  • hello it is me the limit cut menace :3 (except I wasn't a menace in limit cut in this run...)
this still does christmas right during temporal, so it's not completely UPR stuff but it's easy enough to adjust~

I’m extremely late to this content, but I’ve got a question. That excog on pull, was it better value vs the garuntee spread critlo?

Hi there :> Sorry for the late response, I don't check this channel as often anymore!
I tend to do a pre-pull Excogitation because even after using Recitation for Excog, you can still fish for an Adloquium crit on the tank and then deploy it, or if you dont' get a crit, just deploy whatever you have before -4s or so of the countdown (as long as you start fishing after around -13s of the countdown - otherwise the 30s shield might fall off before Cascade). Some MTs don't prepull Rampart so they take a lot of damage from the first Fluid Swing and they can get dangerously low after Cascade, so the Excog is a longer-lasting kind of insurance so they have a little help to not die before their invuln. Plus, as long as Reprisal is used on Cascade (which it should) and everyone has food, the party should survive without shields of any kind, so shields from a crit deploy aren't necessary. With a Whispering Dawn + Fey Blessing after Cascade (plus one thing from your cohealer if needed like Assize/Earthly Star) the party will eventually be topped up.
So in my opinion, the Excog provides far better value in this regard since it still allows for a deploy (if it crits you essentially get double value, if it doesn't crit you still get a party shield for Cascade), while using Reci for a crit adlo deploy will lock you out of using the Excog.
