  • Let's talk about EU is the brand new monthly current affairs programme brought to you by the EUobserver.com. Shot in the European Parliament in Brussels, the panel debates place controversial topics on the table and see a selection of Members of the European Parliament discuss them. In this debate, you can watch Ilda Figueiredo (GUE/NGL), Nirj Deva (ECR), Antigoni Papadopoulou (S&D) and Nadja Hirsch (ALDE) voice their views on the Protection of a work free Sunday in the EU.

The EP talking about work free Sundays???? Yet again an absurd topic to discuss at this level.
Instead of work free they should be talking about how to create work

wow! It is sooo refreshing to see a Catholic supportive of freedom of choice/liberty of conscience on this issue of how you are going to implement a "work free Sunday". Protect individual rights similar to the proposed Workplace Religious Freedom Act which is supported by many faiths (including Seventh-Day Adventists) and Leaders like Hillary Clinton. (Search youtube for Hillary SDA Adventist ) to see her statement on the matter. Oregon passed it last year! Good example . much better than this!

The lady hosting the show needs to stop interrupting the guests. She needs to let them have their say . otherwise the concept is good.

Just because other occupations work and it works for them it doesn't mean everyone should have to work does it? Do we come down on Gays because they are different? Do we come down on the French because they are different and speak French? It's not a bad thing for stores being forced to close on Sundays. We all have laws to abide by.
