Just got back from vacation and battling laryngitis so I apologize for the raspy voice. Also, this $5 mic from TEMU wasn't the best sound quality. I ordered a new mic which should be coming in today or tomorrow so hopefully that fixes/resolves some of the quality issues. Honestly, I think the mic on my Samsung phone works best but it is hard to hear with all of the printers running in the background.
Anyway, in this video I will show you guys some of the things I 3D print and also give you my thoughts and suggestions around what type of items you can 3D print, what my strategy is, and where I get my 3D models.
I do not have any 3D modeling experience and I do not believe you need to know how to 3D model to become successful in a 3D printing business.

thanks, just got a better mic so it should be better now
Amazing growth from home to printer factory. I need to buy a printer one of these days.
thanks for watching!
This is so cool bro, keep up thr hard work, we wana see you succeed! 🦇
Thanks trying to help others as well
Great tour! Love that you are doing true multicolor prints. Whose design are the mini-animals that you showed printing on the A1s at the end?
a few are from matmire makes, zou3d
You have a big farm, congrats. I’ve been debating if to purchase a 3D printer. Afraid if it’s going to just be collecting dust and not used.
You can... use it 🤣
Listen, haters going to hate but you keep doing you. I appreciate getting to see all of your growth and evolution, and you finally answered a big question for me of what do you print (and you sort of explained why).
What would be good videos for the future is how did you get to where you are today (we can sort of figure out some of that from the various videos but having it all in one concise video would be great) as well as a "day in the life of" where you take us through the start of a typical day for you through to the end.
Keep up the great work.
Will do
i just got my first printer p1s with ams. i want to be where you are my dude! just selling prints at my family store right now would love knowledge how to sell and set up those accounts
Slow and steady. Follow me for more content
@@Dancyn3Dprints already am sir! I will be the first of your hundreds of thousands
How do U guys ship out your products. Just wondering as you guys have a lot of products.
check out my vlog 12 i just posted
Mic is much better!!! Like your videos.
Cool
I understand you are buying the rights to designs other people have created - but and a serious question as I've wanted to know - what about the license fee for the starwars and other movie (deadpool, thanos, etc) intellectual property. Don't those have separate license fees, not to the person that created the STL's but the actual license for the movie bases products?
I don't sell those I just printed them for fun
How do you get so good at business, I'm genuinely asking. I couldn't sell 1 dragon if I wanted to
This is the question isn't it
Nice
Thanks
I really like some of the articulated things you sell. I used to sell articulated snakes and I was surprised by the demand for those. Articulated things seem to sell really well! These days I'm mainly into woodwork (CNC/engrave) but I still sell some 3D printed things to drive traffic to my shop.
That's smart
Thank you, I appreciate your videos very much.
Glad you like them!
Your shop is great! But consider buying a IQair Air Quality Monitor, I'm allergic to PLA and only have four printers (3 bambu, 1 prusa) so I'm really aware how much VOC printing creates... somebody did a test a while back and it was worse than a powered saw. If I've breathed the PLA atmosphere in, my lungs can feel heavy for 2-3 days afterwards until the hairs in the lungs have fully expelled the tiny particles. I don't consider my allergy a bad thing, because if I had no reaction I would be gulping that stuff down and accumulating more and more particles. It would be awful if we all end up with something comparable to asbestosis 10-20 years down the line... 😭😭 Anyway, love your channel!
I have 3 hepa filters, I'll look into an air quality monitor
Good stuff man, Remember it is your channel and your business and you do you.
Thanks appreciate you watching!
Cool chanel. Keep up the good work
thanks!
Great video! Im not sure if you've mentioned this in another video, but where do you sell? Etsy, marketplace, fairs, your own website? And how do you get traffic?
Ets,y amazon, Walmart, eBay, shopify, tt shop
where do you sell your prints would be cool to see your shop
I’m going to be binge watching your videos.
I have a few questions which hopefully aren’t too intrusive.
Have you owned or run a business prior to your current print farm operation?
If so, what industry were they in / what was the business or businesses?
If you didn’t run a business before, what did you do for work and did you hold a senior position there?
What tools have you used to develop your mindset towards business? Books, videos, or was it formal study?
You have a very switched on, focused driven mindset with a clear big picture way of thinking. Reminds me of my COO.
I currently work as an Operations Manager with 45 staff under me in a large private security firm but I’m always tinkering and working on projects in my free time putting nearly equal hours as my work into my projects. You have quickly become one of my sources for inspiration. I want to begin a business and 3D printing fixes all the current issues I have with creating and developing.
These are questions I answer in my community.. I can't go into detail here
I went back to compare the audio of the vlog #10 with this one and I think it's much less raspy in vlog #10 (even taking your sickness in account). I think what people didn't like was the music being close to equal volume as your voice. Nonetheless, if you can figure out how to tune the LAV mic that you got right now, this would normally be a really good setup.
Good luck! Love the content by the way!
