Teams literally get dismantled by that all-game press.
I mean, really... a lot of other teams had superb backcourts then, and I watched most of them get destroyed in real time by that press.

1999-2005 was the glory days of the UAAP, esp. Between ADMU and DLSU i remember my high school batch mate who used to play for the DLSU varsity during the 2002-2004 season kakain kami sa may Wham Burgers sa Shangrila nun then may isang ADMU player who was there dining with his friends final 4 nung time na yun in couple of days maglalaban na Yung 2 school sabi sa akin nung friend ko dude wag tayo dito di ko gusto ambience we ended up yata sa cravings which na pa subo kami kasi sobrang mahal ng foods hahaha tapos di naman kami babysit hahaha 🤣🤣🤣 that's how the players of those 2 schools hated each other during that time kaya i totally agree with Joseph and Wesley na they can't imagine Yung mga players ngayon saying good luck to each other sa social media hahaha

As a long time UAAP fan (even in elementary days), the early DLSU days are so famous with that full court press... and the DEFENSE IN OLDER ERA IS WAY HARDER COMPARED TO MODERN ERA.
What Mico should have asked is who would win, selection of 2001 to 2002 Archers vs selection of 2001 to 2002 Eagles since they faced each other in the finals for 2 years. (2001-2002)

I hated yeo when he was playing but I won't forget this one game he had against my school, it was a close enough game in 2001 off the bench he scored 8 straight points and ended any rally we had hoped to begin, he scored another 5 points off a steal and a trey after then the press totally killed us and they won by almost 20 even if archen cayabyab waxed hot from the 3

it depends on the officiating. parang comparing 97 bulls sa 2018 gsw. panalo bulls pag 90s rules, panalo gsw pag rules ngayon. ganun din sa scenario na to. if they (esp ateneo) depend more on physicality and psi-war to win the game, then the more recent teams beat the legends in today's officiating.

Talent wise and athleticism lamang na lamang ung players ngayon.And also more hype because of the sudden surge of multimedia.But mental and physical toughness lamang na lamang yung panahon nila The Ninja and Wesley.I can say as a UAAP fan who also came from a UAAP school na mananalo pa din ung older version ng DLSU and Ateneo team kaysa sa young counterparts nila ngayon simply because of that reason.Ang player kasi na magaling maoovercome nila yan and never magbaback down sa ganyan kapisikal at asarang laro.Nothing against the younger generations that these schools have but their kuyas will have their numbers. 💚💛
