For anyone who has or is working on a bus, please take fire very seriously. We were about 75% percent complete with our conversion with plans to head out this summer. We left a rag from staining some wood unattended for a couple hours and while we where gone it ignited. Fire department said the bus burned out in about 5 minutes, and they mentioned this was common with busses and large contained vehicles. We had all the usual (fire extinguisher and fire protection) but at the time we didn't know about fire balls. Either way a bus will go up VERY fast. Please learn from our bad luck and be careful, take care and enjoy your freedom!

Built up fumes and heat can cause a fire, electrical wires can cause a fire, and as Matthew said, it's over in minutes. Please take proper precautions with electrical, tools, products & fumes. I highly recommend using an infrared thermometer to check your system while charging under shore power and/or solar then again while powering and charging. Then every six months after you retorque all your connections as screws and bolts will loosen as it cycles from cold to hot especially your MPPT

Best wishes figuring out the issue, and good luck with the rest of the build. Two points of encouragement: there are more and more jobs that can be done remotely all the time, so I trust you'll find something, and you'll be surprised at how low your expenses can be on the road!
