Superb compilation. I'd love to spend a week or two and visit some of these lines as you've done. It really is a lovely place Wales and the narrow gauge lines are the icing on the cake. The Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways are probably the best of them all. Very enjoyanle video. Thanks for sharing - Hayden
Hi glad you liked it. At Pont Croesor, there is a display about some nesting Ospreys. They have now fledged the nest so it's unlikely you'll get to see them. Looks like a great event you're going to and we'll look out for your footage of it. Regards Joseph
Hi Hayden. Thanks for watching. It was our first visit to all these lines so we thought we would show a compilation first. The weather was poor at Bala and the footage was spoilt by it. However, this and all the other lines were superb and hope to come back and add a few more lines. Regards Joseph
Hi thanks for watching and the information regarding the Romanian engine. This was our first visit to the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway and we were very impressed with it. We were on our way back from our week in North Wales but next year we hope to come and spend a full day there. We have some more footage of the event and we'll upload some soon. Regards Joseph
We struggled with the rain at Bala and quite a few clips had raindrops on the lens despite Dad holding a brolley for me. We went to Porthmadog afterwards and didn't get one picture. The weather got worse. It was our first time at all the locations. At the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway, I agree that Dougal and the Romanian engine did look superb. Regards Joseph
Hi Phil. Nearly all the clips were with the new monopod, having worn out the old one. One clip was with the tripod and Dad chipped in with just a few clips handheld. All the locations were new to us so it was a challenge trying to find decent locations. Regards Joseph
Hi Tommy. Thought we might try uploading a compilation first so that we could show every loco we filmed. We were based in Barmouth and all the locations we used were easy to get to. The Welshpool and Llanfair Railway Steam Gala was filmed on our way home. Probably my favourite railway was Welsh Highland Railway and Dad's was the Talyllyn. Regards Joseph
Most enjoyable to watch Joseph. I loved some of the locations in your video and I shall be at the WHR next Saturday (15th) so I will try some of the locations in your video. JamesandPeter
Hi thanks for watching and leaving a comment. By the end of the week, I had about 2 hours of footage so just wanted to show a cross-section, not necessarily just the best bits. Regards Joseph
The Romanian engine has been ultra troublesome but, crossing everything, accounts suggest it is much improved. One of the odd results of the alterations made for practical reasons, such as the taller cab, different chimney to suit Lempor exhaust and smokebox door with central dart has been to turn an ugly brute into a good looking machine. Have you any more footage of the W&L Gala by any chance?

Hi thanks for watching my video and leaving a great comment. Regards Joseph
Very interesting stuff. I love Maid Marian at Bala heading off into some typical Welsh weather, and Dougal and that Romanian engine at Welshpool
