Im kinda on two sides of the same fence with Exdeath Im still vaguely thinking he is a backup payoff for aggro decks (i.e. your core game plan doesnt work but he is your lategame pressure). I wonder if he could actually go with a fuller manikins package... Its actually just nice finally having lightning cards to unironically talk about haha
Exdeath is great. Tried him a lot with Manikins, but actively didn't want to play him for 1CP a lot of the time if he wasn't fully 'live' yet. An Earth/Lightning list that's happy to play the Delusory engine probably exists, though, and when Exdeath is an option, why not, right?
Great Deck! Excited to play this... Should be a blast! A suggestion: Ixion as a summon seems a great choice..(no 2 drops, excpt Tredd, and can claim easy wins towards some weenie decks without playing Shadow Lord) I think I would play 2 of those myself.
Great to hear it! It's incredibly entertaining, and surprisingly fast to hit Exdeath numbers. Good call on Ixion, I'm sure it'll end up somewhere in my 50.

Shantotto was on my shortlist when I was making this list. :) Could feasibly replace Rydia, or you might not miss the third Tredd. Definitely see it happening to aid the transitional gameplan into control.

Macherie was a huge mistake. I'm still not a huge fan of what Syldra does to deck construction, but apart from that, I think we're in the best time for FFTCG health since Opus 4.
@@YunaYoungTeam opus 4 is when I joined the game yeah syilda is too good I think Bismarck and barrat need to be addressed and I hate the deal your opponent a point of damage on any card at all and I have my problems with Neo and bfa too
Thought about doing a budget section for a really long time, but the roadblock is always "What counts as budget?". Personally I think nothing of dropping a twenty on a playset of legends, and I have to give myself a reality check that it isn't so simple for everyone. With an established rule like "no more than one Legend, no more than X playsets of heroes" I could do more.

Its more a case of dropping £30 on a playset is fine, but when youre new and have to do that 5 times in a deck its rough🤣 like maybe take a 2 player starter and add £20-30 to make it better, taking into consideration that somewhere like madgers market that has cards easily accessible sells big boy cards for £9.50 each?
That's what James and Serah have done with the Tale of 2 Gamers series on our Facebook, they took the ff4 starter deck and each upgraded it with 15 card change per week. Final results are on here.
Hello I'm surprised that there is no Shantotto op1 in this deck, which is another way to help Exdeath to get RFTG cards. Any reason for not including her ? Too costy ?
Hey there, thanks for the comment! It's a possible inclusion, but Backup space is really, really limited in Glaives, and Shantotto is quite a dead draw with our proactive go-wide Plan A strategy. It's possible in the right meta, but there's so few cuttable Backups. Maybe Rydia, if you really want Totto?
Is it worth slotting in a 1 of a 7CP Ardyn? He’s another earth 15 card that’s very very good in certain matchups and just ok in others, similar to Exdeath. But most importantly can be cheated out to the field with Nyx when needed.
Since Opus 9, I've keep a note/notebook on my phone of the number of times I physically witness someone play a 7CP Ardyn onto the field, and whether or not that player won. In the three-and-a-bit years since I started the tally, I've witnessed 26 Ardyns be played, and 26 losses by whoever played Ardyn. :P Ardyn's probably my least favourite card in the game who isn't on the banlist, and isn't just some textless Standard Unit. He promises so much, and delivers so little. The absolute epitome of the Browbeat phenomenon: letting your opponent choose the lesser of two evils is not a reliable way to create card advantage. He also can't be played through Nyx, who caps at 5CP. ...Maybe that's a good thing.
Good question. Cutting into the Glaives *very* quickly makes them feel unplayable, but one Tredd is probably the one concession you could make. Arguably, Sophie provides alternative removal to the Summons, so you could start to turn the Summons into Sophie and Luminous Puma; they work very well together.

have you thought about putting together an opus 17 budget competitive deck for new players at all?
