I don't really know about the origins of the term itself, but the concept itself is not something that's made up. EQ is an actual concept that's even there in textbooks

Well it's well established that IQ doesn't mean much in real life. It's one of the metric that helps you in solve problem in a very specific context. On top of that , this experiments shows that to an extent that you'll often be judged by everything, whole as a person in real life not by paper IQ.
The last one can be the case of reverse biasness . Ranking himself lowest so that nobody thinks he is arrogant. It can be a fear of not being perceived as arrogant. Which is also not intellect.
Develop memory strategies. There are a lot of great books on this topic, where you can enhance your memory through different methods. One starter book to introduce the concept is "Unlimited Memory," but there are many more in-depth books beyond that.
I have ADHD but still rank 130-140 IQ every time on various tests available. The part where I take a hit every time is short term memory, I just can't be put on the spot.

IQ is heavily biased towards people who are more Math-inclined. You can be not so good at Math and still be super intelligent. In fact, that is something that happens with people who pursue biology. I am not saying the PhD-girl is more intelligent than anyone here, but she has some disadvantages with IQ questions, considering she has been doing very specialized biology things for more than a decade. The pink-hair guy could actually be more intelligent naturally than all of them, other than the Harvard guy possibly.

Everything aside, i liked watching the video because it exposed many of my unconscious biases such as subconsciously expecting a male to be better than a female in a tech job even though logically it might not necessarily be true. I **guess** its roots lie how society works/used to work : Males do the work whereas females take care of the household. (Getting outdated but was relevant in past). It's somehow wrapped up in the Big 5 Personality test, but much of that research is contested by other researchers. The way people use "EQ" in everyday speech isn't a real thing from what I know.
IQ is a good predictor for success, that's how it is used. As an indication of how far you are capable of going in life. It is not a complete and absolute indicator but it is the best that we as humans have come up with so far. A person with a low to average iq can still become successful in life same as how it is possible for someone with a high iq can experience mostly failure.
