I would have taken 3 x white/blue - AI takes 2 x yellow - I take 2 white/blue - AI takes 3 blue - I take 1 x white/blue, in an attempt to fill in the same color & set myself up for multiple points (by placing tiles next to white/blue tiles vertical+horizontally) in future turns. So much to think about. So much fun. And lovely to look at. Thank you!!! (and a big fan of your MK videos)
A big thank you for this solo variant Rich, It's such a simple game to play, yet so challenging to beat!! Just played 7 games back to back and only managed to beat the 85 once, a very lucky 95, before it was back to losing again 😆😆👍

Yes it's just the being destroyed that matters... Just a question...don't suppose you have tried tiny epic western solo...there seems to be a lot of issues with solo play.... I am one of the people with issues😂

Excellent video and variant. I just bought the game today and played my first solo round. Clarification-is a win a score of at least 85, or do I have to get higher than 85? (Minimum of 86). I got a score of exactly 85 so I don’t know if I won. Lol.
As it goes, it's a 'beat your own high score'. I challenged folks to beat 85, so yes, 86 or more; but I think 85 counts as a winner's score all the same... great job ! R/

At 4:50 you say you can only place one tile design on each row, so I thought I had been playing the game wrong, but then later in your video you did just that with the light blue/snow flake tile. Perhaps I misunderstood. At 18:57, why didn't the AI take the three blues from the center rather than the two blues from the quarry coaster? Three is greater than two and isn't the AI objective to grab the most tiles?
Hi, for your first question, you can indeed only place one type of tile on each pattern line (that is each row to the left of the black arrow). At the end of a round, if the pattern line is filled and cleared, you can (and most definitely should try to!) start putting a different type of tile on that row. Does that make more sense? I don't I broke that rule.. if I did, shout me the timestamp I'll see if I can explain it or advise if I did indeed make a mistake. For your second question, the AI only takes from the centre once the Factory Displays (the coasters) only contain singletons. Hope this helps! best wishes, Ricky

In this variant do you play only 5 rounds even if you haven’t completed a row? Or do I refill the bag with the tiles in the box and keep going until a row is complete? With only 5 rounds my scores have been very low, but that could just be my lack of skill as of yet!
It plays like a regular game, so you play the 5 rounds and the game ends with the bag empty. If you watch the video you will see me play until game end and final scoring. How do your scores compare to my 61 points in this game?
@@BoxofDelights I’m scoring mostly in the 30’s and low 40’s. Once I have broken 50 I think. The regular game rules say if the bag is empty and nobody has completed a horizontal line, refill the bag with the tiles in the lid and keep going. This is why I asked.

@@stacie_everdell You can't, no. Tiles you picked that round must all be placed on the same Pattern Line (see at 18:01 where I explain this rule).

At 19:00 why didn’t the AI take the three dark blue from the middle?
Because the AI only considers taking from the middle once there are only singletons left in the factory display.
