odd. Dance is intricately connected to the music.
@@normamimosa5991 You've never hated a song? Lots of deaf people enjoy dance. How amazing is that.
@rudik1988
i think it's when it first ges uploaded that this problem may occur...i see it fine now though!!! :-)
Does she have endless stamina?
@bwoodsfinest I'm sorry, but I can see correctly all the video!

yeah, in the passe releves?
This video doesn't play all the way...
Dancer and pianist must be exhausted after such a grueling rehearsal.
