I would never say any Pearl Jam drummer "sucked" or some such, but I am curious as to why some people comment here and on other videos that Dave Abbruzzese would not have fit in with the direction PJ has gone in over the years. How do we know? He was never given the chance to fit in. While I'm no expert, it seems that Dave is a very talented and versatile musician who can play funk, reggae, rock, jazz, etc. What evidence is there that he could not have fit in with present-day Pearl Jam?
@@jimbobaggins7553 Yeah, because we love to listen to their personal relationships rather then their musical chemistry. Also, Dave is far from right wing if you happen to follow his FB page
AMEN & Again.... Mike - David. Ament was AS much to Blame As Ed !!! Jeff was always in love WITH HIMSELF 1st One 2 Criticiz.... EVERYTHG ! Often a Jerk
It's amazing the difference in Eddie vedder's voice back then to now ... he had one of the best voices ever he still has an amazing voice, but it's nowhere near what it used to be
Eddie has been on the "gravy train" for a very long time now. Pearl Jam's setlists are primarily off their 1st 3 albums...they're living off the band they were from 1992-1995....
Thanks a lot for sharing this! Its one of the most underrated songs of the 90s🤩. Absolutely love hearing Eddie screaming his soul out of his body on each beat
Spectacular vocal performance, holy shit. Studio sound almost every time with the live concerts it seems! It’s nice that we have old concerts that were recorded and put on TH-cam.
Totally agree with you. It's about time they patch things up again. Now that Soundgarden is back, Matt should be where he belongs. It would be really interesting to see what post Vitalogy songs would sound with Dave on drums.
Yes he Is.... Google him. He Does Alotttt of Studio thgs for other artists. Then in 2010' He did a tour in the Northwest THEN over Seas w' Stevie Salis & IMF ! Stevie's a legend in the Blues world THEM My personal FAVORITE He did Studio Drums for "Pseutopia" on a Cover of Chris Cornell's. ""Seasons"" U have Got 2 check that out if No Other (the 4 artist on That recorded Cover) MADE A PERFECT STORM.... I listen to that 'Tribute' more then Chris C. doing his Own recording of his own great song he wrote...
OK.... How in the hell does this song have 11 thumbs down??👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. It must be a mistake or I'm seeing things cause this song is FAH KING Amazing!!
Pearl Jam shoul hire Dave A., at least to give Matt some drums lessons. The more I watch these olders shows the more sure about it. And the most curious is that he sounds great at Soundgarden.
Still shocked at how shallow and spiteful Pearl Jam was for not including Dave Abbruzzese in the "rock hall of fame". They should have demanded his inclusion, instead they come off as a bunch of hypocritical twats! Dave A is by far the best drummer the band ever had and PJ really has never been the same band since his departure....
Dave played angry and was perfect for PJ early in their career. One of the best for sure.
It's incredible how different and amazing pearl jam sounds with Dave A. on drums.
He was my favorite drummer for pearl jam
The best ever live performance of this song.... Damn good man is Pearl Jam here...
SirCloud3d DAMN RIGHT DUDE. Eddie's voice sounds SOO powerful on this performance!
I prefer the Atlanta version, but this is a good one too!
I am a fan of the Merriwether post pavilion 1998 version.
Perfect....Dave A kicked ass on that one as did the rest of the band!!
God, Dave is an amazing drummer! I know he has been gone for 20yrs but I still miss him with the band.
That snare!
Dave Abbruzzese made the SOUND and NAme of PJ base !!!!!!
I LOVE Dave!
Bring me back my 90's
Dave Rules lol
I love this song…for more than 30 years ❤
Love forever forever forever 💗💗💗💗
this tune got me through some pretty twisted thoughts!
My Favorite Pearl Jam song on top of that Amazing sound quality for a video from 94!
I get goosebumps every time I hear his voice...and see him😉😉
great concert.. take me back to another times..
Absolutely brilliant I love it.

Legendary concert!
Dave is the drummer of this band. Too bad egos got in the way.
EXACTLY ! ... Mic drop. Period.....
Ego... Singular.
He was a right wing gun fanatic in a left wing punk group ...Matt Cameron is a much better fit
@@jimbobaggins7553 Yeah, because we love to listen to their personal relationships rather then their musical chemistry. Also, Dave is far from right wing if you happen to follow his FB page
Agreed, he's awesome, very energetic!
antes de dormir,tenho q ouvir!
i've only been a fan of Pearl Jam for a couple of weeks now and this has already become one of my favorite songs ever
seems too loud !!!!! WOWWWW Dave Abbruzzese a legend!!!Mike mccrady a God!

Incredible.
and I listen "NO!" to the voice inside my head. R.I.P. Kurt.
what does kurt has to do with that?
NP2BAM this was I think days after he passed
The song talks about suicide.
The song is obviously about suicide but it came out before Kurt Cobain died
This was a fun night!
I saw them a month earlier at the Midsouth Coliseum in Memphis. Life changing moment for me.
Everyone is so focused on the drums. How about this vocal performance?
Ignore them, it's Dave's fanboys whining 😅
The best live performance of this song... and vocals as well...
Imagine Eddie decided to like, work at Auto Zone or something? And never tried singing? Good lord it’s angelic.
Spectacular vocal performance, holy shit. Studio sound almost every time with the live concerts it seems! It’s nice that we have old concerts that were recorded and put on TH-cam.
@@DaveSwart I can’t imagine that.

What do you think now?
I fucking love Stoney. 😍
So good with SBD audio
The best fucking band !!
Fucking awesome.
what a voice!
This may be one of the few times during Dave A's time that the tempo was too fast live. That happens all the time with Matt C
True artist they are, transcending time.
thinking the same thing. They have never sounded as good without him
amazing fuckin concert!!!
🤘
Not a single phone in the audience
Mike rules.
dave was the best drummer they had,
was the dumbest thing they could have done was fire him, i dont think hes even in the music scene anymore...ashame

a-w-e-s-o-m-e
Bass and snare just rip in the mix from this show.
OK.... How in the hell does this song have 11 thumbs down??👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. It must be a mistake or I'm seeing things cause this song is FAH KING Amazing!!
Dave A and his family
loving the McCready look! johnny depp ?
McCready before rehab was a bohemian raconteur - dude just absolutely shredded!!!
actually the audio is from 4/03/94 at the fox theater in atlanta... still great though
@GreenDay7dookie my mistake its actually the orpheum show, they sound very alike.
@luiscurtolo hahaha, i must be blind, i didn't see it!!!! thanks!!
2024 It's all about Dave A.
@chicoetereo its the Orpheum...... its in the videos title....
My PJ drummer ratings...kinda crass, but we all do it : Jack, Dave, original guy, Matt
no, is one pedal bro
Call me EDDIE
Hi
So fast
do caraleo...
What concert is this?
His snare sounds like an empty soup can.😅
After Dave I stopped giving a shit about PJ.
Pearl Jam shoul hire Dave A., at least to give Matt some drums lessons. The more I watch these olders shows the more sure about it. And the most curious is that he sounds great at Soundgarden.
dave's good, jack, matt, all of them are. They just go too fast in concert now. Just play fewer songs and the speed they should be.

double pedal ini mah :p
Only one, brodaah !!
