The reason for the bolt being put in at the top is if one day the nut shakes itself loose and falls off, the bolt will still be in place due to gravity holding it there, and stopping the engine from jumping around and causing more damage. just thought you should bear that in mind :)

Yeh it is happening, looking forward to seeing it running, your welding has improved 100%. The reason for dropping bolts through from the top and the nut on the bottom is if you do lose the nut the bolt will stay in place thus only halving the possible hazard the bolt will stop the motor from twisting as long as the bolt is still fully in place and because of the length would certainly keep the motor from jumping off the motor mount altogether, it is recommended that you do this with as many of the important bolts are dropped in from above it stems from when there were only locking washers or locking wire was available, me I am old school and still prefer to use locking wire especially on my heavily modified Yamaha V-Max and off road buggies, keep up the good work, your motor vehicle knowledge is also improved by a factor of ten, you remind me of me at your age, no You Tube back then no mobiles so hardly any documenting of my crazy motor vehicle antic's Rover V8 into a Ford Popular then into a MK1 Ford Escort where I designed a way of pulling the engine out on sliders straight onto a workbench, just some o the craziness while I self taught all things petrol powered.
Okay, word of warning, electrical tape will melt under high heat conditions. I highly recommend something else on top of the tape to get the best heat shielding for the wires. I had an entire engine harness melt together on me because I was too cheap to get anything to shield the wires from the heat.
Just want to point out that I personally own a Kove Commuter speaker, got it 65% off and I’ve loved every single moment that I’ve used it. Nice to see a company supporting one of my most favorite yt channels.
In my country if you cut some supporting structure from the car, after that it´s just a big paper weight. Even if you bolt it back on you can´t get it MOT´d and you can´t make it road legal. But lacquer the Rally miata, that spray paint will rust during the winter without any protection. It´s much easier and cheaper to protect it now than welding and fixing it at next summer.
I mean, the radiator support isn't a structural part of the car, all it does is hold the radiator and headlight. Most BMWs have removable radiator supports from factory.
It theoretically could pass since the truck is body on frame, and even most unibody cars don't use the radiator support as a vehicle support structure.
@@thelonewanderer420 vibration could unscrew the nut for you while drifting... it is a Nyloc, but with the extreme vibration from the basically hard mounted V8 it could still come loose
6:40 I 100% have the same shit happen to me all the time. Sometimes i even get the goose bumps tingle from how eerie it feels to remember something in that way.
They probably put the engine mount bolt in facing down that way if the nut was to loosen and fall off the bolt will still stay in and act as a pin. If the bolt went in facing up and it loosened, it would just fall out and there wouldn’t be anything holding the engine in place
EJ Productions no, the structural rigidity would barely be effected. It’s only real purpose is to mount the radiator and accessories. They wouldn’t make something that is supposed to hold the car together so thin and right at the front where 95% of collisions happen
There is a reason why the shop put the bolts the way they did, simple reason is if the nut loosens/falls off the bolt will stay in place were as the way you just swapped it the bolt will fall out if the nuts loosens/falls off so your more at risk of engine shifting, just a tip but good progress, loving your videos, keep up the good work.
