- In this video I show my new lock down system in my car. For 9 years I used tie downs to lock my wheelchair down. This new system is safer and more convenient. It eliminates a lot of time now that my caregivers and friends do not have to put on and take off my tie downs every time I get in and out of the car. I thought about getting this and I think only relying on one bolt to keep me safe freaks me out. Our wheelchairs are very heavy and in the event of an accident I wouldn’t want it to be strapped into it and thrown around the vehicle but it’s definitely very cool.

by the time they found it had emergency surgery but they couldn’t save me walking again

I have the EZ lock system in my van as well, and it is so much easier than messing with tie downs, especially when you spend the day getting in and out at every stop. Saves so much time and also I feel way more secure.

Thank you for this video. My mom is a fairly new quad and we got the EZ lock in her van. We find it to be a little complicated to get the EZ lock to latch. It could be her chair or the way it was placed underneath the chair. Nonetheless, it’s better than the manual lockdowns. Glad it worked well for you. And congratulations on your new car!👏🏽

The ezlock isa great idea, with one problem On a power chair the ezlock on the bottom of the chair is very low and the chair catches on many obstacles like doorways. I understand there is a side mount version. I travel with another person driving. I use turndowns instead of the ezlock.

Hi Zack. Can an EZ lock system be installed in the mid section of the van as well? Or is it just for the passenger seat? Also, can a mobility scooter be set up to use an EZ lock system? (Jazzy Air Lift Mobility Scooter)

Thank you for the video. We my client and I just had this installed in her new van. However we are having a hard time getting her released. We are going to call first thing in the morning (Monday) this happened on Friday after the store was closed. Did you have any issues with that? I’m wondering if it’s because she isn’t used to getting lined up good yet. You know it’s all practice. Even the manual release was giving me a hard time? Doing it manually is harder for us to unlock her than the 4 point tie downs. I think it’s going to be great when it’s all working, it worries me rite now.

I HATE the EZ Lock system. While you are right it saves time and energy, I found it extremely hard on my back. The bottom of my chair hit the top of the bracket that is mounted in the car.
