- Been seeing a bit more attention on this old thing recently and tbh, it was begging for a remaster if you ask me, eh (Luigi)?
Sometimes, instead of burning yourself out like crazy trying to come up with new stuff, remastering old stuff is sometimes therapeutic as it allows you to bring older parts of your portfolio up to scratch.

The Star Light Zone as an 80's remix never gets old.
So calm and peaceful, just like the zone itself. Love the redone jazz portion itself.
Star Light Zone has always been a miracle for me after beating the HORRENDOUS Labyrinth Zone and the music would always catch onto my heart. So when I heard the City Pop version that you created, you have no idea how much that pulled onto my heartstrings for it being one of my all-time favorite Sonic songs.
And now WE GOT A REMASTER??? My heartstrings can't take it anymore, THIS IS TOO MUCH TY-
The original starlight zone was a Japanese CityPop song called "kusuriyubi no kessen (薬指の決心)" by Dreams Come True. They helped with the music for Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. There's a version of that song that was sung live on youtube, but the original is better in my opinion.

Starlight Zone always sounded 80s to me anyways. So this feels right at home in this style.

Starlight Zone is a wonderful piece and the 2nd best S1 level lol, but your renditions of the theme are the best out there. Stellar job!!!!
This remaster, especially how it builds upon its ideas in the second half or so, is pure, unadulterated frisson.
I've listened to a lot of covers of this, and some are even also more chill than the original in-game... but something about the specific level of energy and general vibes of this piece really stands out amongst them imo. Especially once the synth-sax comes in.

I was just listening to the old one when this popped up! One of my absolute favourite tunes in anything, let alone Sonic. Came at just the right day too, I really needed some cheering up
