I thought we had some heavy rains what you describe is crazy. They do however bring some good work that can be done while its wet. Stay safe I enjoy the videos,
John Stegall yeah you guys normal get pounded with rain but the weather has been crazy this year. And yes definitely have more work from these storms. Have a great weekend.
Water, water everywhere. You have water, Frank has water, Tri-County "Dirt Boss" up near Albany, NY, has lots of water too. But anyway, that parking lot was much improved and I really like the bigger pipe in that ditch. For some reason it seems that lots of guys don't bury them deep enough, but I thought yours was right on the money. Happy Memorial Day Brandon!
Nice work brother. Great job on the pipe and grading the lot w the skid steer. I was an operator for over 15 years doing earthwork and pipe etc, and we didn't have go pros or TH-cam, so watching from inside the cab made me feel like I was at work again lol 😂. Good luck and stay busy!
It started flowing better once small tile was out. Looks nice! Did I hear right that Joplin had another tornado this week? If so...Hope everybody is safe. Enjoy your weekend, Elite!

I have a driveway lane I wish to get done and looking to get the right material. Would you say what you have done there could support a few concrete mix truck rolling over with no risk of pipe colaspe? For me, there is a need for concrete trucks to go past the pipe for future jobs going beyond. Small roof and yard drainage to go into a pipe like you have but 6 inch diameter is all I think I need for a 40 ft lenght. Steel roof and three downspout plus surface water and a 4% slope average terrain to go across.
@@eliteearthworksllc I have not gotten the chance to research so much on questions I have. I really appreciate your answer above. It is good for someone that hire contractors , , nowadays, to know more than less because, many contractors out there (newer ones with no experience), may claim to know it all, take off with your money, and then let you live with subpar consequences. There are also people that sell pipes, and that is all they worry about. The sale. I believe in a local excavator that will do the work for me but, I will be there to observe and there will no corners cut. I just saw this other video here, I find it a good demonstration, (you would say in a lab not where this usually gets done) and it fully support all you say above. Once again. Thank you for your expertize shared. th-cam.com/video/vG9XRV-NUi8/w-d-xo.html
What material did you backfill your pipe with, and do you have any issues with settling. We use 1-1/2 processed gravel with the town but even with compacting every 4-6 inch lifts we still get settling. You get a lot done with small machines. Nice job.
Jason Unknown it was 1” base rock (limestone) I’m sure it will settle some since I didn’t compact any of it. But with all the water running in that ditch I didn’t figure running a compactor over it would do any good. He just wanted his business open for Memorial Day weekend. I’ll probably go back at some point and add more. Thanks I’m kind of in the mini excavation business I guess lol
Dirt Boss Tri-County Masonry & Excavating That looks like what we call class A riprap. About fist size or so. Class B is closer to football. I’m in Raleigh.
Did you get a permit? You mentioned about the county's culvert down the road being small. Usally the county or MODOT will tell you what size based on existing culverts and ditching. I didn't see any digrite/utilities marking flags, typically around here the ditches are full off cable and telephone cables
Robert Thomas no permit was needed. He talked to the county before about making it a larger pipe and they were fine with it as long as it was metal. There’s one phone line in but it’s closer to the road. There’s a rock shelf in the this ditch that’s almost impossible to dig through so most utilities here are still in the air.
you did great work getting the new culvert in and dressing it up, but looking at 18:21 I am wondering where the water flows from there because it appears the next driveway over is blocking the ditch, or is there another culvert diverting water flow under the main road to the other side?

Yes that will easily support the weight of a concrete truck. As long as you can get 10”-12” of coverage over the pipe it will handle plenty of weight
