Good for you! I love seeing people push themselves beyond what they know. Just a small note, you may want to transfer the name of your plants onto a plastic marker of some sort. Once those biodegradable trays get wet, those tape labels will fall off. You'll think you'll remember what is what, but once you have a whole flat of little green seedlings staring back at you, you may find it difficult to remember what plant is what. Again, great job for pushing to do and learn something new.
Everything that slows us down and forces patients, everything that set us back into the slow circles of nature,is a HELP 🙏 gardening is an instrument of grace 🥰 good luck on your growing journey🥬🫛🍆🍓🍅
Lauren, there were so many things I loved about this video. Hearing the banter between you and your hubby ❤ (that’s not a maggot , it’s a grub!), making sure there are not bugs in your gloves (my fear as well 😂) the way you work so hard to be a good mom and your love of animals. I love your channel and can’t wait to see how your garden turns out this year.
Maybe keep your gloves in a ziplock baggie. I also put plastic jar covers (with the elastic edge) over my garden boots (Wellies) to keep the spiders and snakes out - there are some nasties here in Australia.
Oh Lauren, I feel bad that I laughed about the chickens after all your hard work! They thought, wow, mom left us snacks in the dirt bath area, LOL! 🐔🤣🐔
I love your commitment to gardening. Last years garden looked amazing and you got so much. I lived in southern California in my 20's and gardening was awesome there but now in my 40's in Texas....its a different story. So dang hot everything burns up. 😢 Looking forward to seeing how things go for you. Lol.....fun hearing Ron. I'm like you and not sure which is which. 😅
Sweet Lauren, you are my favorite. You are so sweet and talented. You have so much energy and enthusiasm for everything you do. You’re such a wonderful human doing so much to do the very best in whatever you’re doing. I loved watching this gorgeous young lady getting her hands in the dirt. You are truly amazing. Good luck with your garden. Fingers crossed for a great harvest. ❤
Have you ever thought of making a little dust bath bin for your chicken run, that way they won't disturb your plants. By the way I was so jealous of last years garden, I planted a bunch of tomatoes, actually bought the plants from a nursery, they grew and grew and didn't get a single tomato on any of them until the day before the first frost in October. I live in Kentucky and planted them the day after Derby as this is usually the first frost free day. Hopefully I'll get some this year. Love your channel.😍
We are CA natives who are on the Midwest for a few years for work. I’m itching to get the garden started but must wait. So really enjoy vicariously planting yours!
So nice to see you out in the garden again😊something so magical and special about the garden how it helps to heal the soul ❤ sending you love and light always 🙏
Hi Lauren, I really like these kinds of videos, like garden videos any how, but must say your garden programme was the best I've seen, for starters you make gardening fun, and that's important. You teaming with your husband was interesting. Good to see the chickens and blanka, they are really naughty though Lauren, pulling up all your seeds. Liked seeing this kind of video and you going to the garden centre, looked a good one. When I lived with my parents, we had a big garden with lots of flower beds etc, used to drive to a garden centre called Riley's, it had lots of statues, ornaments, garden furniture, even sold books, Dvds, cds, still there it is, we have another garden centre called B&Q, that's good also, but I live by myself now in modern apt, no garden, miss it. Make more videos like this Lauren. Enjoyed it, you make great videos Lauren. Take care ☺🐦🏠🐔🐓✋. Bye.
OMG the chickens! We recently purchased 20 acres in the Midwest, and we were tilling an area for our in-ground garden. I have a video of the hens following behind my husband digging up the earth behind him. It was at that moment, I knew we had to keep them out or they would just dig up all of our seeds. So, they now have about an acre of fenced off area to themselves, although they are little escape artists and keep finding ways out. I totally empathize! You can't even be mad at them haha!
