- I took my Daughter to The Snipe a Hungry Horse Pub for The UK's worst Pub Food! She begged me not to make her eat it. I asked her to taste some and she was sick. You won't believe how bad this food is. This has to be the worst Pub Food in the United Kingdom. In fact this is the worst place I have ever reviewed.

Lee Your daughter is ABSOLUTELY correct to get a refund us brits tend to keep our mouths shut
This is true. Even BBB would agree cos when u order u enter into a kind of contract.
How true is your statement we don't complain do we?? We should complain especially when we pay good money for certain items especially food! With the cost of living constantly raising we us Brits tend to pay premium rates for absolute rubbish food.
We need to complain more cos after all when tourists come to the UK depending on where they are from they expect quality food from the UK don't they?
I don't know about anyone else but whenever I have been away their food is far better than we get here in the UK! Wonder who agrees with me on that statement? Also the portion sizes! Wow prices increased portion size decreased!
When me and my daughters went to Portugal (pre COVID) we were shocked when our food came out! Hence to say the restaurant we 1st visited put into containers what we couldn't eat which served as our evening meal the following night when some still leftover and price wise so so so so much cheaper than back here in the UK we didn't think the quality would be up to much cos of the food being so cheap but wow oh wow how very wrong we were! Very wrong! The food was of very good quality and cooked to perfection lots of flavours just so absolutely beautiful! We were able to dine out every other night due to prices and I say every other night cos because no matter where we ate and despite ordering less food we still ended up taking food back to the villa. We had our favourite places (we go for 2 FULL WEEKS after all. We only ended up having breakfast and the occasional lunch at the villa due to wanting to explore Portugal which is a beautiful place and the villa done via air b&b, car hire done UK side and flights were a goodish deal. All in all the whole holiday including meals out came to less than it would have cost as a package holiday without car hire may I add! While there I looked up holidays coming from Portugal and even those compared to UK were again cheaper! Come on Britain' let's stop standing for being RIPPED OFF! Prices becoming so expensive and what we get for that 😞😭 shocking! Watching your video the food no really bad in presention and me being a chef by trade (I don't do it anymore due to not being able to use good quality instead we had to use cheap 2nd/3rd grade items) I couldn't take pride in my work anymore. Your food looked like yesterday's leftovers only fresh looking things were the egg and the chips sort of! Disgusting I wouldn't have even ate what your daughter ate.
I wouldn't have paid at all! It's dry cos the want you to fill up on drinks and cos your left hungry you would order dessert! The remarks on taste proves the food was leftovers and warmed up very badly, your chips double dipped and only done enough to warm them up and the chips they were frozen btw, they get ya to pay Infront so you feel obliged to eat it and they must know their food isn't up to much so they know us being British instead of complaining we just put up with it as we don't make scenes do we??
Come on British people let's start sticking up for ourselves and stop paying for such utter and absolute rubbish!!!

To be fair it looked like regular pub grub to me, you said everything was greasy but then said it was all dry....
U can have over cooked bad produce that's chewy and dry but greasy, that's very possible
I'm really liking your daughter being in your videos. She's very honest and she was bang on getting a refund. She's relatable and real... 16yrs ago I was taken to a hungry horse and it made me sick, literally made me vomit. My ex's mom took me. Since then I've never seen either my ex, his mum or a hungry horse 😂 not even joking. I've never had a bad meal since lol
we are a couple in our 60s finding nothing to watch on TV. The Master is simply the best. Great honest viewing for families. Thank you.

When i looked at the menu I thought, there's bound to be the steak and ale pie!( controversial) . Only been to an HH twice, the same one about 16 years ago. The first time the food was ok-ish, I had the pie, the Mrs. had fish and chips.we did have to wipe the table down though!
Went a year or so later I still had the pie/casserole with lid! The Mrs. Went for Hunter's Chicken. Wiped chairs and table down! Food arrived, moved my plate and felt something crusty underneath, so lifted it up and was greeted by a mass of dried ketchup! Mrs. got Food poisoning from her meal!!!! Will never eat in one again! It's the staff I feel sorry for because they get the brunt of the complaints. Anyway, onwards my friend 😊

I was actually going to ask you whether it was comparable to the Palace and you bought it up (no pun intended), you should have just gone to that chap in the food "truck" in the industrial estate that you reviewed the other day. His kitchen was clean, his attention to detail superb and his burgers looked delicious 😋...and a great chap to boot. The Hungry Horse should learn from him, the food looked inedible.
The chef should be fired on the verge of throwing up I would not feed that to a dog I hpe your daughter made a quick recovery I would of asked for a refund

Went to a Hungry Horse last year and got a Sunday Lunch burger which came with beef dripping cooked roast potatoes. Ended up getting a refund the burger was cold and the roast potatoes tasted of ammonia. Absolutely vile.
The mess in the toilet was probably the aftermath of eating one of those sausages 😂

Why are these establishments now passing that crap off as a mixed Grill. A true Mixed grill does not include chicken. It should be steak, gammon, Sausage, pork chop, lamb chop, Kidney, eggs and the Trimmings.

