11:36 Ah, yes. The classic moment.
“Hey I know you.”
“No you don’t.”
Had almost the same energy as the Sonic the Hedgehog movie scene.
*makes a near perfect landing after majestically leaping over a billboard* “Hey, what’d you think of the kid?”
same thing in skyrim
"Hey I know you"
*mashes the exit conversation button"
7:37 NO YOU DON'T. God that kills me every time.
I love how aggro Cole gets, plus how both good (for the time) and endearingly janky the face mapping was
I think the main problem was they used the face mapping for the whole game instead of using it just during the interagation/interveiw , so during normal cutscenes they still used it which caused those cutscenes to look funny as fuck
@@MrAirZone25 and caused massive budget issues for the game
First mention of the gas chamber at 6:01, no you don't at 7:38, comedy gold at 11:34, underrated facial expression at 14:19, mulligan at 22:48, nosey old hag at 24:30 and right into the ''oh shit'' at 24:42, ''wow'' at 32:37.
11:35 the WORST conversation starter at Thanksgiving dinner
46:44 The number police joke had me tearing up
One of my favorite playthroughs
"You like Jazz Cole"
33:23 when Ray killed a man telepathically
Apparently, cole is 27 years old in the game....looking like he's been around for 45 years with those squints and facial expressions though!
And Captain Donnelly is like 24. 1940s LA is a death trap.
@@noisepuppet people in the old days used to age like milk.
To quote another youtuber: " this was the time where dude's looked 40, sound like they're 12, and are 25"
Cause Cole fucking parties, he isn't like you nerds who sit at home
To be fair this is the day and age where people are smoking like 12 packs each day
7:37
How I respond to old high school "friends" nowadays
8:49 he looks like the Walter puppet that Jeff Dunham uses
He's desperately trying to not take a shit.
I so want a sequel to this game still. You can do so much more with this concept, and storywise they would have so much stuff to explore. imagine a sequel set in the late 60ies for example. The haircuts everyone would have alone would be incredible.
I remember when watching this at first thinking that the sudden accusation of the main character banging the random german woman being so out of right field and confusing that it seemed like they were faking it to frame him, such a strange story decision
especially with Cole rebuffing advances like 3 times during the traffic desk, it seems so far out.
They do give the reason for the affair AFTER it happens in a conversation Elsa (the German woman) has
didn’t get it at first, but after playing the game I got it and realized it didn’t come out of right field
@@CharizardMaster69 then what was the reason?
Ah yes, Cole's perfect drawn sketches. Man I should replay this game.
L.A. Noire. What a fantastic game. I just re-watched Funhaus playing it(incluiding their new episode) Happy to see more L.A. Noire content.
The adultery plot of this game doesn't make much sense, but it was still a pretty fun game at the time. The facial animations haven't aged the best though.
True, although they were super groundbreaking for the time. They definitely outstrip any attempt at motion captured facial animation at the time.
It hasn't aged badly at all--it's still pretty much the best facial animation in a game. What has aged is the actual face textures and how the faces don't have subsurface scattering. the realistic animations coupled with the much less realistic faces moves it into uncanny valley and makes it look really weird to you.
@@LazzyVamples It looks like melted plastic making really exaggerated expressions and they stop looking like real faces. It was a weird mix of good and bad technology that could have used some subtlety that probably just wasn't possible at the time.
@@VirusVescichetta Exaggerated expressions is common in all acting. You just don't notice most of the time because movies and TV is only shown in 24FPS and they look fine at that framerate. In fact, teh exaggerated expressions largely exist to compensate for that framerate in the first place. If you ever watch a movie that's either been interpolated or shot in a high framerte, it'll prolly look weird to you too.
Ayy, the only game I ever made it into one of your clip highlights!
The classic "It's like he's looking into the sun!" (8:40) made it into the Year 3 compilation video and I didn't even realize it was my clip featured until months later on a rewatch.