Hi lauren you are absolutely beautiful the love you have for your family and your animals is so sweet, I really enjoy watching your videos. Your so inspiring with everything you do, thanks for sharing your videos 💕
I'm surprised at how early your growing season starts!!! That blows away! Ours isn't until the end of May, unless you're going to plant bulb seeds or things that are hardy like peas. Those can be planted as early as April! Onions and garlic etc. can be planted early on too. Cabbage, kale, spinach can be fall planting, but you can plant spinach in the spring too! It just depends on if you have a small green house to protect them from any frost. Or you can even use hoop houses also! But idk what would be best for the southern states. You should to talk to the people who own the nursery ant what you can do to protect your plants! Happy planting!!😊
I'm so sorry your chickens messed up your garden!! BUT, am also so jealous you have those happy ladies!! Think of it as a learning opportunity for you and a special treat for them. Your life, home, and family are so beautiful!!
Oh those cheeky chickens, 😂 loved how you started planting your pots and beds. Fingers crossed 🤞 you get a good yield. I hope you had a good soak in your amazing bath after all your hard work, it kills my back after gardening. It's still too cold here to start planting out just yet. Take care sending love as always to you and your family. Rosie O from Devon, England 🏴 ❤😊x
You could also try miniture hoop house covers. Garden center should know what i mean. I live in ohio and have to keep criters outta my garden all the time . Hoop house or small green houses will keep them out and veggies warm. They grow great. Good luck. Ps Love your channel.❤
Love the garden! It's going to be awesome. One tip though, you should "score" your roots on the plants you re-pot. Either take a pocket knife and do a cross across the bottom of the root ball, or just use your hands and pull them apart. This encourages growth! Can't wait to see how things turn out.
I enjoy all your postings, but I think gardening is my favorite. This winter was so mild-I’m in Roseville-that all my herbs made it through the winter, including the nasturtiums.
The great thing about all the fresh herbs is you can dry some as well to use over winter. It's too early to plant here in Colorado. I need to wait another two months! Can't wait!
Spring is here!❤ It was so relaxing watching this video..all the planting soil prep Having the girls out helping 😅lol so adorable 😍. Love the sounds mixed in with the music.❤
The world its uprooted from their true essence core. I say all that to say seeing growth is a refreshing thing.. keep them coming. As I too am trying to grow.
Man, I can’t wait to plant my garden! But we’re having a snowfall warning this week, with over a foot of snow in the past few days🤪 my seedlings are spouting like crazy in the house, we have to wait until the end of may to plant outside. Canada 🇨🇦 life. Great video Lauren! Thank you
Really enjoyed this video. It was very relaxing watching you garden while listening to the birds and chickens in the background, and you chatting with your family. Very peaceful vibes! I wept for your nails tho! Cant help but laugh that all your kale was instantly gone. 😂
If you aren’t watching Garden Answer, you should consider it! Not only is she uplifting and delightful, she DOES have a tutorial on everything that you are trying to accomplish. You will be giving yourself such a treat to be able to watch her videos!
Here in Texas, I will start my garden in May I love your garden choices You are amazing Such a wonderful, caring mother , you do a fabulous job caring for your family
So nice to see the chicken and you starting your garden. Here in Canada there is still snow and we can only start our gardens in mid May. Thanks for sharing so nice to see it all 🐓🥕
So excited to see what you guys are doing with this garden. It’s my first time ever this year doing a small herb garden and some veggies. I love your videos.
Can't wait to start ours but have to wait.We have had beautiful weather in Wisc.but today we got 5 inches of snow😅We will take moisture since we did'nt get the snow we usually do.I did have to laugh at the end those chickens probably were saying wow look what mom planted for us.❤
Banana peppers are one of my faves to grow. Hot and sweet. Mix them and sauté in olive oil with gloves of garlic. A little salt and pepper. Just let them cook down get roasted on the edges… a good loaf of bread and a glass of wine. Heaven
Lauren put some nutrients in the holes before you pot them up. Fertilizer in dry form or liquid fish emulsion to feed them after potting. Especially since ur soil is so hard and compacted, it needs added nutrients to feed the plants.
