UPDATE: We won 2nd place in the 48 hour competition! 🥈 The short film “Sober Society” is now live on Vimeo! (link in description) Let us know what you think!

@@FullFrameStudio Yes! Over 7 years of projects and competitions we’ve made wonderful connections with film folks in our city, many who typically do commercial work with this gear itching to shoot some narrative films. :) My cinematographer also works full time at a gear shop (as mentioned above) so luckily we’re able to barrow gear occasionally to showcase for the company! We’ll be shooting with more affordable gear in a few videos this year to show the technical possibilities of indie filmmaking without Arri’s, anamorphic lenses, etc! 📸
this is so cool, i’ve got to convince some friends to this. way to really create something from start to finish though (plus that actual editing and shooting of this video is well made).
I envy your community and hope I am able to surround myself with people who have the same passion for filmmaking. It’s not just about making a movie, but the memories on set and the collective effort from the team. This is very inspiring!
Just did my first 48-hour film project because I saw you do this one on Instagram - worth every second! It's great to see a behind-the-scenes look from an actual filmmaker instead of a doofus with a dslr lol
Oh hell yeah!! 🔥🔥 Glad I could be of some inspiration! More filmmakers should try the 48’s! They’re stressful but such a blast if you’re with the right people. :)
I am about to do my 14th (i think) 48hr project this coming weekend. I highly recommend doing these projects to keep honing your skills to anyone who is interested in filmmaking. Its awesome to see other 48 filmmakers in the wild. You do a great job with all of your videos! Keep up the awesome work. :)
Thank you for all the love on the new video everyone! 🖤 Our film “Sober Society” is currently still in the judging phase with the festival, so depending on how the awards go at the end of August, that will determine if our short ends up on TH-cam or not in early September! So stay tuned‼️ More indie filmmaking content coming up in the following weeks! 🎥
This is awesome!! Somehow I stumbled on this as I'm about to do almost the exact same thing, but based off my all-time favorite book. This was organically recommended to me outside of me following you on Instagram, which is pretty cool. Love that you are always just going after it and making things without overthinking it!!
@@anjomo96 Most of our friends on other teams do the same! Lock down locations and have a few general story ideas before jumping into it head on. 🫡 We still have the awards show coming up at the end of this month, so it’ll likely be online in September! 🙂
Why they left out that Spanish dude with the black shirt out the picture. Everyone was position correctly except him, why not tell him to squeeze in ? Idk just felt bad, I’ve been on sets where it seems like majority are all friends and feel awkward, sometimes left out of the loop. Ya feel
Nawwwwww we love him! Just took the pic on a self timer phone and didn't realize he got cut out until after the shoot. I photoshopped him back in the photo haha!

I enjoy the “making of” videos just as much as the films! Love all the editing and insights behind the scenes! Bravo! 👏🏼
Thanks so much
I cannot wait to see this, every shot looked gorgeous from coloring to composition
If the behind the scenes is this good I can only imagine how great the actual film is. You're gonna go far in this biz
"no one's getting paid" has an Arri on set with a crazy setup and anamorphic lenses. jokes aside looks amazing! You guys must have crazy connections
Among other equipement, i was wondering about that as well.
I participate in 48s as well...there are people who go all out and bring all the big toys. It is unreal.

when talent hit her head and DP goes - "lets just keep going guys" ... ive never related to someone so much in my life lolz
This makes me nostalgic for Seattle. I grew up there but haven't been back in quite a few years. But those driving shots bring back memories.
Love this vid! Anyone else remember how much they love all the ups and downs of filmmaking from watching this?

Sooo happy i found your channel. love seeing more film girls over here. i loveeee it!

Dude that's wild!! hehe likewise!! Can't wait to see what you do next Tristan!
So much fun to see this! Great job you guys 💕
A fart room is probably one of the realist on set inventions you could make. I'll take one for the editing bay too! 🤣
Awesome video! Love seeing the behind the scenes adventures 😄🥳
Have my screening for the LA 48hr tomorrow, and man was it an insane journey!! Crazy how much of a learning experience the first year is lol
Yes! It only gets better from there! 😄
Awesome vid Katy!!

THIS IS GREAT AND AMAZING AND KEEP GOING

i would totally buy that "we -dont- make good films" shirt
That was really cool! Thanks for sharing!
I’m planning to do the 48h project in October and make a behind the scenes just like this!!!
Do it!!
What a great group, looks like it came together really well- where can we watch the film?
Good job Katy
Well made! I wish I was there 😢
I'm probably doing mine as well this year!
@@Ranger7Studios 👏👏👏
cool vid! even though I would have deleted the guy at 19:00
Naw he ties the whole vid together 🎀
That's cool.
NOTHING better than watching someone Op a Trinity on a 48hr festival!
Yes, yes it is haha. He’s our one and ONLY trinity op in Seattle.
great video, would love to see the film, where could i watch it?
Subscribed just after seeing the title
Question, did you plan to make it a party movie and then adapt the idea to your genre? I'm a 48er as well. Those are intense.
@@anjomo96 yep! Basically went into it knowing we were going to shoot in our backyard, some sort of party scene! 🎊
@@katyjoyfilmssthat is smart...it's not "pre-writing" so it isn't against the rules. When will your film be available to view?

❤❤
What is the application that the black-haired girl uses on the iPad to be able to carry all the production?
Where can we see the entire film?
Just uploaded! Link in the description now :)
I see a lot of expensive gear, how much money did the film cost you?
One year I did 48 hours back to back one week a Houston 48 and then the next week was the Dallas 48
That is actually insane 😭 the sleep deprivation man !!
instant followed you. I'm a fellow filmmaker! =)
That Blake fella is an odd one.
He's a personality hire
Another "Yep, Yep, Very Yep!" video.
Is the “making” the short film?
Its a requirement that no one gets paid? How does that possibly work with a crew or actors?

can we upload the damn shortfilm???
