I worked 26 years, was a single parent raised my son without state help. I am disabled now and get $23.00 dollars a month. Disabled senior citizens need to eat too.
Are u receiving disability bc if you are and it's only you then they go by how much your disability check is.... Food stamps aren't meant to buy ALL of your groceries it's meant to be a subsidy to use when u use money to buy groceries.. meaning if your grocery bill is $250 and u have $227 then that $23 is supposed to come in handy 🤷🏾♀️ that's how they put it to me no matter what state you're in
I don’t understand as to how the people who are receiving Government assistance, and on Social Media BRAGGING about the checks they receive or BEGGING for money like this certain people are on TH-cam, etc., or EXPECTING for their sponsors to help them take care of their kids ALL the time, (because you better believe, they’re NOT reporting the EXTRA MONEY or GIFTS that they’re receiving to their Caseworkers), when they look like their full grown able ADULTS to work, but rather milk the Government and take advantage of other people.. I believe they want to do away with any way to teach the young of history. it's always minimal in increases, but I've helped FS friends make easy breads a few ingredients for cheap, Dollar Tree has what I use, found recipes on pinterest or You Tube.

I need to take the funds that they’re giving to these immigrants and redirect them to the senior citizens. They’ve already paid their dues and they’ve already worked and live their life. They paid their taxes and they still have to pay taxes out of their Social Security income. They should have at least $250 a month for groceries and with with the prices skyrocketing for food, it should automatically increase them to $50 extra every month. Some of these these people need certain things to go along with their food because they have certain types of medications. They need to take. We need to fix a broken system.

Your interpretation of the immigrants is what we did in Ohio at least before I retired after 31 years. I do agree that the benefit levels for senior citizens s has and always will be terrible. My reasoning for this is we do them no favors by giving them handouts the way we help is to teach them to grow a garden, cook, or to get valuable skills such as reading and basic education, so that they can get a job and learn independence. This helps them to build self esteem and pride. The handouts only destroy their dreams and their ability to rely on themselves. But humans are lazy as a whole unless they're given a reason to not be I'm not sure why no one thinks about teaching those who struggle to garden, offering community gardens, teach them to cook and to gather the skills necessary to get a job

Eggs in my area ALASKA is insanely high!! Carton of 60 eggs (5 dozens) $28.49. 18 eggs in carton $18.00 . It was insane because in February I was able to get $1 for dozen eggs 🙄

My neighbor gets $900 a month child support for one child, she lives with her parents and pays no rent or mortgage. She gets Medicaid. This 32 year old does not work and is a terrible mother. Always trying to get rid of her 10 year old by having anyone who will watch her babysit constantly and uses the child support to purchase clothes, weed, makeup and partying. Her baby daddy is a good father and only sees his child once a week because he is an over the road trucker to be able to pay this child support. He often goes without and can’t afford a house. The poor little girl is in clothes that don’t fit her anymore or depends on others to give her hand me downs while her mother has brand named everything and cigarettes. Why isn’t child support regulating this type of behavior? The child is suffering while the mother is living in luxury without having to work. This is in New Mexico btw. Seems like she’s being rewarded for doing nothing for her child.
He should take pictures of the child in I'll fitting clothes and her in her designer clothes with a cigarette in her hand. Record the child saying they live with grandparents. She has no expenses. Her parents are supporting her child. Then take her to court for either reduced payments or have $ sent to grandparents.
They do this everywhere it's sad. I paid child support for 18 years the courts are against dad's. I went in every year and didn't get no more time. I paid 700 a month.
Many women don’t go after child support due to domestic violence situations but need the snap benefits. How are these moms and kids going to be protected if they are penalized.
They get off their butts and get a job. The money is for the child or children not the mother. She can get child support and work. However, some moms can complain about not having enough money for support,but complaining to the courts about more money. When they are wasting the money! Why should those moms have the child or children, if they can't take care of them with the support money? The child or children need to be with their dads, so those moms can take care of themselves, and live the lives they want? It's only fair!

