- From the A SENSITIVE FASCIST IS VERY RARE ep...
A.P.P.L.E., along with Nausea and the other usual suspects, were one of the regular "local/homegrown" NYC anarcho punk bands on the scene in the 80's. They always radiated a one-foot-out-of-the-gutter positivity and intelligence that, at the time, didn't really fly in the LES. I remember a lot of the folks on the scene would give them shit for ending their sets with this cover, but somehow, in adulthood in a post-sanitized NYC, i have matured to understand its prophetic propriety.
Back in those days, we fought in, on and FOR the L.E.S.. Today, I feel like a stranger in my own home city. Where has the real NYC gone? L.E.S. RIP. - เพลง
I still have this precious record from long ago. I think I got it straight from the band, or the record distributor that was connected to MRR in S.F.. Either way, thanks for this. Now I don't have to worry about scratching my record.
SO JEALOUS
RIP Jae
One of the best punk covers of all time
I really miss the LES and the Village. See that's why we did this Pete Seeger song cuz it represents that one day the things you love may be gone. I ended up moving to upstate NY cuz the city changed so much and got super gentrified. What a shame.
Ain't this the truth.
@@BenVelez10011 Friend me on FB if you haven't already. :)
