I'd start from the back of the store and just start packing it all up and work my way forward. Then worry about the trailer and the shipping crate after the main barn was cleared out. This is wild!
You definitely get your money back faster that route. The trailer seemed to have more low-value items or things that you will take up a lot of room and need to be cleaned and tested like systems.
So excited to go on this journey with you! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future and see how you process all this inventory. Thanks for staying humble and down to earth despite so much crazy growth! Congrats
been watching you since the beginning chase...you have done well young man...its also awesome to see you bring your buddies along with you for the ride. be proud partner....you deserve it.
Everything is already sorted, so easy to find. I would be pulling it out in the order it is stored, number the boxes and work from there. You need a place to store it…so mirror what they have in the barn. Just my thought. The time required to go through and re-sort would be significant.
Most collectors and resellers struggle is finding games and retro gems. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it the other way around! You guys are not going to be needing inventory for quite awhile!
Happy for you guys. Not only is this fun but the profit will be great and just think of how much content this haul can provide as well. Skyler did offer to wear the Sonic suit for a video right? 😆
I bought a game store that went out of business once, my biggest mistake was not having an infrastructure for storage set up ahead of time. Granted I had to get it out of the building in one day so I really didn't have time. If I had to do it over again I would have storage set up and put everything in it's place right away. Not doing so has been my biggest headache.
@@droptinejunkie I just made lot of bundle in the same series asked 3.00-4.00 each shipped they sold fast so I can get them gone and not hold onto them long. When the stuff dont cost me a whole heck of a lot of cash. Otherwise u can pair them with the system and sell them 1.50 each.
So much work proud you guys doing it yourself, Id hire muscle and just organize and direct :) The idea of loading it in the truck then you have to unload it. I'd suggest bringing a marker with you so when you find out what's in box you just write it on the box. Then later you won't need to stop and look at what's in boxes as you need to unload or move them around.
Awesome video! It definitely looks like a lot of work. But it will be worth it. IMO, I would be more than okay with not thrifting for 2 years. Especially on cold, winter days. But I would miss garage sales. Hopefully it works out that you can still hit the best garage sales this year and next. Have a good weekend, Chase, Skylar, and the rest of the crew!
Hit up the web for at least two more commercial dollies so you can move less boxes faster which will aid in the flow and the lifting heavy stuff. Also some color coding of boxes with signs or at least “guesses” of what is in them will also aid the team from the constant opening and looking.

Straightforward. Take 3 days to move it all to a location that you can organize. Rent a space that can house it all (you need it), organize by most valuable to get as much of your capital back as possible. Have the team list while you continue to find more high dollar items and organize. Then, organize by system. Test, and list. Rinse and repeat.
You guys filled up that Uhaul and still so much to go. Going to enjoy watching this journey, as you take the 45k remaining items out of the barn. Also, definitely use the Sonic costume on Whatnot
This is a pretty niche audience but I bet as life gets hard and inflation and unemployment set in over the next few years more people will be interested in this type of thing.
Since you don't have a warehouse yet I would have tried to negotiate keeping everything in the barn( renting the barn) until you can find a place. Or sell it all straight from the barn. And if he wanted it all gone asap, try to buy the shipping container and just move the container with all the contents inside it to a suitable place.
That would be too much money. If anything, he can just rent a storage and store everything in it. I'm sure all those boxes should fit inside of a large storage.

so to use those straps, you both have to bend down and cinch the strap as far down as you can, and then each of you put your hands on the top corners of whatever you are lifting (so it doesn't topple over) and then lift with your legs while also pushing against the item a little. th-cam.com/video/ILp0FOIlMmo/w-d-xo.html

a once in a lifetime buy. a heck lot of work...but you guys are still young & can manage i think 😅 most of all a good learning experience on how to handle a massive amount (esp. sorting through bulk). creating an exit strategy for later down the road might be a good idea too, if you keep coming across big collections (who knows haha) & the backlog keeps growing and growing. i never bought a whole store... but a few large collections. buying opportunities are always out there & that's what makes it fun. i do wonder what I'll do with all the leftovers one day tho. perhaps the greatest resellers will have the best collections / inventories for wholesale. or sell to the younger generations.😂
Future Rons will arise. (Not sure if you have seen our videos with hobby shop ron ) … but he is an awesome 80 year old who we have had the pleasure of doing business with. He has passed some great deals onto us and many others
This is a very fun journey to watch sooo many memories of my own buy out.. but guys that avalanche of stock moving around in that truck when you get to the end would be my worry lol - Bring on the sonic outfit
DVDS are a wonderfull seller. Take the time to scan them all and send them in like you do video games. It will take time but in the end you will come out on top. I made a purchase a while back where I had to take over 5000 records, CDs, DVD, and cassettes. Was there mainly for the records but the CDS and DVDS ended being the best sellers along side the cassettes.
@@JustinPer Yes since there main business is amazon. I sold all mine on ebay and just took the time to list them individually. You can list a DVD in 1 min easily I never timed myself but i could get through a whole tote of them in a hour or so.
The only way this could get more impressive is if there were some crazy basketball shots mixed in... Some might say some Outrageous Shots would take this to the next level! Good work boys!
yes wear the costume yes wear the costume yes wear the costume yes wear the costume if you wear it you will go as fast as sonic and it will be easier to pack it all up quicker
I wouldn’t know where to begin… But! Just wanted to add that you shouldn’t sleep on DVDs. Most of them will be $1 each, but there’s value in more obscure stuff. I pick up a horror dvd set for $1.29 at Goodwill that’s worth $50+. I’d say if you don’t recognize it (especially with horror), you should look it up. Good luck finding a place to put all this!
For anyone wondering why the barn guy wanted to sell them all for a fraction of what he could get for selling them, seeing all of this helps it make a lot of sense. If you can't get a bunch of free or cheap labor from friends and family, suddenly a lot of that profit is leaking into paid employees.
Id have tried to make a deal for the actual shipping container included. Then pack it full to the brim (I mean you could still walk thru it) and pay a shipping company to come move it. then its moved and already has a place to be stored.
I get why you are doing so but I don't think I would want to do all the high dollar stuff first. Keep some of that stuff for the end so you always feel like you are finding new "grails" and it will help keep up your enthusiasm for this work. Can't imagine the grind to get through all that stuff.
The market on used video games just went way down when all of this stuff hits Ebay. You will be competing with yourself and I would recommend you list one at a time or create wholesale lots to other resellers. Unless you just take the approach of you now have inventory that will last you years and years if you sell one at a time to maximize profit.