Everything has sugar and salt in them...for example a tuna pack has 400mg of salt is that healthy when a bag of chips has less salt even when chips are not healthy....sugar is in spaghetti sauce pickles etc.... can't eat or drink anything.

Buy 1 can diced tomatoes, 1 can tomato sauce, tomato paste and Italian seasonings to taste, simmer for 30 minutes. Viola, no sugar spaghetti sauce, beyond what is natural in tomatoes.

Bobby Kennedy needs to remain focused on the food companies and the USDA/FDA policies... not telling people what to buy. If companies were required to clean up their product ingredients including banning GMOs and ANY artificial ingredients, a lot of what SNAP consumers buy under regular guidelines will be less problematic by default. You're not going to ban everything sweet, but you can ensure that any marketed sweet foods and drinks are made with natural ingredients.

Why start off his stay in office with SNAP measures instead of forcing companies to clean up their products and reinstating guidelines that require them to put ALL product ingredients on the packages... including GMOs, artificial ingredients, and "natural flavors"? Make sure companies get rid of deceptive labeling practices and ensure that "organic" actually means organic. If you do that, then people are educated instead of dictated. In the spirit of education and health, he can require SNAPlicants to watch a series of informative documentaries online on the topics of what's going into the food supply and what people should look for on their labels. TONS of crap on the shelves is passing itself off as food and drink; so trying to determine for people which is and is not acceptable is going to open up a can of worms, especially when comparably few legitimate and affordable options are there to replace them. Increase incentives for choosing healthy options for consumers and farmers; subsidize organic farmers so that the price of organically grown produce goes down substantially. Implement no-pesticides policies--- at least restrict use to only natural, safe formulations. Using measures like these mentioned is how true change occurs. Peace!!

When I try to buy healthy protein bars they are actually denied and labeled as supplements and not food. It's frustrating. All the healthy foods I've gotten have been banned by snap.

I will be 76 next month. I am have a lot of health problems. I am on social security and disability. My question is how do I try to get snap. I live on less than a thousand dollars a month. It is really hard for me every month. I have never heard about snap. So I need to see how to get help. I also I have a really hard time with trying to walk. Apply for TSAP Snap food benefits. TSAP is food snap made specifically for 60+ individuals how are fully retired. The application is very short/simplified and you’ll be guaranteed 3 full years of benefits.
*In most states you can apply online & any information that’s further needed can usually be emailed to the case worker & they’ll do your interview over the phone… a lot of states don’t even require you to leave your house which is helpful. Just google the name of your state & “snap application”… I live in New York so for example I would google “New York Snap application”, you should easily be able to find your state government website & apply. Soda tastes good and has caffeine which can help people with migraines &/or lack of sleep. Chocolate is also beneficial. If they really were interested in making poor people healthier, they would lower the prices for healthier foods and raise the unhealthy food costs

