Glad your back! You did a great job securing the boat for the storm! But don't put off getting new lines! And get a couple extra just in case! Thanks for sharing!
the van nice, but the boat life is better.... first year I had my boat, hurricane came right up the Chesapeake bay... stayed on the boat.. marina turned off electric, otherwise with fixed docks, the plugs would have been underwater....water was about 2 foot over the docks...I obviously survived... may I suggest you wrap your outboard lines around the piling? those cleats are probably only held in place with screws and could pull out..... keep yourself and fluffy butt safe, Tim and Cat
I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been binge watching all day and love the commentary, straight forward and to the point. I'm contemplating on getting a house boat when I move to Florida late this year and was wondering what was all involved in the costs, repairs, and up keeping. Keep up the great content... Subscribed!
Hi! I just found and subscribed to your channel a few days ago and have been enjoying watching what you share! I myself have always wanted to live on a houseboat...maybe someday I'll make it happen but, until then, I'll enjoy watching you do your thing ;)
I love this so much first off your relationship with your pup is heart warming I love it. I wanted to ask has anything crazy happed while your on the boat like has it ever almost tipped or anything like that?
I'm not sure if I could handle all that rocking. I'm afraid I may get sea 🤢 Do you eventually get used to the movement of the boat? I'm going to try building a houseboat in 2021. We have I believe 554 lakes in my county here in Florida. I can't wait to hear nature, cook, fish and listen to good music. I envy your way of life on the water.
You're a brave and capable young lady. Is it very difficult to sleep during a storm like that? Or do you have to keep yourself awake and alert, to be able to handle any issues that happen during the storm?
Ahoy there! Looks like a recipe for adventure: 1 part fear, 1 part fun! FYI: There is another storm coming down the coast tonight! It just whipped through OBX and winds were blowing south! Time to do it all over again.
Love your calmness, confidence and attention to detail in your vids. What a fun lifestyle you have. I wish God would put more women on this Earth with your brains, beauty and humor! Keep the vids coming :)
I was on Tims Ford Lake one time and there was a tornado that came through about 5 miles from where we was at there was six to seven foot waves that day 2 bass boat capsized that day trying to put their boat back on the trailer during the storm we got close to where we put in and anchored and weighted the Storm Out before putting it back on the trailer
I was raised in the Midwest and I used to love watching lightning storms. My mother had to keep telling me to get out of the window. Since there are so many windows in a boat I would love to watch the storm from a distance (yeah, right). I'd probably be right in the window.
What kind of lines are you using? They look like they get wet and swell, making a harder and tighter knot. Loved the video as always. Glad your back on the boat. Live and love life. :)
Houseboat Girl nylon or polypropylene. Nylon is durable and shock absorbent. Poly is cheap, it floats but it’s life isn’t that long and it isn’t as shock absorbent. Hi Kenai! Keep mom safe.
I just bought a 28 foot cabin cruiser. Grew up on boats. Was out west though. The storms are very different out in California. I live in Tennessee now. We’ll see how our first storm goes here. Enjoy your videos. Love your dog! I think I’m getting a husky for my next. ✌🏼
I would love love love to live on a boat but I do not have the knowledge the skill set the finances distance because I know it is a lot of work one of my goals is to rent a houseboat for at least a few nights on the ocean even if it stays docked in a marina
Are you in the States or Canada? I'm in Florida, so storms are a big thing here...hurricanes, that is. Someones boat is always crashing into the docks here because they didn't tie it down correctly. I think I would be more worried about some dummy's boat crashing into mine.
I'm assuming you are fairly new to boating two things you really really need to address both concerning your motor One even if you have to turn the boat around to do this the engine needs to be tilted up to get the lower unit out of the water if you don't electrolysis will totally destroy it and it's not a matter if only a matter of when and that can be quick Two your fuel tank location in is prohibiting the engine to tilt fully up it needs to be moved don't know where but it's dangerous where it's located for several reasons my best advice to you is seek out a professional too aid you with this process But what ever you do don't delay doing something time is not your friend in this critical matter

Great advice! Haha notes! Thanks Rick!

Love that feedback! I need new lines super bad! I’m not even sure, they were a quick buy at marine mart last minute. Any suggestions? And thanks!!! 🌊💜

Do u get internet and stuff on the boat? I’m a rookie to this whole idea lol.... very interested in the lifestyle tho
It depends on your marina! My marina provides great WiFi!
Miss you Marissa and your videos!