Hardly ever go in my local Hungry Horse and can see why! looked like the only decent thing was the slice of pineapple (nicely grilled and caramelised). Give me a Spoons any day!
Got to be the damndest report on a food place ever lee! Fair play for actually slating a place, not seen you done that for a long time, also, hungry horse is a chain, so they defo should be exposed (at least the bad ones) well done!
Some of these chains are bad, food dry and rank, agree with you. Lovely to see your daughter out with you, very pretty.😊 But good to have two opinions, good for us viewers as feedback.
We used to have a hungry horse in Hereford the food was terrible but now changed to grandstand food is now excellent lovely to see you both ❤

I rate you Mac and that dinner looks dead, but then sausages are the same you get in Benidorm and your saying how terrible they are here. You can’t tell me them dingy bars in beni have quality produce that you rave about. Now I’ve been to some great bars in beni for food but you talk about it likes it’s unreal.

They are terrible here because they are warmed up from breakfast. I clearly said that. If they were cooked from fresh if have been fine that they were a standard sausage. That's the difference James. 👍🏻
The staff where great I ain't got a prob with the staff? The food was rank the toilets where covered in excrement and the tables and seats etc needed sanitising! Who is responsible for that if not the staff?

Hi Lee, we tried our local Hungry Horse (Mirfield) when our daughter was little and never went again. It looks like they haven't improved in the last 25 years. In fact the food you had looked like it could have been left over from our visit! More recently we've just spent a fantastic weekend at the Dales food and drink (and mud) festival - you should go next year, you could film a month's worth of videos in one go.
Still doesn't top the time in Australia when I ordered 'bangers & mash' and got 2 frankfurter hot dog sausages on powdered mash potatoes, with no gravy.
Will definitely swerve the Hungry Horse chain in future, makes you wonder what kind of staff they have working in their kitchens.
Nothing worse than sitting down at a grubby table either.

Like weatherspoons, everything is warmed up. Wouldn't waste your money on them, they're all pretty much the same.

I have been to two Hungry Horse pubs near where I live and both have been disappointing tbh and I never returned to them again even though the staff were really good at both pubs which is a real shame and reflects badly for the company as a whole. Watching Paige having to clean the tables alone and seeing the dirt would have put me off completely from ordering any food at all from that venue. First impressions count imo because if the place isn't clean for the customers what is the kitchen like where the food is prepared and also are the cooking staff fully trained for preparing and cooking the food? I'm glad you both sent the food back and got your money back. Thanks for posting this video.
I went to one in Ipswich, which had a big lump of chicken on the wall! The server wasn’t even bothered and left it there.
The hungry horse near me does the worst mixed grill, it was dry and the chicken tastes like it’s been boiled in a bag. The only thing that ever looks nice is the burgers. The Sunday roast in my local is actually very bad as well and can’t believe how many people actually eat it 😷

if these places were rated on hygiene alone probably a few under table swabs and toilet door swabs would gain them a warning to up their game. The staff are overworked and, in my experience it's the hygiene side that gets neglected. If your eating space is filthy, imagine what the kitchens could be like. I think she deserves a smashed burger or one of his breakfasts. That, (smashed burgers) was a smashing video. Onwards.
Went here with friends on ‘Curry Wednesday’…..awful…..never going here again, they even managed to burn the poppadums🙈. Friend thought they’d left there eye glasses here I went back Approx 30 mins later on my return journey home and they still hadn’t cleared the table….asked staff if anyone had handed any eye glasses in…they said ‘why would they’ 🤷🏻♂️🙈….eye glasses weren’t here in end. Seems staff don’t care and that’s reflected also in the poor quality food.
Not been in the Snipe for about 10 years and it doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned since! Those sausages look like the cheap frozen ones from Aldi and I only feed those to my dogs as a treat! Thanks for the heads up Lee,I will make sure we don’t go in there in the future either, although there are always cars parked there when I drive past so some people must suffer it.
Hiya Lee, I watched this review with interest as I run an over 60's group in my town, we meet three times a month, and one of those meets is at a Hungry Horse (The Hobson's Choice, Kettering), I have to say that we must be very fortunate with our experiences with this chain, we have always had a very positive experience, great staff, good value food (and very edible), and great value for money. That said, I could not believe how bad your food looked, I would not have even tried to eat that, it was truly appalling to look at (let alone eat!). Hope your lass is okay now, and not having nightmares of soggy onion rings & dry chips! Take care!
Im so glad i didn't go into the hungry horse pub in Milton Keynes. We went to another pub 4 miles away and the food was delicious.
So sorry that the two of you had to go through that experience, hope you did not sick later. On to the next one.

