Thank you for your incredibly clear videos. I can see the benefit of using a securing stitch for a pattern, but is there a reason to use or not use it when starting or ending a seam on apparel? I like the securing stitch because it is so quick, but I notice many sewers still backstitching to secure instead and was wondering the benefits/drawbacks to the different methods.
Both securing options work. Many people don't have this feature on their machine. Since you have both, learn them both so you can select the best way to secure the seam based on what you are sewing. There is no right or wrong way.
