Thank you so much for putting out this video. This made the sales tax that I need to pay more clear. I have a question. I own a vending machine business and I don’t charge taxes in the machine however when I purchase the snacks, candies, and sodas, I pay sales tax. I am just trying to figure out what do I put for those numbers since I don’t charge the location taxes. I hope this makes sense and look forward to your response

My question is… I have the Texas Resale certificate, If I buy some merchandise from Florida, Can I use my Resale certificate to don’t pay the state sales tax on Florida?

      Thanks for watching
Florida is a different jurisdiction than Texas. My expertise is TX. Not sure how Florida works. But I do know that if you sale outside of TX you do not pay TX sales tax. If I were you I would look for a Florida sales tax expert

How do you account for sales taxes paid on the goods you sell? For example, does the $10000 of shirts include taxes you paid on that product? If so does that mean you pay 8.25% when you buy the item and then 8.25% again when you remit the taxes, assuming you don’t have tax emeption at the time of purchase?

If you resell it and you pay tax, you can take it as a credit when you pay your sales tax. The best thing is to get your permit so that you do not pay sales tax up front.

@@profitmodebizandtax thank you! In the process of doing that but this helps a lot! I wasn’t sure if you could take it as a credit or not. I’m in houston tx so it helps that you’re in Texas!

I have an online store and I sell to other states outside of Texas as well. So would I only calculate sales made from customers in Texas? If so then I would need to go through each individual purchase and check to see if that customer was in Texas and then add up all of their totals. I use paypal as my form of payment, would there be an easier way to find only Texas orders?

For educational purposes only Check to see if they are collecting sales tax. You should be able to set the items that you sale to take sales tax.
