@@sandog what's the biggest you got this year,it was a great year I got a 38,36,33,31 from a dock off live squid in June...I got enough hali I had to tattoo a 22in ruler on my leg
I was working in South Bay yesterday, so I stopped at Pepper Park, no yak and I forgot all swim baits. Caught 2 spotties though, the 2nd one took me into the rocks for 30 min. I may go back today with the hobie and swimbaits. We'll see if self control is sexy today? Thanks Glenn
I like em both fine actually. I was testing it out because it's what I'm gonna use on the inflatable. I changed the pump and was testing it. Test failed lol... I made the hose too long🤣🤣
@sandog I've been kayak fishing almost 15 years in the ocean out here in Pacific NW and have been running HeroesOnTheWater NW-WA for 12 yrs I have seen all kinds of weather. I've caught a 36 lb Pacific Halibut off my kayak. But I love watching your videos and wanted to catch CA Hali out of a kayak and some other species to check off my bucket list. Would you recommend Pt Loma over Mission? I'll by your recommendation. I want to try and catch bigger fish.
Great video again! Thanks for posting. Did you swing by the bait barge for live bait first I presume? Also, do you ever use jerkbait or other artificials when searching for hali?
Ya i swing by the barge before hand. And ya, when im by myself, I'll use swim baits.. jerk baits... curly tail grubs. For Hali use white and chartreuse 🤘🤘
You are the Hali Master sir
I appreciate you watching, bro. Thanks🤘🤘
I wouldn't go that far but he definitely knows how to fish San Diego bays
@halibutman3208 no one catches more halibut than me... kinda makes me the master 🤷♂️

wow.. different fishies this go around.. and that's it for clothes this time of year? a light jack and pants, but still barefoot. Love San Diego.
How are you doing bro. You healed up to go fishing soon🤷♂️
@@sandog yeah.. I’m pretty healed up actually. Wasn’t sure if winter is a good time.. but there you are nailing halibut!
@benca101 it's defiantly a little slower. But there arevstill fish around🤘🤘

Go get you some brotha!!
Ohh its easy money, and fun. Great video as always.
Noticed your back with your DIY bait tank, in your opinion which is better DIY or Hobies?

Nice catch 🐟
Thanks for watching 🤘🤘
If you catch a fish and plan to keep it, where do you store it until you get back to the boat launch? Do you use a kill bag with ice?
Sometimes I bring a kill bag... sometimes I bring a game clip and just let em hang on the side of the yak till we get in
Which location will be better toward the last half of March? Mission or Pt. Loma? I'm planning to book March 22
Pt. Loma is usually a little better fishing... it's also the rougher of the 2 trips cause it can get windy

@booniedog671 pt. Loma for sure. If you're an experienced kayaker pt. Loma won't be a problem at all. Fishing should be turning on then as well🤘🤘
@@sandog sweet. Thanks
@sandog will we be launching from Shelter Island Boat Launch? If so, the wife and I will book at Humphreys so it'll just be a short walk to meet you
Hi, do they still have kayak scoops and how much money? I see on their website the minimum is 1/2 scoop for $40. Thanks
Ya, kayak scoops are 25 bucks
