3D Origami Apple Tutorial - Origami Fruit - Paper Kawaii

- Learn how to make a 3D origami apple! It can also be an orange, tomato, peach or any other round shaped fruit! Made from 1 sheet of paper.
This origami apple is based on the origami water bomb model. Instead of using a square sheet, we use a pentagon to start.
I like the shape of this origami apple, it's pretty apple-y.
You also blow this apple up, so it's fun! 💨 Using stiff or crisp paper is good. Or textured paper. You would struggle with thick paper and super thin paper is also not great.

thank you so much! i actually was looking for a video for my school project, but it turns out this particular way of folding is also something that i've forgotten a long time ago! i used to fold these little blow-up balls so often in kindergarten, but i unfortunately forgot how to do it after a few years of not practicing😅 this really brings back old memories though

If it didn't blow up, your paper might be too small or too big, or too thin etc. You can open it out with a chopstick too :)

This is wonderful, but it is kirigami rather than origami, and it would have been nice to have a tell at the beginning of the video.
Uni Potter hey not sure why you think that, cutting the pentagon at the start doesn’t make it kirigami- lots of origami models are made with pentagonal or other shapes. The leaf is not origami at all, you can make an origami one like I suggested in the description.

The only cutting required is at the start to get a pentagon. You can also go make an origami leaf from somewhere else, so no cutting needed.
not to hate or anything, but this is not origami... there is no cutting in origami... But g8 job, no h8, and whatever the rest of that thingy is...
So here is my usually reply, Look up 'pureland' origami, it's origami that strictly prohibits the use of cutting or glue. It was invented by John Smith in the 70s and has nothing to do with traditional origami, there are plenty of traditional Japanese models such as the dragon, which include cutting the paper whilst making it. There are many origami models that start with rectangular paper or for example pentagonal paper, you have to cut the paper to be that shape or size. Not using glue or scissors in origami is perfectly fine however it is up to the folder.

well you could have just said that its a blow up balloon, and this isnt even origami. anything that involves scissors, which was used MANY times is not origami. Not origami. Should have been titled DIY and the title is misleading ;(
The apple itself is origami, I already stated that the leaf is not and provided a link to a pure origami leaf in the description. The apple is made from a pentagon, which oddly requires that you cut the paper to form a pentagon.
