  • In this flashback from 2021, the late Kevin Samuels came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, where he spoke about growing up in the projects of Oklahoma City, and going through a lot of challenges, including beating cancer. He went on to speak about starting his TH-cam channel in 2015, and going viral for his advice, which some viewed as harsh. Kevin then explained his definition of a “high-value man,” and he went on to speak about various celebrity women, including Saweetie, Beyonce, and Megan Thee Stallion. Kevin also addressed Lori Harvey dating various celebrity men, his issues with critics, and his thoughts on cancel culture.

This interview is how I was first introduced to the Godfather himself. This is probably one of the most life changing interviews that I ever watched. Kevin not being much older than myself...he was like a father figure to me. He taught me so many things that I should have learned back in my youth. I'm going to definitely miss you Kevin. I stumbled upon Mr Samuels about 6 months ago. At first I was a little put out by his harshness. Quickly it became apparent there was deep love, faith and urgency behind his methodology. As an older Mexican American woman I had arrived at many of the same conclusions through my life's journey which included feminist leaning in my 20's, divorce, addiction, therapy, re-marriage this time to a wonderful man. I listened carefully to Me Samuels as he spoke against the hypocrisy of Oprah and social media addicted women who truely don't understand the lies they are being fed, the difference between dating in the church and the world and why marrying blue collar men is not "settling". And so much more. There is no one like Mr. Samuels. He is missed.

What he hated was fakery and the absolute false scam of vitictim-hood. It is easy to confuse macho with machismo. Macho embodies self-centered, make dominance. Machismo is the man like my husband, happily raised my sons, for up at 4am to work, brought me roses every Fri to help heal critical abuse issues yet will not be dominated, never allow his family to be hurt etc. I cannot go into everything but you are so wrong in your judgement. Being a fatherless daughter is very devastating to a young girl, and being fatherless is equally destructive to young boys. We must learn to be more patient with each other and quit the blame game. As a black man, I say this. We really need to analyze why so often we demonize anyone that simply speaks the truth to us. Our community has regressed from a social structure standpoint. Our families are broken, and we act like that's normal. We need to stop with the victim mentality and focus on what gave our people stentgth historically. And that was strong men and nuclear families. I didn't listen to Kevin until the news of his death started circulating. So, I checked him out and saw zero reason for some of the hate I saw in relation to his death. We're in a sad state culturally, and if more people like Kevin aren't revealed and listened to, nothing will change.

And the saddest part is watching Vivica A. Fox calling KS death as "Karma". Really sickening stuff. I am not racist at all, but I am glad the women in my community (Latinas) do not treat us like that. Watching my mom, my cousins, my grandmas, my aunts, and my sister treating their men with respect and dignity really makes me feel good. And of course, we must treat our ladies with respect and dignity also (reciprocity). I can see why the vast majority of my black buddies never (and I mean never) date black women. I asked them why. They tell me to just observe black women and you will see why. So I observe Vivica A. Fox comments on Kevin Samuels and I see why my black buddies don't date black women. Sad but true!

I am not even done watching this video, and I am completely impressed by the level of articulation, class, and honesty by the late Mr. Samuels. I cannot get over how people want honesty and when they get it - they are offended. Honesty is always the best policy; it brings change that otherwise would not have been considered because people are running on a hamster wheel of illusion, being misguided and lies - among other things. I may not always like what someone says (most often I do not, especially with the level of ignorance in his day and age) however, I always respect the truth, especially if it is delivered tactfully, and without malicious intent. Having a mature, honest, and respectful conversation has become a bad thing in this day, I cannot understand this. We can go on social media and bash each other, air out dirty laundry, gossip, maliciously humiliate others, (these are grown people doing this) but a person cannot say " Hey, I disagree"... " No, I do not like that" ... etc... this is Saddening.

What a great mentor Kevin was, to both men and women, I wish I had his mindset years ago. Life throws obstacles while we are balancing on the tightrope of life, that's a lesson I learnt late in life, you can plan, but one thing you must not do is become complacent.

My only regret is that he wasn't around teaching these things when I was younger. This man spoke facts about men and woman. That's why woman didn't and don't like him...even ratchet enough to be happy he has passed. I'm glad most of the masses understood and applied his coaching and made changes. And I'm sure he accomplished that

Whenever I hear an individual put all men on all women under the same umbrella I hear a person that is deflecting their own reality but they want to group us all together. Not all men can speak for every man and how they are and what they want nor can any woman. That's why I don't take any advice from anyone because we are all different with different needs and desires and preferences Etc a person giving you advice can only give it to you based on their own experiences in reality

This brother was definitely on point with the knowledge that he preached and is sad that he experienced and untimely death. He was on to something. The problem is some got offended because what he was saying was actually true. Now he certainly had a unique way of how he delivered the message, but it was message worthy of a listen….and if you consider the hand people of color have been dealt there should be standards to encourage individuals to invest more in themselves so that they will be an asset instead of a liability. We should always seek to add value and that starts with self and if you somehow think too highly of yourself but in reality your value is less than you need to check your ego at the door, men and women alike. RIP Mr. Samuels!

I never saw this brother show but I think he was onto something. I like that he was honest about his position. His thoughts as a man. Coming from the perspective of having 2 sons, single by choice and not married or a ‘baby daddy’ and a man I adore, I have a new respect for my standards as a lady who raised twin Black men who are ready for this world. They aren’t running women down to be acceptable or igotistical. That would tell a woman she’s not a lady, and he’s not impressed by their claim jumping.

Very articulate, thoughtful and most important honest about the plight of black people, especially the women who are churning out criminal thug after criminal thug. Highlighting this calamity is the only way to rectify it,......if it's even possible given the average I.Q of "urban" people.

His relationship advice was never controversial. He just said you don't have to agree with me, but most men on this level think this way... He was always about community and building black families. Keeping marriages together, and showing women that they don't have to have their standards so high. Having an average man isn't a bad thing... They can still find a good man as long as they put in the work and play their roll.
Rest in peace Kevin Samuels🐐you will be missed!

Envy is calling Kevin Samuels lame when he and his questionable co host Charl have said the same if not worst things to female guest on the breakfast club.
Watch some of their 'interviews', like the interview with Lil Mama or the late DMX's wife. Both interviews I had to switch off because his attitude and what was said was terrible.
I am not agreeing with anything Kevin Samuels said but Envy is not the one to speak on him just like Charl was not the one to speak on Bill Cosby.