I agree. Another thing we should implement is zero increase in any benefits when people on assistance get pregnant. That includes no medical coverage for the birth OR medical for the new baby. The app for Michigan- we’ve had that already. For at least a good part of the last year. It shows you when to expect your next deposit and how much and you can also apply for a debit card for your cash benefits that you can also add funds to from other sources. I haven’t done that but I have used the app for EBT and it’s nice to see how much I’m spending where
Oh it also shows offers for discounts on things like prime , Walmart delivery, Instacart..etc. it also has job listings that are local and it has education sources.
Seniors are not going to go for food stamp purchases with their phones Most seniors only know how to use their phones just for calling and answering their phones , If they want to loose their government seats they need to know that if they intend to stop seniors from buying sugary food and drinks with food stamp , that’s going to be a huge problems . Most seniors rely on foods and drinks w sugar , because it’s the only pleasure that they have in their lives . Sweet treats are small pleasure in their lives . I’m in Virginia been on Snap many years was just told my recertification period is actually two months it was due Nov 5 I applied twice was denied twice in Nov and Dec. They just said my recertification is good still so my new applications are steady being denied. I’m sharing so if you never heard bc I haven’t you can help the people. I’m so surprised and also blown.
Keep in mind that these changes are from the CURRENT DHHS administration. After January 20th with the administration changes, there will be different changes as well.
Fast food should be eliminated from SNAP benefits. Most hard working two income families can’t afford to do fast food for their kids, SNAP benefit recipients shouldn’t be able to eat fast food when they want it. I like the assistance to be given to the food banks.
So the very small raise I got on my disability cost me 20 dollars of my food stamps, plus the 1 dollar cost of living on the EBT was a double slap in the face!
I use to work in a grocery store. I would have customers come in and buy nothing but cases of soda, bologna, chips cookies etc. not one vegetable, not one item to make a proper meal. Kids got free breakfast and lunch at school… then by the end of the month they would come in with vouchers from the local food pantry because they spent all of their snap on junk. I had one lady come in and buy 6-10 can’t remember which it was a full shopping cart. Of full unsliced country hams.. and she was Bragg that’s what she was giving to her family members for Christmas… needless to say she had no SNAP left for herself the rest of the month. But you say no regulations should be put on them? I had another customer who had 2 or 3 sons received full SNAP for her household size. But she always had name brand clothes, shoes, bags, and always drove a new Lexus or another fancy vehicle. In 14=years of working at the store she had one of her sons one time. She lived with at least one of her son’s dads … they put everything in his name and reported he wasn’t living in the home but paid for it instead of child support. He had one of the better paying jobs in the local area at the time.

I just don't understand the process. I'm a single mom working 2 jobs and taking care of my disabled sister, yet I dont qualify for snap0 benefits. Yet my neighbor, who is a single male who works from home, which is a house that was given to him so he doesn't pay rent or anything. He gets snap and can afford to door dash, and Uber all his food. I'm not even exaggerating. He literally gets fast food delivered every day and gets snap. It doesn't seem right. I should just just unplug my fridge to save on electricity because there's no sense in keeping condiments cold.
In California..you can't use snap to buy premade meals. The electricity it cost to cook a roast is double what the roast cost. Fyi how do you cook if your homeless??

I am curious if anyone knew that the very people that control you're eligibility to even get any form of support the vast majority are on foodstamps and other government aid. Can you believe that ? So the one whom may put you're paperwork off or not approved you might be eating well while you work and barely make due .
I think the work for benefits program is slave labor. If they placed you , it would be different, but you have to go find a place with enough extra work to let you volunteer for 30 hours a week to receive 189.00 per month or food benefits. Whereas if these people would HIRE you or the snap office would help you GET work (they could work with the unemployment department to procure jobs), you could get off benefits completely.
I worked at a large place that hired people from welfare. She refused to do much of anything and got fired. Guess she went back on welfare. That was many, many years ago.
Since they want to eliminate soda and snacks then they will have to raise the stamps. Because real fruit juice is expensive. We're going to need more stamps for vegetables and fruits that can get pricey because we will eat more to fill full. The reason low income mothers are feeding children junk food is because we can't afford eating healthy. But in all I'm satisfied with the changes in the program as far as eating healthy.
I am sorry, I don't fully agree. I cook very healthy food and just because it's healthy doesn't mean it has to cost more money. You can cook healthy for a reasonable cost. You just have to be smart about shopping, plan your meals and actually cook and freeze meals. It can be done, It takes a little work. I know cause I do it.

Have recipients that volunteer to a garden/food bank a few hours a month to get extra good food from these extra places - obviously seniors and fully disabled people can still benefit without volunteering ??
They have a feature where you can freeze your card so you won’t get scammed it’s a headache at times cause soon as you use your card you have to lock it but it’s worth it

Our own Veterans, Elderly and Completely disabled should be priority. And temporary/ limited benefits when people do fall on hard times. Most all people on SSI and Welfare have never paid into the system. People should be self-sufficient. Too many live off the system. 🎯

