I bet it goes through bearings like crazy? I have a buddy that did this at a smaller level CC, but even then, there where allot of problems to iron out. I can only imagine the work and money involved to get that beast to where it is in this video. Great build guys thanks for sharing :)

so how fast is this gokart the vmax runs like in the high 10 sec range im guessing ? the kart walked away pretty easy if it had some grip it woul;d go 9 sec im thinking, it would need a taller tire to get proper gripage on the track maybe some vht would do it if it wouldnt break parts like chain and what everr weak link is there

A KTM is a fast car but that kart leaves it for dead, even the start that the KTM driver jumped. I loved the description of the KTM by England's CAR magazine. They said it looked like a go-kart that Ron Dennis would build for his kids.

All these geniuses poo pooing the idea saying "power to weight ratio" "power to weight ratio" as if we were a bunch of two years olds. Just admit it guys, this cart is over the top, kind of like a 8000 h.p. dragster. We can all understand what it takes to accomplish the task at hand. The idea here is just to appreciate the machine, and the work, and knowledge it took to build it. It is an awesome cart, and I would love to have one, just so I could drive down the street and piss off all the people standing around saying, it's just the "power to weight ratio".
Love the kart, thats seriously quick, however who chose the VMax? 300+kg bike? Why not put the CBR1000RR bike against it seeing as thats the engine in the kart. As a biker this is of more interest comparison wise.
@pazzoallaguida the drag coefficient of a GP bike is far far less than an F1 and cintrifical force combats what the car has as far as aerodynamics for cornering. Not to mention that on a bike you have more control over the weight shifts than on four wheels (albeit slightly slower at changing direction). They are an even match up. I don't know where you get the idea that F1s are that much faster. The 250cc two stroke track bikes are about 30 seconds slower but not GP bikes ;)
Gen. 1 VMAX 85-07 is around 145 H.P. at the crank & 115 to the rear wheel. Gen. 2 09 is around 200 H.P. at the crank & 170 or so at the rear wheel . That would be both at a bone stock form.
yea.. a kart with a mc motor (yamaha YF, hayabusa, and so on) will crush any competition in accelleration ( cuz of weigh/ power ratio) i love this vid but yes.. if he´s competing against a bike it should be hayabusa, yes v-max is really fast in accel. but not the fastest bike; same with the car. Sad part is that Yamaha could never legally sell something like this, except as a race car...you could never drive it anywhere but a track; but I'd pay for the chance to drive it...
@pazzoallaguida There are 2 things that F1 has over GP bikes. First that they have aerodynamics that literally slam the car on the ground. At 150 mph in a still wind you can flip the car up side down and because it has so much downforce it will stay glued to the celling. Second they have the advantage of four fat flat slicks sitting squarely on the ground to apply the power. GP has everything else.
Its simple white cars reflect heat so you get colder air through the intake and if you believe that you are insane as the guy riding plastic 170mph. It had to seem like you were going 300 all things being relative to the perspective.Totaly sick and awesome !!!! *****
Seems to me if you're going to drag race first thing you've got to do is heat up the tire after dropping a few Lbs/Kg's out of it first. Also a stock V-max has 168 hp at the rear wheel, not 200. What are the specs on the cart???
