  • South African Xitsonga musician Dr Thomas Chauke was honoured by Tshwane University of Technology for pro­mot­ing mu­sic as a uni­ver­sal lan­guage that tran­scends racial, eth­nic, and cul­tural bar­ri­ers.
    In 2010 he was con­ferred an hon­orary doc­tor­ate of Phi­los­o­phy in Xit­songa at the Uni­ver­sity Of Venda.

      Congratulations when we were growing up here was known as the Michel Jackson of Vatsonga as all his live shows were sold out. His Ximatsatsa albums were sold out on the day of release at Kohinoor in Johannesburg. Khanimambo Chauke.