People that work low income jobs still have to "pay into the system" and some have to rely on assistance to supplement that income, because they still have to pay regular rent rates and everything else. And as someone else stated, as soon as you get a raise, if their rent is income based, that goes up, along with the ever increasing cost of food...well everything really. Being behind on Child support can also garnish SSA benefits. 50%, if the beneficiary is supporting a spouse and/or child other than the spouse and/or child whose support has been ordered. • 60%, if the beneficiary is not supporting another spouse and/or child. • 55% or 65% respectively, if the garnishment order or other evidence submitted indicates the original support ordered is 12 or more weeks in arrears. ALSO Current child support takes priority over child support arrearages.
I think when us people on disability shouldn't get decrease on foodstamps when we get a damn raise on our checks like the actual frick. And our rent shouldn't go up either. We all on disability need join together and fight this ridiculousness. Literally and especially when we are on disability we get medicaid and now they wanting us to pay for medicine and doctors visits. I dont think we should pay for that at all. Were on disability they should pay for all doctor visits and medicine, and much more even pay for our gas, and other things we need. We should get a card that has a certain amount on it and be able to use that money on certain things we need in our home, food, clothes and other things. Struggle is real on disability check
My parents lived and survived on disability checks with zero help. Always paid their own bills, had extra for what they needed and wanted… raised 2 of their grand children with no help or child support. Did without extras when money was short and had extra when they were in a good spot. Not once did they get child support, or government assistance for either grand child. Didn’t even try. The only thing the did get help with was health insurance for the youngest because her birth mother just wouldn’t stay away and kept getting her kicked off my dad’s health insurance he was paying out of pocket for. My dad said there were times he lived off of pb and j so his wife,kids and grand kids didn’t do without. Before he retired he worked 2 jobs. Then tried to work as long as he could after he retired. It’s called choices.

A senior here we don’t get any raise in our EBT cards as a matter of fact on Social Security every time we get a little raise from Social Security they drop our EBT mounts and I sure don’t get that much and EBT neither thanks for the info
I don’t buy any junk when I was getting fs. I’m diabetic and thd healthy foods are expensive. I was getting $49 a month and now with the ss small raise I won’t get fs. I’m fine though. It takes me completely away from state funded programs. Which is what fs were intended to do, help you. Not let you live off of it.

Supplying snacks for school is expensive and exhausting trying to think of different things. I suggested since the same parent, randomly adds food to the can't have list, she can buy the child's snacks.

Plus who eats just lettuce and chicken that might be less calories but it certainly wouldn't be healthy; I'd at least add shredded carrots, a boiled egg, sliced cucumbers, and some diced strawberries. Which again would all add up to around 30$.

My reasoning for this is we do them no favors by giving them handouts the way we help is to teach them to grow a garden, cook, or to get valuable skills such as reading and basic education, so that they can get a job and learn independence. This helps them to build self esteem and pride. The handouts only destroy their dreams and their ability to rely on themselves. Eggs in my area ALASKA is insanely high!! Carton of 60 eggs (5 dozens) $28.49. 18 eggs in carton $18.00 . It was insane because in February I was able to get $1 for dozen eggs 🙄

My neighbor gets $900 a month child support for one child, she lives with her parents and pays no rent or mortgage. She gets Medicaid. This 32 year old does not work and is a terrible mother. Always trying to get rid of her 10 year old by having anyone who will watch her babysit constantly and uses the child support to purchase clothes, weed, makeup and partying. Her baby daddy is a good father and only sees his child once a week because he is an over the road trucker to be able to pay this child support. He often goes without and can’t afford a house. The poor little girl is in clothes that don’t fit her anymore or depends on others to give her hand me downs while her mother has brand named everything and cigarettes. Why isn’t child support regulating this type of behavior? The child is suffering while the mother is living in luxury without having to work. This is in New Mexico btw. Seems like she’s being rewarded for doing nothing for her child.
He should take pictures of the child in I'll fitting clothes and her in her designer clothes with a cigarette in her hand. Record the child saying they live with grandparents. She has no expenses. Her parents are supporting her child. Then take her to court for either reduced payments or have $ sent to grandparents.