4:50 "are you the half??" I did a literal spit take.
This might be my favorite comp. I love this game so much, and love Cole as a character, but I get start getting sick if I play for more than 15 minutes at a time. So having this Conde set playthrough with Ray's reactions being so similar to my own first reactions let's me sorta relive it all. Think I've fallen asleep to this 4 times already thank you light, thank you ray
Roy 'n' Ray, partners on the scene, I-N-V-E-S-T-I-G-A-T-I-N-G ❤
OMG YES! I loved this playthrough of Ray's and the thumbnail really hits it on the nail as to why Ray just is a great entertainer. I do not take much to be entertained, but I do hold myself to a high quality of content and Ray has always delivered.
the facial animation in this is incredible wtf
I’ve watched this video 4 or 5 times in full now. Excellent work
I remember catching this live. Hard to believe that was half a decade ago.
@22:45 when he kills the hostage LMAO
loving the highlights Ray and Light!
Thanks!!
I've been binging the whole playthrough this past week and then I see this. Must be fate!
Ah one of rays best playthroughs
Ngl, Ray wears that plaid shirt well
L.A. Noire is probably the most unintentionally hilarious game I've ever played
Just played this game for the first time a few months ago. Fantastic game!
Gooch Inspector made me laugh so hard
Don’t knock the profession, Pat
I wish more games had characters named Ray just to see how he would interact with them
Ah yes.. a simpler time.. oh how I miss the days of 2017
yo i rewatched the vods for this series just a few weeks ago and now i get to reexperience it again
4:32 THE CLOTHESLINE
15:08 RANDY ORTON
48:58 CAR SUPLEX
9:45 Dudley Boyz
14:31 If there is one thing I hope Rockstar never changes in their games it's the way the characters in cars will just continue a casual conversation after catching some serious air.
I recently replayed this game in vr and it is just as good
TO THE GAS CHAMBER!
I loved this game and wish Rockstar would make another like it.
If not LA, maybe another city?
Finally, a nice Roman Catholic streamer for me to watch so my mother accepts me.
Probably my favorite rockstar game. No one really talks about it anymore
So...What chemical was that at 48:26? For science of course.
Hhheeeyyy, I know you!!!
No you don't.
I think i know him too,i think his name is roy or something and he works for challenge finder
Aww man, shout out to the Secret Slime
Valdez never answered the question did he
16:56 - "Evening, Doc. How's business?"
"Sanguine."
[consisting of or relating to blood. of the complexion]
Came here for the Valdez interview, was not dissapointed
TO THE GAS CHAMBER
Gay Ray's Reggae Bar, this is Ray
Secret slime pog
I really want more Noir games from Rockstar
Man. The first game i ever 100% and got the platinum for. This game got me through a lot of stuff
Ray is embracing his inner cholo with that sweet plaid shirt
45:33 god living in the past must’ve been dreadful. I know I sound like a complete entitled millennial but this is the kind of thing that if you presented it to me nowadays I’d just say “actually I’ll just go give my gun and badge to my captain, this shit is too much.”
The fucking Bazinga got me
Avatar in 3D was REALLY pretty in theaters. I'm glad it was my first 3D movie.
I think the part at 49:00 ish where cole says “shut your fucking mouth” and the following scene is my favorite personally
Why didn’t they use this facial movement tech for any other game? Rockstar could lease that tech to everyone like with Epic and the Unreal Engine. Imagine perfecting that tech and what it could do to todays games?
Is the remaster worth $40? I've never played the game before.
👍
Idk if I’m just too high but why do their face movements look so stretchy
1:20
Hi
That jew comment my god imagine a cop saying that now
ikr crazy
@@whoknows8264 indeed
I think some still do
@@JohnWick-rh1zz never know
Marie was WAY hotter...
33:25
You really gotta stop saying that Ray xD
16:29
Was the 69th like, niiccee!
I always wanted to play this game but it uses facial expressions which is next to impossible for autistics to read.