In Australia we call cilantro, coriander (please add to the useless information file) but my point is i find it quite difficult to grow as it bolts to seed. I live in Adelaide a very similar climate to your part of California. All your other good things grow really well here. I would be starting the brassicas (cauliflower / broccoli) in the autumn as they are a winter crop. Happy growing🦘🇦🇺
Lauren you had me laughing when you were smashing your gloves for bugs. Yep that would make me a bit nervous. 😂Did you buy any vermiculite to sprinkle on top of your planters with the seeds. I see a lot of gardeners do that.
This is my first year with the Baker Creek seeds and I am so disappointed with the germination rates (am in 10B so I've been starting for a couple months now)...I don't think it's your fault!! But you're right, I get so much satisfaction from starting from seeds instead!!
Love your channel Lauren you’re the best !! Glad you’re doing better so sad about Chewy 😢I wanted to tell you about this channel 4 seasons home it’s absolutely darling I think you’d like her content. Have a Happy Easter 🐣
Hi ❤Lauren thank you for recommending scent bird and thank you for the discount code from previous video you are amazing and enjoy everything you share so sorry about chuey ❤ sending you love and blessings to you and family ❤❤
Don't think it would be wise for me to do anything yet, as they've forecast bad snow for us end of this month 😢. But fingers crossed for all you have got going on. I'm really enjoying watching so far, see you later. 🥰🇬🇧🐾🐾💖
This is just my personal opinion but the second bowl of seed starting mix looked a little wet, and then you added more water. I wish you luck and I hope I’m completely wrong. Doing something new is always exciting, fun and a little bit scary. I’ve been seed starting for a number of years and I’m still learning. I have to tell you I’m jealous of your garden space. I have a decent amount of space but I have to deal with a numerous amount of wild life. It’s always so satisfying when you can harvest what you have grown. I would like to share with you a TH-cam channel Garden Answer. Laura is amazing and I learn so much from her. I save your and GA videos to end my day because they are so relaxing. Happy gardening and here’s to a bountiful harvest.
You should put some type of barrier around your raised beds to keep out the critters. Once you have dill, you always have dill. The wind scatters it everywhere.

I think the trays you bought have the plastic labels, thought I saw them when you opened the 2nd tray. Dorene Weiss
I love so many things about you and your videos but your love and treatment of animals is one of the things I love the most. ❤

Hi lauren you are absolutely beautiful the love you have for your family and your animals is so sweet, I really enjoy watching your videos. Your so inspiring with everything you do, thanks for sharing your videos 💕
We are in Indiana! Wish we could start planting now but we are still having hard frosts. Your garden is off to a wonderful start.
❤ I love gardening too! So rewarding and very therapeutic. Have a fantastic day.
One thing about you, You will get the job done. Love watching u plant so enjoyable. Happy Gardening!
You might not want to pack down the dirt. They like it a little loose. 😊 Good luck. I love gardening too. Fun.
Great!!! Thats the one!!! So happy for u!!! 😊

Loving so many videos this week!!!
Yay! Thank you! I have more that I need to edit! I just love this time of year!
Great video as always! I want to try planting all of those peppers. Aww! The chickens. Mom just planted us a smorgasbord. 🤣
I just love that little store at your local nursery. Thank you for sharing. It was so sweet
Thank you!!!! They are the sweetest family!
Love the garden! It's going to be awesome. One tip though, you should "score" your roots on the plants you re-pot. Either take a pocket knife and do a cross across the bottom of the root ball, or just use your hands and pull them apart. This encourages growth! Can't wait to see how things turn out.

EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! 😂😂😂😂 slap those gloves around and then pray I don’t get bit and then the relief when I don’t! 😂😂😂😂
So excited to see what you guys are doing with this garden. It’s my first time ever this year doing a small herb garden and some veggies. I love your videos.
You are going to love it! I have really missed gardening!
Can't wait to start ours but have to wait.We have had beautiful weather in Wisc.but today we got 5 inches of snow😅We will take moisture since we did'nt get the snow we usually do.I did have to laugh at the end those chickens probably were saying wow look what mom planted for us.❤
Love ur garden area.
