I remeber watching 1776 in Edison at the plays in the Park back in 1976. I was in like 5th or 6th grade. At the end where Handcock says about the storm.... There was this huge clap of thunder and a huge windgust blpwing the Dec of Ind off the set. Huge pour down, people ran I sttod and watched it was over in min. Have loved this play since!! Good to see they still do it, Happy 4Th of July!
This is sooo well done 💜. I would love to see "But, Mr.Adams" or "Piddle, Twiddle and resolve" with this cast. This is definitely my favourite version of "The Less of old Virginia" 😻
These three men are wonderful! I saw the show with the original cast and the original national tour and these actors give totally winning performances!
@disco2698 Heyyy! Yes we did meet. Thanks for the compliments. I think my song was the funniest and most fun to perform. Also, the audience loves it. 1776 is one of the greatest musicals ever! Hope to see you at more shows! Patrick
Very well choreographed. Great voices and pageantry as well. Richard Henry Lee needed a tad more obnoxoty and confidence. But a great voice and great presence. Nicely done, everyone!
Did anyone here play as Richard Lee in a musical? I'm playing as him this year in my musical and I wanna know if it's hard to learn so I can prepare myself
My friend does it better. She’s singing it in my school’s production. I’m playing as Martha Jefferson. God I’m nervous..but that’s why I’m here. I was watching He Plays the Violin. It’s gonna be awesome. :D
the "NEHVUHHHH" is the funniest thing i have heard for a while
John looks so done with Richard
I love how Richard had to think before saying

Wow! Really? Thank you.

What a DELIGHTFUL production! Wish I could have seen it!
This is fantastic! The charisma! The comic timing!! *chef's kiss*
And both of them are like "Shoo, shoo, shoo!" at the end.
Absolutely excellent work. Wonderful, strong voice, but controlled. Great job!
Bro, you played this role to perfection. SUCH A GOOD JOB. obviously was a great production. i would love to see the Molasses to Rum from this version
That is VERY kind of you to say, good sir! The Molasses to Rum from this production has also been uploaded. Very popular video.
i come back to this video about every year. it's such a good performance and i would totally pay to watch the whole thing
This made my whole week.
Such a important part of American history probably never would have been heard about if it wasn’t for this song
Thanks for uploading these, I'm glad I got to see them!

fododude. Thanks for posting. Great job on Lee. Best ever.
No way. Holgate was better in the film as Lee. This guy is stiffer.
Not as good as the movie version, but still fun. can't use the horse on stage.
amadeusamwater sadLEE
I dunno, the Scooby Doo door bit at the end is pretty good!
If you want to read the real story behind the movie, get a book called "Four Days in July" by Cornel Lengyel. It's a fascinating read.
@ObsessedJay
Thanks Jay. Yeah, I have to admit I watched the movie version TOO much .

I played it in the video here. It's one of the shortest parts. Most of the time I was backstage playing cards with Martha and Abigail.
fododude We Performed This Weekend, go check out my video :) I took some of your choreography
You played Richard H. here? That's amazing.
SUPERB job here! Well done!
I just watched your video. Great job. So much fun.
Nothing like good local theater 🎭🎭🎭😊
You are correct, sir.
NEVER correct me again!!! Or, whatever... 🙂🥸🥰🐱👍

Nailed it!
Happy Independence Day 2021! 🇺🇸
Thank you! You too.
I am nine my teacher is teaching us about 1776
I'll never forget the cast party after the show, someone broke one of our lawn chairs...
Uh oh. I didn't do it ... though I'm definitely fat enough.
Adams and Jefferson broke off parts of Shakespeare’s chair, as of the custom …
The guy playing Franklin looks and sounds a lot like Howard Da Silva.
it’s so weird, but it’s great
Break a Leg in Annie. Of course, Plays-in-the-Park is staging Annie too. I will tell everyone about your production.
Watch the movie version!
1776 (Historical Family film)
The “independent C” is for me
Adams: Shoo, shoo! Get out of here already!

A woman is playing Richard Henry Lee?
Who cares if they did it better? Also......she didn't
More! 😉🌈🌈
Fake Southern accents are some of the most painful sounds on earth. -_-
Dude. I’m from Virginia and I thought it was fine
Sorry....but Merwin Foard dud a much better job.
Not as good as DaSilva and Daniels in the film version of 1776. Holgate better as Lee too.
They were paid much more (we got $0 😆)
the movie was better
Nuh uh!