Buy 1 can diced tomatoes, 1 can tomato sauce, tomato paste and Italian seasonings to taste, simmer for 30 minutes. Viola, no sugar spaghetti sauce, beyond what is natural in tomatoes.
The only way to eat healthy is to cook from scratch. It's also cheaper too. More people are going to have to start cooking in order to survive. Convenience will be a thing of the past very soon. 😞

Bobby Kennedy needs to remain focused on the food companies and the USDA/FDA policies... not telling people what to buy. If companies were required to clean up their product ingredients including banning GMOs and ANY artificial ingredients, a lot of what SNAP consumers buy under regular guidelines will be less problematic by default. You're not going to ban everything sweet, but you can ensure that any marketed sweet foods and drinks are made with natural ingredients.

In the spirit of education and health, he can require SNAPlicants to watch a series of informative documentaries online on the topics of what's going into the food supply and what people should look for on their labels. TONS of crap on the shelves is passing itself off as food and drink; so trying to determine for people which is and is not acceptable is going to open up a can of worms, especially when comparably few legitimate and affordable options are there to replace them. Increase incentives for choosing healthy options for consumers and farmers; subsidize organic farmers so that the price of organically grown produce goes down substantially. Implement no-pesticides policies--- at least restrict use to only natural, safe formulations. Using measures like these mentioned is how true change occurs. Peace!!

I will be 76 next month. I am have a lot of health problems. I am on social security and disability. My question is how do I try to get snap. I live on less than a thousand dollars a month. It is really hard for me every month. I have never heard about snap. So I need to see how to get help. I also I have a really hard time with trying to walk. Apply for TSAP Snap food benefits. TSAP is food snap made specifically for 60+ individuals how are fully retired. The application is very short/simplified and you’ll be guaranteed 3 full years of benefits.
*In most states you can apply online & any information that’s further needed can usually be emailed to the case worker & they’ll do your interview over the phone… a lot of states don’t even require you to leave your house which is helpful. Just google the name of your state & “snap application”… I live in New York so for example I would google “New York Snap application”, you should easily be able to find your state government website & apply. Good luck!!! 🍀🙂*

Let’s start by talking about how much money is spent on the administration of snap. In Nebraska you can’t even speak in person with a human. The leeches are the government employees.
Seniors and SSDI lost money with this COLA. More medicare, less EBT and no raise felt. This was the worst one.
The app for Michigan- we’ve had that already. For at least a good part of the last year. It shows you when to expect your next deposit and how much and you can also apply for a debit card for your cash benefits that you can also add funds to from other sources. I haven’t done that but I have used the app for EBT and it’s nice to see how much I’m spending where
Oh it also shows offers for discounts on things like prime , Walmart delivery, Instacart..etc. it also has job listings that are local and it has education sources.
When I used to get food stamps, I'd write down my balance in a composition notebook to keep track of it
Seniors are not going to go for food stamp purchases with their phones Most seniors only know how to use their phones just for calling and answering their phones , If they want to loose their government seats they need to know that if they intend to stop seniors from buying sugary food and drinks with food stamp , that’s going to be a huge problems . Most seniors rely on foods and drinks w sugar , because it’s the only pleasure that they have in their lives . Sweet treats are small pleasure in their lives . I know this because I’ve worked with senior citizens all of my life . None of the foods produced today are as they were especially when it comes to taste and quality as they were years ago . Know one can talk to me about the difference between the food today and years ago especially if they haven’t lived in the south. Leave the food stamp program and the sugar alone . Sugar does not cause diabetes . It’s a big lie . Somebody better talk to the government about this or there will be a lot of angry Americans and they will quietly vote them out just for these ridiculous brain storming acts. People act on what physically affects them even if they don’t know a thing about the government. Know your constituents. Get a clue people.🇺🇸🤔

I’m in Virginia been on Snap many years was just told my recertification period is actually two months it was due Nov 5 I applied twice was denied twice in Nov and Dec. They just said my recertification is good still so my new applications are steady being denied. I’m sharing so if you never heard bc I haven’t you can help the people. I’m so surprised and also blown.
Keep in mind that these changes are from the CURRENT DHHS administration. After January 20th with the administration changes, there will be different changes as well.
Fast food should be eliminated from SNAP benefits. Most hard working two income families can’t afford to do fast food for their kids, SNAP benefit recipients shouldn’t be able to eat fast food when they want it. I like the assistance to be given to the food banks.