I love the banter between you and Paige. I have 3 girls of similar age to her. If you're ever in Milton Keynes, please try out 5 Akhis burgers on Peartree Bridge. Keep up the fantastic work. I love it.
My local hungry horse, is good but they sometimes forget bits on the plate, so I tend to avoid booths, as it sets my allergies off they are never clean, glad you got your money back that place is the pits, needs new manager and team

Our local Hungry Horse is exactly the same! You need a chainsaw to eat the steak! These chain pubs seem to think they can throw any old rubbish out!🤮🤮🤮
You get what you pay for.
I would not order what you had, but had other meals in the hungry horse in Dunstable, and really enjoyed it, always take the grandchildren in there, and they clear the plate and dessert 😊
Paige you did the correct thing there demanding a refund and from now on I will steer clear of Hungary Horse Pubs as it looked awful !!
Thing is all these places that sells what I call plastic food are similar ( Green king, weatherspoons etc etc).

Lee their is a cabin called Sammy Joes, literally round the corner from The Snipe that does breakfast a lovely home made pie on a Wednesday if you are in the area again
Hilarious as I’ve been here and it was bad then too. Been a few times oddly enough. They had a grand reopening last I went and it was exactly the same as before and sorta run down. They just put a bunch of crappy electronic screens on the wall and thought that was enough for a relaunch.

Greedy Kerching pub food is not worth the money, make me laugh when people complain about Wetherspoons food but don't mention worse food and twice the price in chain pubs.
Good grief that looked depressingly awful. Your perpetual message about supporting local independent businesses is a strong one. Not all chain restaurants are bad but many are , they trade on price and that’s it. No love in the product. Keep up the good work sir 🙏🙏
Badger Box at Annesley turned into a Hungry Horse years ago. Meals looked brill on paper, very reasonable price. It was rammed first week until folk sampled the food.. Shocking! Crap cheap pub food.
That place is the last pub I would ever go in, only live 2minutes walk away and the last time I went in was around 5 years ago with much the same outcome! Food has always been microwave food and always had dirty, sticky table and chairs, a visit to the mens would normally reveal some lowlife would have a Tom Tit in the urinals instead of the toilet, very nice to be confronted with. Nice to see they haven’t changed much.

Went to our local Hungry Horse the other week (mainly because our local Harvester had closed!) and the steak & chips, followed by Millionaire cheesecake, was fine!

Ah yeah, I went there a couple of months ago and it was as dire you found it. I've been a couple of years ago and it was standard chain food, not great but not terrible. They seem to have fallen into the typical chain trap of reducing the quality of the food. I guess it'll be a long while till either of go there again!
Can't fault Paige I do the same far as cleaning is concerned. Snipe used to be decent 20 years ago, but afraid been taken over by many chains since then. Not nice at all I'm afraid 😱 Anagram could also be pines you naughty Macmaster 😂

As someone who grew up in Texas it’s funny reading the words “Texan BBQ sauce”. Never seen Texan written on a Menu, unless it was referring to the Texan clientele enjoying the food. We just say, “Texas BBQ sauce”.
I've read lots of bad reviews for many hungry horse pubs on here and other internet sources and quite a few of my friends and family have had bad experiences with them. They really need to sort themselves. Your video made me feel sick just watching, that food looked vile

Foot Man, I thought you said something else. Can't do Greasy food but the Hungry horse chain are renowned for Shiite food, I only went in one between lockdowns never again. The only thing that looked Edible was those eggs. Palace cafe now that was a funny Vlog. TBF my local is a Hungry Horse, and think its great, great staff and food is edible.
Nothing has changed with HH - back in the early 2000’s me and then girlfriend Juliet went to a HH - it was shite - we got a refund that time and tokens for free meals - we never went back. This was in 2003
The martlets in Bognor is a hungry horse as well and the food was really good there. Had one of the full monty mixed grills as well but with beans instead of peas
There is a hungry horse in Rhyl called the harbour, been there 3 times as we have a static caravan near there and they didn't have any cod on all 3 occasions I went so I couldn't have my fish and chips which is my favourite food, I ended up having a lasagne that was dry maybe all hungry horse franchises are worth avoiding, I left them a nice review on trip advisor.
After that wiping the filth of everything i would have walked straight away me and my family had looked in going there for food all 10 of us but now we definitely wont be going disgraceful great content Lee and paige.
I've just watched your last two videos the wrong way round, did this have any effect on your Sainsburys score. The breakfast at Sainsbury's looked well nicer.
I stopped going there nearly two years ago because I had two separate dinners where the chicken skewers weren't even cooked in the middle. The food took ages to come out too and even when I sent the food back, it took even longer to get a replacement. After watching this video, it's made up my mind not to visit again and I live locally... The Fox and Crown in Sutton in Ashfield isn't a bad place to go, maybe you could try there one day.

