Rob. I do my flying geese using Deb Tucker's Wing Clipper ruler. Look at her tutorial on using her ruler for accurate flying geese. She oversizes, by a few threads, her measurements to have accurate and true to size units for the projects. There is a ratio between the length and height of the unit. Deb Tucker rulers achieve that every time.
Hello Rob, I wanted to thank you again for the Synergy Quilt information, my kit arrived today ❣️❣️❣️ I hope to begin it soon. Thank You So Much, 🥰👍👏 Chris
Love the video! I have made geese using magic method and rectangle and square block. I agree that I like the rectangle block better, but to make a large quantity it is quicker to use the magic method. Wish I had your energy. Guess I need more caffeine.🤣
I’m a new quilter and would love to see you teach an uneven night patch and a churn dash . Thank you for your straight forward understanding teaching . Happy Easter !
Love your video. I used to be afraid of geese, or intricate designs using 1/2 square triangles because I could never get a consistent clean nesting of my seams. That was because I used to cut my squares exactly to the size indicated in a pattern. What I found was that by the time the seam was pressed, there was a loss of up to 1/8”on the side that was pressed over. That made trimming or squaring up a bit tricky. However, by cutting and extra 1/8” for the squares, there was some wiggle room to trim exact and perfect hst units. So thank you for showing version 2 of this tutorial. That is the method I now have best results with (as long as I give the small corner squares that extra 1/8” when cutting.)
Thank you -- For the 4 at a time Creative Grids has a trim tool that has the math/starting square sizes for each size of Flying Geese unit (finished) size
? Hi Rob, would you do a comprehensive video on squaring up blocks that do not have a distinct or easy to identify centre? I find that I sometimes misjudge, and end up shaving a bit too much on one side or another, making it hard to nest adjoining blocks without cutting off points or design elements. Large pieces are relatively easy, but small ones become very noticeable or wonky much quicker.
Thank you Rob! I’m adding this to a panel as a gift for a friend. As a new quilter your videos are easy for me to follow. 😃. I so appreciate that.
Hi Rob, I definitely will try this one. I wish I lived close to stitching heaven . Cheers from down under ❤Australia
Great tutorial Rob ty

Rob, can you please demo 60° diamonds? Thank you!
I would love to know how you built your design wall. Also love your iron if you could leave a link.
I use paper for a test size.
More like a fox head Rob. 😊
Would like to see stars with the really skinny points. Not sure what they are called
Oh we may have just filmed that for you. Tiffany Hayes helped film a Tall Triangle using her Goddess Tool, video due in early May
How about giving u an accurate chart for flying geese 4 at a time
Great idea, this is what I have been told is the best www.creativegridsusa.com/products/CGRDH4
Also, Abby show how to use the tool here - th-cam.com/video/KDet6rOcbWk/w-d-xo.html
