Happy New Year Dean Emeritus Dean Robert Willis and Fletcher! Thank you so much for sharing your pilgrimage and the Feast of St. Thomas The video shows the beauty of Salamanca as well as the history of the Spanish ( Anglicana) Reformed Church. Salamanca is a Ibeautiful place to visit. Interesting to hear and see the church on honour of St Thomas Becket.
What a wonderful New Year's treat to find this video of both of you. Fletcher, it is the first time that you have had a voice in for the Garden Congregation. Bravo! I so enjoyed the connection of the Choughs that we first met in Canterbury and to know that they are now set free and hopefully repopulating England! Have a blessed New Year and I will be looking for more about your pilgrimage as time goes on.
I give thanks and remember you in my prayer: Thanks be to the Lord of all, maker of all things seen and unseen: for the ministry of Dean Robert and the fellowship of the Garden Congregation . May you flourish and rejoice in the Life of Christ and be refreshed by the visiting presence of the Holy Spirit this first day of January 2024.
I have lived in Madrid and traveled extensively throughout Spain over the last 45+ years, including visits to Salamanca, and I never knew about the connection to Becket or that there is an Episcopal congregation there. You have animated me to return, to make a pilgrimage to Salamanca, one of my favorite Spanish cities, to visit this church. Gracias!
Carol, where did you live originally? My uncle lived in the Madrid area for over 45 years, but passed many years ago. His life there spurred me to study in Sevilla for a semester, but that was in 1981, and sadly I never returned. Just recently, I have been back to studying mySpanish on my own, and watching as much as I can on the country. Oh my, has Spain changed! (like everywhere, I know, yet it is shocking!) = ) Happy New Year form Los Angeles, Ca. Nancy

If this is a Roman Catholic Church, l will comment. If this is another denomination, l remove my criticism in this comment: These men are having an interview in The Church of Saint Thomas in Salamanca: Spain to do such an event is Sacrilege: This is a Church not an interview room: The Blessed Sacrament, The Eucharist is present in this Church: that is " The Presence of Jesus Christ:" l can see the Tabernacle it is on the back wall in a niche The Altar is metres away from their conversation: the Priest? sitting with his back to the Altar, has no concept of his actions: We don't have conversations in Roman Catholic Churches, we do our talking outside. This Place is the House of God: a House of ❤Worship:❤ This whole thing is irreverent: This is insulting and sad !!!
I have similar reaction when our wonderful cathedrals are filled with garish coloured lights for particular events, and yet glad they are used for special recitals… I am conflicted. And how Anglicanism has to find a way between spiritual and temporal. Like us all. And how we have to find a way to live together…. History tells us this has never been easy.
So good to see you both. Can't wait until Fletcher begins his gardening channel!
P.S. How nice to see you, Fletcher, on the other side of the camera. Good work!!❤
How wonderful to see and hear you again, and to see Fletcher for the first time. Your morning prayers are much missed.