Hi your experience mirrors exactly the very same we had at a hungry horse 9 Mike's from home, except when I complained the waitress started crying on my complaint, when I approached the manager to complain and ask for my money back as we paid on ordering, now know why...He refused to refund as we had eaten some and I upset the waitress! I can confirm I complained in a soft spoken manner and politely.. complained to head office in the car park and explained, head office refunded the whole cist..Hungry horse is shite and never will return to one knowingly... or the other similar Green King.. cheers lee
Hi boy, the only thing that looked half appetizing are the grilled pineapple rings. Lee, what a disappointment, and your daughter was correct to get the refund. For such a lovely looking building on the outside, it was so deceiving.😢

We go to the hungry horse at stoke bardolph,the ferry boat .it's at the side of the Trent and dog friendly .The stack burger was quite good on the buy one get one free .
The staff might have been pleasant, but they obviously were not doing their job, if the place was dirty.

Blimey now being a truck driver I've eaten some terrible food in some terrible places but that food looks appalling looks greasy undercooked and where's the rest of the chips on your mixed grill the menu said extra large portion of chips if that's large ide hate to see a regular portion definitely not worth the money and fair play getting a refund I've looked at this pub a few times hoping to visit but I'll definitely give it a miss and stick to j29 truckstop where the food is spot on hope she feels better and I hope you told the management how rubbish the food was 😮

Lee tell me in all honesty you can read any of the small print on the menu. It's all just a blure. what was the food rating on this place. It sounds like we need health and safety to go there.

If a place is dirty, unclean it puts you off straight away 😕😕
Those sausages probably were left over from breakfast.
But you go supposed cheap end (as eating out anywhere isn't cheap anymore) and you get cheap. Product, produce that looked unappetizing and cooking badly.
I will state not all hungry horses are not like this, same as all chain restaurants are unfortunately not the same...
We use a well known chain 'W' up the road as fantastic but the one in the next town is horrendous.
Good on your daughter for not accepting it and asking for a refund, £25 is a lot of money to pay for bad food, 😢😢😢
Hi Lee, Seeing as you have just had a very bad experience, may I offer a suggestion for a Sunday carvery, try The Hogs Head at Awsworth, you will need to book, but I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised by the cost, the food and the surroundings. My brother, sister in law and myself enjoy our Sunday lunch, and having tried a few local places we have decided that we'll just book here and not bother wasting our time and be disappointed eating else where. I don't work there, I'm not friends or related to anyone there, just enjoy good food and pleasant surroundings....highly recommend.

Me, my partner and 5 month old baby went here a couple of weeks ago. I needed to warm my babies bottle but apparently can’t be trusted with hot water and had to leave my bottle at the bar. I wasn’t very happy with this as I don’t like leaving my babies food unattended. Then they locked the disabled toilet/baby change to be awkward. Also the toilets are really dirty! The best hungry horse in the area is The Mundy Arms
The worst 'meal' I ever had was chips and some horrible raw trout, with hard peas. Served in some shi**y resturant. I was drunk at the time and tried to eat it. I did eat some, but I threw up too. Not long after I decided I would never drink again. I vowed to have my senses, wits around me day and night. Best thing I ever did. Being sober 24/7 is a greater thrill. For me, at least. Cheers.

The protein was re-cooked, thats why it was all tough, but i guess the price reflects that..
Hungry Horse ( should have revolving doors as they go through more staff than customers ) sausages - deff warm ups from breakfast, big batch cooked up then stuck in plastic containers in the fridges, low quality food at a high turnover..who ever cooked that i wouldn't let near a microwave again - Taxi for Chef Mic!!
Hungry Horses all have the same food to serve, it's not the food it's who cooks it, we use one and never had a problem, we went to one somewhere else and the food was disgusting, we walked out
I have had the mixed grill from Hungry Horse before and think it is pre-cooked and they just warm it up as I couldn't eat the chicken as it was funny tasting and waterery and sausages were awful.