My laryngitis is going away. I turned the volume wayyy down when I speak and up a little when I'm not speaking hopefully that's a good in between for viewers
This is probably one of the best videos I have found. There is no shame in selling what the market demands. Currently, I only have 1 bambulab x1c. How does the A1 compare to p1p interns of printing efficiency? What's more profitable? Thanks for the advice on selling in all the market places. I need to separate design business from 3d printing and not limit myself to products I have made. I need to think of it like other businesses I have run in the past.
A1 is great for multicolor and if you just print with pla. Quality.. I'm noticing isn't as crisp as the p1ps. But the value of the a1s are good
Do you usually carry that much inventory on hand? Or do these items already have buyers?
Usually print to stock not print to order
Great! I am based in Japan, so my international shipping cost is maybe high so it may be a strategy to produce low volume high value products. Possibly automotive-related, thoughts?
If you have the margin and demand then go for it
Wish I had 1/10th of the amount of printers you are running.... Seriously jealous... Im trying to save up to get a multicolor printer which hopefully help with my sells... Right now I'm just running an Ender 3 V2....
Sell the ender get an a1 mini combo
Btw what room temps are you getting there while printing? Humidity ? Its winter here and my garage is at about 10C during the day. Also you don’t seem to do filament drying, perhaps as you use it quickly? Thanks. Laurie. NZ. 😊
Yea most rolls we open and use within 2 days. It's summer here so we have the air conditioning on at 72 degrees
Hey man. Thanks for the great insight. I just started out and not sure what items are good to print as a new shop. Any suggestions on what you started to sell in the beginning?
Cosplay props
So many multi colors and so much time to make those products and I think this can be done only when you have large quantity of printers
The more printers the less time it takes
What percentage are you paying the creators of the products you sell?
Percentage? The designers you can subscribe on patreon for $10 or find free models online
Love your lab bro! I have a small lab not nearly as big as yours but this video gave me some ideas 💡 Thanks!🙏🏾
Amazing
Great video, I'm an industrial Designer (ironically I just discovered that this is a feasible business despite the fact that I started using 3d printing for prototyping and small production runs in first design jobs almost 2 decades ago.) myself but I have been struggling to get 3d printing business up and running. I also have a tonne of experience in family business and running my own. I think the split focus has been my issue. I also do digital sculpting, illustration, and portraiture. It's hard to find time for everything with a family. Question though how profitable is it to do those multicolor prints, they take so long to do and waste a tonne of filament. How did you find your niche? How much of your business is online locally? Great video.
3d printing In general is super high margin
@@Dancyn3Dprints that's true.
I can sell the free models? I thought those were only for personal use. Must be select files
i wont tell if you don't.. most have a " buy me a coffee" link , so if you feel guilty..
Hello Dancyn, Love your channel! I just discovered you recently and have binged watched most of your videos as well as subscribed. I Just want to thank you for all the content and hard work put into your videos for those of us who enjoy watching this type of content. Congratulations on your success! As an online seller myself (Beauty products - Not In 3D Printing), I know it's alot of hard work, time and motivation put into it, so forget about the haters who have anything negative to say! You keep doing you! I wish you nothing but the best through all your future endeavors. I do have a question if you don't mind?..... Where can I find that black/red heart dragon file? My momma passed away and she loved fairy's and dragons and I'd love to be able to print one for the display I have of all of her collected fairy's and dragons as well as one for myself. If you don't want to share that info, I completely understand... or if you'd like to share it privately through a message, I'd be soo very grateful. Even if I have to pay for the file myself, it's fine. I just seen that and instantly thought of my beautiful momma. ❤ Again, thank you for all the great content and cheers to your success and future success! 😊 Victoria
It's from cinderwing3d
@Dancyn3Dprints Great! THANK YOU SOO VERY MUCH for the info, It's TRULY appreciated! I'm excited to find it and add it to her collection and display. Again, Keep up the Amazing work! 😊
The last part lf the video is super useful.
By the way do you cut your own hair too? Lol
My wife cut it and it wasn't too great so I buzzed it off lol
A few questions for future videos:
How's the gratkit filament treating you? Have you tried any other brands?
How do you handle printer maintenance on such a large scale?
Some great info in the video btw. Thanks for posting. It's really been helpful for someone who has just a small operation.
Gratkit has been hit or miss. My first few batches were amazing. My latest batch the silk is very brittle and some things I print just break. I'm going to do a video on what we do for maintenance
@@Dancyn3Dprints Much appreciated, looking forward to more videos.
Thanks for a very informative video. Laurie. NZ. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Duncan get some air purifiers in there just incase
I got 4
What's your website to your shop?
Working on it
Jeep Wrangler TJ 97-06 OEM Soft Top Door Surrounds Surround Pair (if you can manage to print these youll make a mint)
Is there an existing model for that?
@@Redlaw so I commented when I first started your video. I see you’re not much into modeling. But maybe you could find someone and make magic
Maybe lol
Good info. Keep at it.
Always!
Staring putting a link to your store in the description
I dont have a website as of yet I sell on all the major ecommerce platforms.
@@Dancyn3Dprints I'm assuming you mean like ETSY. Can you post a link to your ETSY store?
Yeah where haha
