Bike came out pretty sweet. Looks like trips to Manards just got a whole lot easier!
I would be afraid that someone at Manards would steal it. It is hard for it to leave my sight. One of those toys that probably will not leave the house much.
@@RustBeltAuto Yeah, I didn't think of that. So many scumbags out there! My dad had this old crusty road bike that he would ride to the grocery store when he didn't have to get much. One day it was stolen... This was probably 15 years ago and not in the worst neighborhood but still. People suck. Enjoy your creation!

Wow, that bike is clean like it was the 80's again. You should upgrade your stopping power to V-brakes. Keep on eye on that battery pack. There are many poor builds without a BMS or shady connections. Stay safe!
Shimano deer head brakes gotta stay. I will ride it to Sportsman's guide tomorrow, and buy a 40 cal. ammo can to store the battery. Thanks.
@@RustBeltAuto Never heard cantilevers called that, lol.
Ya. Shimano deer head is what they call the ones I have. They work a little different than most cantilevers, and leverage pretty well. If you notice the lever is at a 90* angle unlike most. They went out of fashion, because they stick out so far. I kinda like it.
@@RustBeltAuto Yeah I remember seeing those before. I have been a mountain biker since the early 80's. Do you remember Shimanos Biopace gears?

Great job with a lot of work and engineering of parts and a lot of know how. Came out great and the best part is, it's yours and its one of a kind! Its really a looker, keep your eyes on it, it does have a classic look and that's another rare thing these days 👍🍍

Why wouldnt you solder the wires ? Is it due to the battery and high amperage ?
As an ASE certified advanced level specialist, we are trained to never solder wires together. It creates resistance in connections, and can cause failures from heat. If you notice on all wired connections in vehicles today, they are all crimped connections with no solder. Some connections are spot welded copper to copper with no solder. The only solder used is making connections to circuit boards. I have repaired many wiring issues due to soldered connections. Most of which being on Harley Davidsons "customs". Some people never learn.
@RustBeltAuto man i never knew this i was always told soldering wires makes the connections stronger than crimps. This maybe why im having some trouble with my car. Thank you for your insight as always 🙏💯😊 appreciate it
