My Everyday flyer for sure. I'd definitely rework the interior though, component placement needs some alterations for a Gold Standard Rating IMO. Id like to see the toilet pushed out to give it a shower too (you're right it doesn't have one, for a ship called the NOMAD you'd think it'd be thinking more long term habitation) Move the hallway component storage into the main cabin with the rest. (floor?) Shelf/Storage in hallway needs to be replaced with a suit locker. Works well with the airlocked hallway. Storage shelves and drawers above and below the bed and kitchen. Add pistol racks to the Rifle Racks next to the exit ladder. Replacing the window that looks to the rear with an additional exit door would be amazing. LOCKABLE INTERIOR DOORS (would be nice to be able to pin them open too)
I agree with a lot of this but I would switch the rear component housing and the toilet, as this space including part of the corridor can have a full toilet/shower room. It was done the current way for symmetrical design over functionality. The components can then go where the toilet currently is and there is plenty of room there for the power supply and QT drive as well as any additionally component set up they wish for the future, I also agree with a proper weapon rack set up too, but that can always be fitted into the hab area if space is getting low.
@@grymrammsolkbyrt6203 that's also an option I thought of. I had assumed the size of components will change over time. Agreed they seemed to prioritize aesthetic over function. Which after thinking about Silas Koerner, C.O.'s founder, makes total sense. Eccentric asshat lol
I love the Nomad, I have it as my main on my alt, but it does have issues. Capacitors are too small for the guns , even if u keep them at S2. Upgrade to S3 exacerbates the issue. You can't carry anything with you in ur hands up the ladder. Need to use a handheld tractor beam for that. It guzzles hydrogen like a guy lost in the desert drinks water. One positive I don't see a lot of people mention is that u can access the ships inventory from the cargo bay. There are also 2 weapon racks at the entrance to the ladder.
This is my favourite ship and my pledge ships along with currently the Hull A. I did originally have the cutty black and more recently the C1 but found myself missing my little Nomad to reverted back. I do also believe this is the best starter if money wasn't your concern as it covers alot of gameplay loops and adds more vehicle versatility.
I fell out of love with the Nomad (pre tractor beam) I was a Titan but fell out with it (I felt too claustrophobic and limited in tasks) so I thought Nomad with all its funky things and taking on a ROC I could Mine. Well i can it is fine for that...just....the process of doing it. Load up ROC which might take a bit due the tight "truck bed"---> run around to the door....wait for the ladders, slowly climb up ladder. settle inside, then run through the T junction through a door through the Bed/Kitchen (I do love love love love this it is cozy....but I want windows.....) and then run through another door. Slip into the Cockpit seat and finally sorted. The cockpit is amazing and great I will say that. My point being is the entire getting in and out of the ship feels such a chore and I stare longingly at the tiny tiny rear window wishing...I could just open it and run out my back "Truck bed" I upgraded too a Freelancer and while it is not up to Gold Standard (it does feel old) getting in and out of the ship is so easy and quick, now I have tried such ships like the Mercury Star Runner and people love it, I do not too many doors and hallways to get to the cockpit (otherwise great ship) so with that said I have been enjoying the Freelancer since Cargo is enough to make it worth while, combat I feel good enough (not maneuverable enough) to fight and layout its nice.
Great video! One of my favourite ships. One thing I never see people show about the nomad is the component access that’s on the ceiling in the Hab room, you did though!
Something seldom mentioned about the Nomad, its both surprisingly tanky, having no "weak spots" that would cripple you in combat like the Mustang's engine pods, and the gun placement is super tight, allowing for pinpoint strikes that rack up damage faster than many ships with much bigger weapons just can't achieve. Excellent MRT hunter, that also happens to be carrying your house in the back!
Whats missing to make this ship PERFECT would be an access hatch directly to the cargo bay, and for strangers to not be allowed to use their tractor beams in YOUR hangar x)
I do agree with everything you said, I just wanted to add a bit of downside of this ship - the gravlev landing gear while looking absolutely cool still has no grip to the ground and gets blown away by wind on some nasty moons. Up to the point you cannot leave the ship. Hope this will be fixed later.
@@cyric5083 You must turn off the engines for the landing gear to grip, but it can come loose sometimes. It can happen to any ship tho, I've had my loaner A1 get blown off because I parked it on a hill and the front landing gear wasn't actually touching

I really like your way of reviewing. made this fun to watch. Also was deciding on upgrading to this from the titan. Love the titan was my first ship but the Nomad does so much more
My favorite ROC mining ship by far. It’s more maneuverable than others that can carry the ROC. So you can haul ass to cover more ground and turn on a dime when spotting hadanite.
i started with this ship. all nice but......low level bounty hunting: good shields good enough guns but.... initial head to head engagemenmt and your opponent has a projectile gun (buckaneer eclips titan for example) you will immediatly loose one of the forward thrusters and with it most of your manueverability every single time. the first one or 2 hits will already do the trick VERRY anoying. i since than upgraded --> freelancer--> freelancer max as starters
i'll never understand why this ship is so ineficient when it comes to space, the crosssection of this thing is massive for no aparent reason, it could be as small as a titan since it has basically the same interior space
You can bind up to 3 keys for "enter remote turret". One is enugh if you have only one, but if you have multiple remote turrets you can switch between with just a key press.
This ship needs a rebuild/buff.... The concept is cool, but maybe this ship need multiple variables. Maybe different cargo setup (opened or closed), different interiors. Cos right now the shipp looks like is like a cloack fighter with modern home-flat at the interior (no sense to me)... So much potential on this and abandoned 😢 I started to play the game cos I felt in love with this ship, but I abandoned it cos almost 0 changes on this ship.
@@EvenLease44 I don't know we have here low taxes. Maybe because i live in a "rich" country. I don't like the prices being different for people. It would be okay if they would lower the price equally like they higher it if the earnings are higher i a region.
so THAT'S how you get into the tractor beam. I couldn't find it and it was driving me crazy! If "you" pick up this ship, make sure to upgrade your coolers! It's the only ship to have ever overheated on me. Fantastic ship though.
@@EvenLease44 It really is. I used it last night on the luckiest find I've ever had in the game. A very large container of construction material just laying out on the surface with nothing anywhere near it. It required considerable wrangling but I got it on board the Nomad, and despite at least half of it hanging off of the ship it stayed back there. Sold that for 332K. Not bad for a package delivery that I was expecting 12k from, tops.😂
In terms of value I don't think any ship will ever beat the nomad. It's fucked up I'm not here for a review bro, I'm legit just stroking my confirmation bias.
As a member of the Star Citizen "Concierge", meaning that I've spent too much money. lol... I still believe that the Nomad is the BEST STARTER MULTI-SHIP for new citizens. I'm not a fan of the Avenger, it's not really a PROPER multi-ship. Lots of people are OBSESSED with it, but the Avenger is really more of a strong light fighter ship with some very basic cargo options. The Nomad is still the BEST STARTER MULTI-SHIP in the game. Good luck getting a ROC in an Avenger. 🫡

about to buy star citizen on the 17th because of a friend so this was a nice watch to help me decide on what package i want to get

Just so you know the IAE event on the 17th is a free fly event. So you can actually play for a week before deciding if you want to buy.

You can carry a Mirai Fury in the back as well
although now you need to remove the tractor beam before the Fury fits cleanly - otherwise collisions can happen

When this ship was first announced and released it was compared to the ASP Explorer quite a bit.