So the very small raise I got on my disability cost me 20 dollars of my food stamps, plus the 1 dollar cost of living on the EBT was a double slap in the face!

I use to work in a grocery store. I would have customers come in and buy nothing but cases of soda, bologna, chips cookies etc. not one vegetable, not one item to make a proper meal. Kids got free breakfast and lunch at school… then by the end of the month they would come in with vouchers from the local food pantry because they spent all of their snap on junk. I had one lady come in and buy 6-10 can’t remember which it was a full shopping cart. Of full unsliced country hams.. and she was Bragg that’s what she was giving to her family members for Christmas… needless to say she had no SNAP left for herself the rest of the month. But you say no regulations should be put on them? I had another customer who had 2 or 3 sons received full SNAP for her household size. But she always had name brand clothes, shoes, bags, and always drove a new Lexus or another fancy vehicle. In 14=years of working at the store she had one of her sons one time. She lived with at least one of her son’s dads … they put everything in his name and reported he wasn’t living in the home but paid for it instead of child support. He had one of the better paying jobs in the local area at the time.
@@veronica978Maybe they bought their fruit and vegetables from other stores. Fruit markets tend to have better options than grocery stores in some areas. Either way that's their business.

I just don't understand the process. I'm a single mom working 2 jobs and taking care of my disabled sister, yet I dont qualify for snap0 benefits. Yet my neighbor, who is a single male who works from home, which is a house that was given to him so he doesn't pay rent or anything. He gets snap and can afford to door dash, and Uber all his food. I'm not even exaggerating. He literally gets fast food delivered every day and gets snap. It doesn't seem right. I should just just unplug my fridge to save on electricity because there's no sense in keeping condiments cold.

In California..you can't use snap to buy premade meals. The electricity it cost to cook a roast is double what the roast cost. Fyi how do you cook if your homeless??
If you are homeless they will allow meals from restaurants, the card has to be activated to allow such purchases

I am curious if anyone knew that the very people that control you're eligibility to even get any form of support the vast majority are on foodstamps and other government aid. Can you believe that ? So the one whom may put you're paperwork off or not approved you might be eating well while you work and barely make due .

I think the work for benefits program is slave labor. If they placed you , it would be different, but you have to go find a place with enough extra work to let you volunteer for 30 hours a week to receive 189.00 per month or food benefits. Whereas if these people would HIRE you or the snap office would help you GET work (they could work with the unemployment department to procure jobs), you could get off benefits completely.
I worked at a large place that hired people from welfare. She refused to do much of anything and got fired. Guess she went back on welfare. That was many, many years ago.
How about them allowing snap recipients to get hello fresh & those types of services too to encourage healthy eating habits?

Since they want to eliminate soda and snacks then they will have to raise the stamps. Because real fruit juice is expensive. We're going to need more stamps for vegetables and fruits that can get pricey because we will eat more to fill full. The reason low income mothers are feeding children junk food is because we can't afford eating healthy. But in all I'm satisfied with the changes in the program as far as eating healthy.
I am sorry, I don't fully agree. I cook very healthy food and just because it's healthy doesn't mean it has to cost more money. You can cook healthy for a reasonable cost. You just have to be smart about shopping, plan your meals and actually cook and freeze meals. It can be done, It takes a little work. I know cause I do it.

They have a feature where you can freeze your card so you won’t get scammed it’s a headache at times cause soon as you use your card you have to lock it but it’s worth it

All I know is I work at grocery and I watch people come in and get like 100.00 of cola and no actual food and it makes me so mad. I also see no need for people to be allowed energy drinks on snap. I see people who use there’s for those too and no food. Sad. Then they are same people who are getting help from our church pantry later. Sad.

