KarlBonner1982 I think (and I speak more for myself than anyone else) that we sometimes underestimate how much harmonic ‘jazziness’ was present in music even by the late 1890s...

I've played it. I studied sections individually and pieced them together. If I remember right the muted part is considered a highlight, but don't waste your chops on it or the ending will be painful.
