so much training goes into the k-9 police dogs, it's really amazing actually. i wonder what sort of training the trainers go through to teach police dogs how to catch thieves while also being gentle with family and friends.
I was talking to Officer Garcia and he said that there is some training involved but the dog instinctually can determine who is bad or good when he sees his handler interacting certain ways with others
I've seen on some they even douse vodka and other alcohols on the padded suits so the dogs can be more cautious when it's obvious someone is drunk it's crazy
As a K9 officer - kudos for doing that. Have spent more time in a bite suit than I care to think about. It can be fun, but can be also be pretty intense! Awesome video. I train German shepherds in protection work for the sport of Schutzhand, so I know what the power of German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois bite feels like. The training the dogs you were working with is pretty much the same as I do in Schutzhand training.

The only thing stopping me from pursuing it is that hubby has forbidden it (for very valid reasons, I'm just a little whacky) & bite work is pretty serious stuff. I don't imagine any responsible trainer would be willing to allow some crazy dog lady to "play" with their very strong dog. 🤣
You did great! You stayed willing bite after bite. Although, my dog would bite you just because of your unfortunate mustache. He does bite sport, not a police k9.

That just looked like me putting my elderly neighbour's dog back in her yard today, just bare arm style though. The dog plays too rough for my liking, I'm glad I've purposely got to know the dog.
My Belgian Malonois is crazy like these dogs found him at a shelter when we got him you could feel the insane forces with out training and it’s insane and that was 8 months ago
I have a scar on my left forearm from devil when I did bite training with a company in LA. While they were attempting to remove him from my arm I made the mistake of looking him in the eyes which lead to me having said scar.

I have the top two best dog breeds in the world the German Shepard. And the Belgium Malians they are both the toughest dog breeds the world. They are both GREAT protection dogs. Hiely reckemend theses dogs if you have High crime were you live. Also both great service dogs. I also wanna train them the Belgium Malians is very hard to train.
the k-9 training officers have always intrigued me and i'd like to learn more about the process. although, i was hoping to learn more about their training process in this video it was interesting nonetheless.
Just my thoughts, I would think training with fresh meat would be ideal; because the texture is different. Couldn’t they zip tie a steak around the suit arm?