Veterans, Elderly and Completely disabled should be priority. And temporary/ limited benefits when people do fall on hard times. Most all people on SSI and Welfare have never paid into the system. People should be self-sufficient. Too many live off the system. 🎯

And that's where you're wrong. People that work low income jobs still have to "pay into the system" and some have to rely on assistance to supplement that income, because they still have to pay regular rent rates and everything else. And as someone else stated, as soon as you get a raise, if their rent is income based, that goes up, along with the ever increasing cost of food...well everything really. I really wish people would stop thinking that people that may need assistance are getting rich or more than someone else, because the system is designed to never let you get ahead, and this is from someone that is a former DSS employee.
You don't qualify for SSI benefits if you have never paid in! Or maybe that rule is for BLACKS only!!??

55% or 65% respectively, if the garnishment order or other evidence submitted indicates the original support ordered is 12 or more weeks in arrears.
ALSO Current child support takes priority over child support arrearages.

I think when us people on disability shouldn't get decrease on foodstamps when we get a damn raise on our checks like the actual frick. And our rent shouldn't go up either. We all on disability need join together and fight this ridiculousness. Literally and especially when we are on disability we get medicaid and now they wanting us to pay for medicine and doctors visits. I dont think we should pay for that at all. Were on disability they should pay for all doctor visits and medicine, and much more even pay for our gas, and other things we need. We should get a card that has a certain amount on it and be able to use that money on certain things we need in our home, food, clothes and other things. Struggle is real on disability check

My parents lived and survived on disability checks with zero help. Always paid their own bills, had extra for what they needed and wanted… raised 2 of their grand children with no help or child support. Did without extras when money was short and had extra when they were in a good spot. Not once did they get child support, or government assistance for either grand child. Didn’t even try. The only thing the did get help with was health insurance for the youngest because her birth mother just wouldn’t stay away and kept getting her kicked off my dad’s health insurance he was paying out of pocket for. My dad said there were times he lived off of pb and j so his wife,kids and grand kids didn’t do without. Before he retired he worked 2 jobs. Then tried to work as long as he could after he retired. It’s called choices.

A senior here we don’t get any raise in our EBT cards as a matter of fact on Social Security every time we get a little raise from Social Security they drop our EBT mounts and I sure don’t get that much and EBT neither thanks for the info

I don’t buy any junk when I was getting fs. I’m diabetic and thd healthy foods are expensive. I was getting $49 a month and now with the ss small raise I won’t get fs. I’m fine though. It takes me completely away from state funded programs. Which is what fs were intended to do, help you. Not let you live off of it.

I agree, some of the snacks that the parents buy for their children are not helped at but I've worked in the school system for over 20000 years and a lot of The Times when the children are required to bring snacks for parties at school or other things like that.Some of my parents that was the only way they could participate and participate with Dignity so I agree with that for them to change it but just be mine for the sum of our parents are really on the low level of poverty and this is the best way for them to make sure that they're cute and participate in school like activities

Supplying snacks for school is expensive and exhausting trying to think of different things. I suggested since the same parent, randomly adds food to the can't have list, she can buy the child's snacks.

They want us to eat healthy but a pack of hotdog's, buns, and a bag of chips I can get under 20$ to feed my family of 4. But to make a simple grilled chicken salad the salad mix/head of lettuce and chicken alone would run me 20$ if not more...
Cap. A head or romaine lettuce is 3.00, chicken thighs are let's say 7.00 a lb, you can mix your own dressing too.
@@Meh...171 Maybe in your area those prices might be true but where I am Chicken thighs alone are around 12-14$, a lettuce head is around the same at 4$ but to feed 4 people I'd need at least 2 heads of it so that's 8$, and any kind of dressing weather mixing my own or buying in a bottle would cost me another 8-ish$. Plus who eats just lettuce and chicken that might be less calories but it certainly wouldn't be healthy; I'd at least add shredded carrots, a boiled egg, sliced cucumbers, and some diced strawberries. Which again would all add up to around 30$.