I came to realize a garden is another home in itself😊
Banana peppers are one of my faves to grow. Hot and sweet. Mix them and sauté in olive oil with gloves of garlic. A little salt and pepper. Just let them cook down get roasted on the edges… a good loaf of bread and a glass of wine. Heaven
Quick tip....the men in the room don't like it but I always say a Phillips screwdriver is a plus. Flathead is a minus. 🤷♀️
Brilliant!!! I will share that with Jack (our son)
I love garden centers like that
You will have an amazing garden ,
I hope so!
Put cicken wire over the beds in a domed fashion to keep them out. Use wire twisty ties to open amd close when you need to weed.
I ordered some, I am hopeful it works!
Lauren put some nutrients in the holes before you pot them up. Fertilizer in dry form or liquid fish emulsion to feed them after potting. Especially since ur soil is so hard and compacted, it needs added nutrients to feed the plants.
Lauren so funny how all your animals follow you around like a Disney princess 😂❤
Love this I just got all my gardening done too
You can start seeds in your 4" nursery cans too.
In Australia we call cilantro, coriander (please add to the useless information file) but my point is i find it quite difficult to grow as it bolts to seed. Look up the group Winter Sowers.
Ohhh no! Aw Lauren! The chickens 🤭🌱🌱🌱🌱
They are lucky I love them sooo much!
Love the video
Hi Lauren i Absolutely love your channel ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love your channel Lauren you’re the best !! Glad you’re doing better so sad about Chewy 😢I wanted to tell you about this channel 4 seasons home it’s absolutely darling I think you’d like her content. Have a Happy Easter 🐣
Your chickens are cute, I have 6 layers, they give us so many eggs.😮😮😮
You have to separate the onions and leeks before planting them. You have probably 10-20 in each clump 😂
Lol great!!! Cant wait to see how this turns out 😂
Hi ❤Lauren thank you for recommending scent bird and thank you for the discount code from previous video you are amazing and enjoy everything you share so sorry about chuey ❤ sending you love and blessings to you and family ❤❤
Can you tell me where you got your potting bench?
Don't think it would be wise for me to do anything yet, as they've forecast bad snow for us end of this month 😢. But fingers crossed for all you have got going on. I'm really enjoying watching so far, see you later. 🥰🇬🇧🐾🐾💖
Gets some biotone it makes your plants grow big
14 days??!!! 😊wow see how we learned!from u 😊
Lauren, how do you keep your cats from attacking the chickens? Your garden is going to be beautiful!❤
LOL those naughty chickens......the garden is looking great less the chicken mess 🐔🤭
Yes they are so funny about the garden.. they think its for them
If you need any gardening advice, Garden Answer on TH-cam is by far the best! She starts my morning everyday and she will give you the best advice!
😆the end had me laughing how can you be mad at that, right?
This is just my personal opinion but the second bowl of seed starting mix looked a little wet, and then you added more water. I wish you luck and I hope I’m completely wrong.
Doing something new is always exciting, fun and a little bit scary. I’ve been seed starting for a number of years and I’m still learning. I have to tell you I’m jealous of your garden space. Oh my gosh Lauren watched this video and immediately ordered a 6’ raised planter and went to my local nursery and spent way too much money 😅
You should put some type of barrier around your raised beds to keep out the critters. Once you have dill, you always have dill. The wind scatters it everywhere.
Well that is great news about the dill because I love it! I ordered some netting and will attempt to keep the chickens out!
I am so proud of you. That looked like a lot of hard work. But it's gonna Bloom really good and grow. I'm sorry. The chicken's got into ith😢❤
grubs don't mean good soil. also they feed on roots. they are hard to get rid of too.
Ok good to know!
Your husband hyping up your son when he got the screwdriver. 😂💕
I know!! lol 😂
❤
Garlic chives are delicious too but not as prolific growers as regular chives . Hope your chickens don’t enjoy your garden TOO much!! Lol
Please be careful with the little white rabbits on the sensory table. They look like candy and small children will try to eat them! Have a blessed day! Happy Easter 🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰!
Didn't your chickens do the same thing last year😢
Scandish living a utuber she started her garden too look her up 😊
